With all of the gorgeous inspiration happening on SMP today, I thought it was about time for another inspiring DIY centerpiece. This one was sent to us by the fabulous Tara Wilson out of Ft. Worth, whose talents literally make me jump for joy. Here is a chic, unbelievably lovely centerpiece that she crafted just for SMP readers!

Materials
Punch bowl, glass/silver/stainless from a antique malls, flea markets, or your grandmother’s silver chest
3 to 5 small orchids from a garden supply store or florist
Deer moss from a craft store
Notes from Tara
Place multiple orchids (depending on the size of the vessel) in a silver punch bowl (a beautiful glass bowl will work too), fill in spaces with extra soil, then top with bits of moss. Surround the bowl with votive candles to add extra sparkle. For more drama select orchids that accent the colors in your plates, glassware and linens.
So chic. Oh and Tara also put together a pretty fabulous table setting for all of you eco-chic brides out there. Coming up next!

that is SUCH a beautiful table setting! where are the dinnerware and napkins from? i love it.
The custom napkins were made using inexpensive fabric purchased from a local craft store. The china is by Versace.
I did something similar for my wedding. Great because you can give beautiful orchids as gifts after the reception! Also, good quality potted orchids bloom very a long time so this can all be done a week before the wedding. Our centerpiece orchids bloomed for 6 months after the wedding - such a wonderful reminder of our special day. You can get beautiful, cheap orchids at Costco. Amazing!
