Real Wedding: Laura and Walt, IV

I really love the details behind today’s affair. The bride and groom, along with the fabulous Blue Moon Events, put together such a thoughtful, gorgeous day and one that I know really resonates with a lot of you. It’s that perfect combination of an organic, garden inspired affair paired with a traditionally elegant style.

From the bride…

We wanted our reception to have the same understated elegance that comes naturally to the low country, and I truly believe we exceeded even my highest expectations. My mom and I are both very creative people, but when we joined forces with Calder Clark of Blue Moon Events, the sky literally became the limit. Together we came up with the concept for an elegant, yet rustic dinner party – a sort of step back in time with a refined natural twist.

From Blue Moon Events

We chose smoky taupe and bottle green as our colors for our letterpress stationery suite, and carried that throughout the actual reception with custom silk shantung linens in a dusky graphite color. We found rustic lanterns and suspended over one hundred of them over the long, Viking-style tables to flood the clear-top tent with candlelight. The tables were dotted with moss pots of variegated fresh herbs and lush florals, including  peonies, antique hydrangea, hellebores, monkshood, clematis, thistle, cabbage rosettes, and more.
