Four Seasons Films Presents … Monisha and Calvin in Los Cabos

April 9th. 2009 by Eddye | Filed Under | 17 comments

In keeping with the destination wedding theme from yesterday … we have a very touching film for you today from Holley and Paul Jackson, Four Seasons Films.  They are two of our finest Little Black Book cinematographers, and after watching this vignette of Monisha & Calvin’s Los Cabos wedding, we’re sure you’ll see why …

from Holley and Paul …

Monisha and Calvin commissioned Four Seasons Films to film their March wedding at the Westin Resort & Spa in Los Cabos, Mexico. Located at the tip of Baja, this exotic location boasts over 300 days of sunshine each year! The wedding guests enjoyed scenic adventure with horseback rides along the white sands and crashing surf and four wheel adventures across the bronze desert sands. Four Seasons Films travels worldwide to document both small, intimate weddings and large, extravagant events. We are the owners and exclusive cinematographers for our company and welcome the opportunity to bring new stories to life in fabulous detail for clientele who appreciate a higher standard. Four Seasons Films was thrilled to produce a breathtaking vignette for Monisha and Calvin to bring back their Mexico wedding to share with all of their family and friends stateside!

Monisha & Calvin — you guys were just stunning! And your vows were so very heart-warming. Congratulations from all of us at SMP!

A HUGE thank-you to Paul & Holley Jackson for sending us Monisha & Calvin’s extraordinary wedding film! As always, your work defines the highest quality in the industry.

UPDATE (April 13)

We heard from Calvin and Monisha over the weekend and wanted to share a little more of their story with you!

from Calvin & Monisha …

Monisha and I are from the east coast in Washington, DC – so the Mexican city of Cabo San Lucas would not be the typical choice for a destination wedding. You see Cabo is on the southern tip of the Baja of California in Mexico, and most easterners would choose the Caribbean (or the eastern part of Mexico) for a wedding event. But, Cabo was special to us. It was the first place that we visited together as a couple in August 2007, and (despite the once-in-a-decade hurricane that just happened to visit Cabo while we were there in 2007) we immediately fell in love with the area.

One year later, when we were engaged and considering wedding locations, Cabo quickly found itself at the top of the list. And, if we were going to Cabo, we naturally had to choose our host hotel from 2007, the Westin Spa and Resort in Los Cabos. We settled on a March 28, 2009 wedding date (the first full week of Spring) and anxiously prepared for our day. With such a beautiful location, we wanted to have the best. We had the best wedding planner (Lerkia Lee-Tidball of Savvy Soirées Event Management), the best photographer-“cousin” (Michael Clark) and THE BEST videographers (Paul & Holley Jackson of Four Seasons Films)! Even before we were engaged, Monisha had seen some of Paul and Holley’s work for other weddings around the world. Four Seasons Films has done large weddings, small weddings and everything in between. They have filmed celebrities and even in a castle. What an amazing treat it would be if they could film our wedding!

So, when our time came, Monisha checked to see if they were available. Fortunately for us, they were – and they had never filmed in Cabo before (lucky us)! Four Seasons Films captured our special day better than we could have even imagined it. This was not just some average wedding video – they captured the entire experience. The film quality and soundtrack belonged on a big screen, and Monisha and I were the stars. Friends that were not able to attend the wedding keep saying “I feel like I was there” when they see the video from Four Seasons Films. Even those in Cabo with us become emotional when they see our video (and I carry the video around on my IPod touch for all to see). For us, the wedding just would not have been the same without Paul and Holley of Four Seasons Films – and because of them, we have memories to last the rest of our lives!

From all of us here at Style Me Pretty … Congratulations on an absolutely stunning wedding!

Wow! Where to begin? I don't have a daughter but I could have not been any prouder of my own daughter than I was of Monisha. She was and is everything that a well-rounded, educated and gracious Lady should be. Monisha and Calvin, you both looked so happy together. I can only wish that the rest of the world is so fortunate to find true love like the two of you.

This was the most beautiful wedding that I have ever attended.

  9. Thank you to Monisha and Calvin for honoring us with the opportunity to design their "Passport to Paradise" wedding invitation. We love the picture that Holley and Paul took of the invite, on top of real passports..so cute! We also designed the table names -- Perfect Pair themed, of course. Congratulations to Monisha and Calvin!

    Best Wishes!

My dress was purchased at David's Bridal, but inspired by the wedding dress from the Sex in the City movie. It was a beaded lace dropped waist bodice with a ruffled tulle/organza skirt. I loved the chapel train!!

  11. Dozina says:

I was there and I had a wonderful time at the Westin in Los Cabos. When I saw my niece Monisha in her wedding dress, I cried like a baby because she was so beautiful and Calvin so handsome. I see true love and respect when looking at them looking at each other. The location was breath taking and I turly enjoyed myself. When I saw the Four Season's film, the tears started all over again.

    Love,
    Bubbles

    Gorgeous wedding film!

  13. Lucinda (Mother-of-the-Bride) says:

Monisha and Calvin’s wedding was spectacular! Many thanks to Lerkia Lee-Tidball (Savvy-Soirees wedding consultant) in planning and executing this once-in-a-lifetime day. Your efforts helped to make their wedding a dream come true! Behind his lens, Michael Clark (photographer) captured the brilliance of the moment with treasured photos that will be shared with our family and friends for years to come. Cinematographers, Holley and Paul Jackson (Four Seasons Films) took this event over the top with a beautiful wedding film that is priceless. As the mother-of-the bride, I want to thank-you all for ensuring that my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding will never be forgotten.

What an inspiring way to start a lifetime together. The couple was surrounded by the never ending ocean with whales and sea gulls dancing. The sun was shining its bright rays while the wind was gently blowing. Calvin and Monisha stood in the sand of the earth and exchanged their wedding vows in the company of family and friends. It was a fairy tale beginning and I am wishing them a relationship that can stand the test of time.

    Love Always,
    Boobie

Hi, I love the passports. We are also having a destination wedding in the Riviera Maya and I would love to use these for inspiration for our invitations. Where did you get them done? Ironically our colors are green and yellow :) Everyting looks wonderful.
