Real Wedding: Margaret and Yancy, II

March 17th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 9 comments

I love today’s featured wedding for two reasons…the first, is the gorgeous photography by one of our favorite Little Black Book members, 5ive15ifteen. The second is that the bride tended to the details with such a thoughtful energy, such an edited voice. She paid attention to the little things, those that she knew would really make for a lovely wedding style. Love that.

From Margaret…

The invitations were designed by me, myself and my husband! I have a background in photo + graphic design, and knew what I wanted, and once we settled on the colours, it was just a matter of sitting down and coming up with a design that was clean, elegant and romantic. We loved our invites, the final product turned out just fabulous. [if I do say so myself]

For paper we used Cards and Pockets that we shipped them to Canada, and it was still significantly cheaper than buying it from a place in the GTA. I also did the place cards, and the table numbers and menus for the table [Dollarama had awesome photo clips], as well as the tags for the favors.

The photography was done by 5ive15ifteen photo company. Boy was this a hard decision…not only was this one of the first things on my list, but this was the most nerve wracking decision to make. We were so happy with the service, and the work…I wanted a bare bones package, so basically the shooting, and high res digital negs, so they gave us a custom quote. This was a splurge, but we could not be happier with the way they were on the wedding day [Anthony + Marco – 2nd shooter], the way both Yancy and I could be so comfortable in front of the camera, and the way I could [almost] relax, trusting that Anthony and I were on the same page with what we wanted and what they were shooting.

More from the STUNNING reception on the way!

A stunning wedding! I love the flowers, the stationery, the wedding dress and above all the SHOES... Please tell me where these delightfully retro peeptoes come from?

  2. What a great bout & bouquet combo. The monochromatic color palette really stands out!

Not too surprising that a wedding photographer would struggle with photography choices and then pick 5ive15ifteen for her own celebration! They really are that good. Love your shoes, Margaret!

Love the shoes!! Where are they from?

  5. Margaret says:

    Thanks so much everyone!
The shoes are Guess [panyin] shoes, I got them from Zappos.com [they were much cheaper online, than in the Guess store] and sicne I saved some $, I also got them in black [eeeks!] but they truly are the most comfortable pair[s] of heels I have ever purchased. No blisters, no achy feet, just perfect!

Where is your dress from? It's amazing!

  7. The dress was actually rather frugal, I got it at David's Bridal in Indianapolis, and I loved it. I felt so good in it, and it needed no alterations!

  8. Edie says:

Yeah, it's so amazing! I love it too! I would have never thought that you got it at David's Bridal in Indianapolis or that it was frugal! You're so lucky that you were able to get such a dress off the rack and that the sample fit!!

  9. [...] they were closed. Enter Cards & Pockets, which I found out about through Style Me Pretty, where another Canadian bride used them for her super gorgeous invites that she designed herself. After reading a little bit more about them on the Weddingbee boards, and also seriously loving [...]
