Real Wedding: Anne and John, IV

April 9th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 7 comments

Now on to the simple, traditional ceremony. I know that so many of you are having church ceremonies in the chapel that you grew up in, and this one is just that. I think that they key to hosting something like this is to remember that the beauty of the ceremony…the words, the love, the everything…is what you should focus on. If you want to bring in decor elements, keep them simple and modest.

From Anne…

We saved a lot of money on church decorations by placing my bouquet and my two maid of honor’s bouquets on the alter. We also placed preserved topiary balls at the end of the pews. After the ceremony, we transported the them to Eolio Mansion and placed them on the staircase rails. They were the best purchase because they last forever and they look great in our home and our parents’ homes.

How nice to see a church wedding. I've been wondering -by those featured on this site- if anyone gets married in church anymore.

    Beautiful.

I guess regarding a recent survey that the majority of Americans have no specific religious faith, that it stands to reason they value an impressive venue over God.

So very nice to see a REAL wedding with God at the center.
Congratulations! May God hold and keep you both in love.

I'm not getting married in a church, but God will be no less present at our wedding. We both love the outdoors, and sometimes I feel closer to God there than in any building. I think it's just a matter of preference.
