We appreciate the views of all, including the diversity and varied views expressed, even if they are in disagreement with the notion of same-sex weddings. The interesting thing is that everyone recognizes this as a wedding regardless of the legal ramifications that may or may not stem from the event. In fact, we never considered our wedding a political or otherwise inflammatory affair. Instead, we viewed it quite simply as a shared celebration of love. Unfortunately the validity of our marriage is in dispute in the court system (as part of the lawsuits stemming from Proposition 8) but not in our hearts. It saddens us greatly to think that the love we felt on our special day is somehow less recognized or valued than the love of straight couples.
