It’s time to announce the winners of our DIY Contest! I kind of fell head over heels for A LOT of the projects and from the looks of the voting, so did you. We did spend a good bit of time cross checking IP addresses making sure that each person only voted twice. So, I thought I would announce the two reader generated winners this morning, then our grand prize winner this evening!
The first person to get the $100 is (with 140 true votes)…DIY Coasters!

And the second person, who received the most votes of 151, the Origami Flowers!

We’ll announce the grand prize winner after today’s featured wedding (by the AMAZING Andreas…think stunning black and whites and a brilliant behind-the-scenes look at being one of the world’s bets photographers). I’ll also be in touch with the winners sometime today to get your details!
But, in the meantime, the fabulous Holly over at Decor8 sent me this brilliant DIY project that I am certain you guys are going to eat up!

The perfect touch of charm and romance for an outdoor reception OR to light the way to your indoor affair, these photo lanterns are unbelievably lovely. To see the full breakdown and step-by-step instructions, click right here!
My mom did the coasters this weekend after I forwarded the link to her. She made them for our gifts at my shower. She said they are quite possibly the coolest thing!!! Thanks!!!

Yay! Thank you! How exciting. I was hoping it would be clear that I wanted to make a favor that anyone could make, and that could be personalized and adapted to anyone's wedding (or party). Thanks again!
Once people at work found out about it, many of them voted using the same computer. I also have a big family, many of whom voted at my house, as do many of my friends.
I think DIY and handmade weddings are the best. I really like ByHand's wishlist feature for wishlisting handmade wedding items on handmade only venues. It's really neat. http://www.byhand.me/component/option,com_content/id,6322/task,view/
