Style Me Pretty

Giveaway: Wedding Invitations by A Day in May Designs

March 12th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 271 comments

I first fell in love with the genius that is A Day in May Design when I lived in San Francisco years ago. There is just something so refreshing in the simplicity of their designs and the quality of the letterpress. Every piece seems like a little work of art, something that you could frame and hang among your favorite photographs.

So, when they emailed me the details from their latest invitation line, I obviously…swooned. With 11 different designs in their new Signature Collection, there is definitely something that you will fall in love with, from Wintry snowflakes to vintage scrolls and perfect seashells. I love every bit of it and know you will too!

(oh and ps…there is a giveaway at the end of the feature!)

a day in may

From the girls at A Day in May…We designed this style because we noticed more and more couples were doing “destination” weddings. We wanted to create a style that allowed them to highlight their location. However, we soon realized that this style had an even wider appeal: whether a couple was planning a wedding in an exotic locale or a wedding in their own backyard, this style became a simple way to highlight a Place, capital “P”.  It is a little smaller in size than a traditional invitation, so it has a wonderful, whimsical feel to it as well.

a day in may

Here are some details about this invitation from the girls at A Day in May… This “style” is a folder sealed with a stamp-like sticker, that encloses the invitation and additional cards within. Couples can choose from our wide array of stamp selections or have us design a completely new stamp. It is in our SIGNATURE line so it is more budget-friendly than a custom piece. However, it lends itself very easily to custom touches: stamp design, paper color, ink color, font choice are all up to the couple.

* * *

So, in celebration of this newly launched collection, A Day in May Design is giving away…wait for it…a FREE destination or Signature Invitation to one lucky reader. The package will include the your invitation with printed envelopes and your reply set, for a quantity up to 150.

To enter, you’ll need to check out their Signature designs, then leave a comment here about which design would work within your own wedding style and palette. You must enter by Thursday, March 19th with the winner being announced Friday, the 20th.  Lots and lots of luck…this is a HUGE giveaway!!

i love sunshine! it's gorgeous and would go absolutely perfect with our theme. we're really trying to make everything cheery, friendly and light and this beautiful sun would convey that!

  2. Meghan says:

the destination designs would be PERFECT for our mountain top wedding! I LOVE the travel stamps!!!

  3. Katie-Beth says:

I love the destination invitations! I would choose butter yellow paper and charcoal ink :) My wedding is in HHI, SC so I would love the South Carolina Stamp!

  4. Melanie Leon says:

I really like the vintage and the pure type. My colors are gold and pink and a kind of vintage/modern style. The vintage are really cute, but I think the pure type is more for me just because I like the simplicity and style of them. The destination ones are cool too, but my destination is 15 mins away from my house, so that doesn't really work! They are cool though. :)

  5. Nicki says:

I love the icon or destination designs in navy. Perfect for my Chicago wedding!

  6. Amber says:

LOVE it! I would pick the vintage suite, which has exactly the look we're going for. So pretty!

  7. Joanne says:

It was so hard to pick! I love them all. I would have to go with the destination set. They would coordinate perfectly with my save the date, which was a vintage style postcard. I don't see any stamps from Mississippi, but I would love to have one with a magnolia on it. While my wedding is in mine and my fiancee's home state, it is actually a destination wedding for a lot of our friends!

  8. I love the destinations designs! They are so pretty, too bad I'm already married.

  9. Christina says:

i love love love the destination design! my fiance and i spent many years apart while we were dating and more often than not, relied on letters to each other to fill the gaps of time where we weren't able to be together. we have been trying to work this into our wedding and i think these invitations, with the stamps and the hand-canceled symbol, would be beautiful. we are getting married this fall at a vineyard overlooking the columbia river gorge and since it's a long ways to travel for many of our friends and family, we have designed it to be a destination wedding with a weekend full of activities.

  10. Karlee says:

The Reeds design would be perfect for our wedding this summer in the Willamette Valley outside of Portland Oregon! We are celebrating the beautiful outdoors with a palette of greens, ivory, and natural hues. There will be hints of vintage elements while still maintaining a clean fresh feeling. We have many guests traveling to Oregon for the first time and the beautiful organic feeling of the Reeds design will prepare them for a weekend filled with blue skies, marionberries, and pinot noir!

  11. Melanie says:

I like the sunshine suite the best and I think it'll go great with my theme (southern picnic!). I also love the destination stamps - it would be great to see how they would choose to represent North Carolina. A plane or rolling hills or dogwoods? Very interesting!

  12. Mary Kate Raffetto says:

I absolutely love the Destination Collection! My fiance and I were long distance for the first two years of our relationship, so we're going with a sort of globe/distance/travel feel and theme anyway! We're doing Old World travel, with lots of vintage stamps and wax seals on things, cream romantic flowers, etc. I think those invitations would be absolutely PERFECT! I just love letterpress but it's out of our- winning this would be so fantastic! Our wedding, in Austin, TX, is a destination wedding for both of our families and a large number of our friends.

  13. Kalikiana says:

I love the Vintage design (although the Sunshine design is beautiful as well!) If I was going to have a destination wedding though, that's what I'd choose HANDS DOWN!! :)

  14. Callie says:

I am not even kidding when I tell you that when I pulled up the vintage design, tears came to my eyes. (I promise you - I am usually not the weepy type). It is BEAUTIFUL and EXACTLY what I have envisioned! We are tight on budget, and are planning on making our own invitations - but these would be such an amazing gift to have! I saw that the vintage design is always printed in and ink one shade darker than the paper. It looks in the picture like it is printed in gold, which I would LOVE. Our colors are crimson and champage (gold) so these would go beautifully. Okay, I am totally getting carried away. Thanks for hosting this wonderful giveaway!

  15. Sara says:

I am planning a destination wedding in Charleston, SC so a destination design with a stamp of Rainbow Row or the houses along the Battery would be perfect! And it would look great in charcoal and blush pink. What a great idea!

  16. Karen says:

My favorite is the Pure Type design -- its understated elegance is the kind we're hoping to achieve with the rest of our wedding details, and would complement them terrifically!

  17. Erma says:

Wow.. they are so pretty! If I had to chose I would go with the Destination collection. We are getting married in Santa Monica in September so this would be ideal. Our wedding is very small and intimate so I would love for our guests to receive a special invitation, so beatiful. Our Save the Date and accouncment cards were done like a postcard so this would be perfect. Great inspiration!

  18. Abigail says:

I adore the Destination suite. Most of our guests will be coming to St. Paul, MN for our weddding in a historic library and this invitation is so lovely. What a wonderful idea!

  19. Robin says:

wow! i have never seen so many comments on a post before. i too felt inclined to say these are really lovely and i'm always excited to find local vendors!

  20. Robin says:

oh my gosh... i just realized why there are so many comments! lol i just looked at the pictures before i really read the article. it's a giveaway! of course.

  21. Alma says:

The destination design is perfect for our wedding invitations. Chicago is a dominant theme of our wedding, not only as the location, but because of what our time in the city has meant to us both individually (for me, graduate school and my first "real" job and for my fiance a childhood hometown) and as a couple.

  22. Lindsay H says:

Wow, thank you! Our wedding will be on the beach in Santa Barbara, CA - home to us but a destination to most of our guests. I love the palm tree icon and also the 'San Miguel Mexico' stamp would work well for our theme too. Our colors will be black and white (a feather icon would be my dream!!) Very beautiful...pick me!!

  23. Dawn says:

Adore, love and worship the icon design!! We are planning a backyard cocktail chic wedding and it's the perfect combination of whimsical and simple. I would pick charcoal ink and the rounded edges, with the two lounging chairs, or an outside umbrella as our little theme. So cute!!! I can already picture them perfectly in my head!

  24. Linda Kay says:

I am so in love with your vintage invitations! My fiance and I are high school sweethearts and we're going to totally rock a vintage theme at our wedding. We're having a backyard wedding and I think these invitations would set the perfect mood!!!

We've been waiting so long to tie the knot and these vintage invitations would bring such an elegant, timeless vibe to our big day. Thank you for your consideration!!

  25. Aubrey SP says:

I would definitely choose "Destination" - I love the idea of the wedding location being the main theme throughout the invitation suite!!! The palette would be an array of pinks from Azalea to Bubble gum!

  26. Pauline says:

I absolutely love the destination collection! It's simple yet entirely elegant -- just what I'm going for!

  27. jaimi says:

My favorite design is the Bloom design. I think it captures the modern, yet elegant look I envision for my Florida wedding, and the depicted colors are exactly what I had planned!

  28. Elizabeth says:

It was easy to "fall" in love with the autumn collection, but the destination invitations are absolutely charming, wonderful, and perfect! The wedding is in Napa, so the stamp would be ready to go...Dare I say, "serendipity"!!!

  29. Kejal says:

I love the vintage design. Very elegant and timeless!

  30. Andrea says:

These are AMAZING. I love them.

  31. Jourdan says:

Love the destination invitations! I can just picture the old ranch house where we're getting married in as the stamp. Lovely!

  32. Jennifer Z. says:

I agree that they are all beautiful but the destination design blew me away. I am having a destination wedding in the Bay Area and see how amazing these could be for our special day.

  33. Emilie says:

The Sonoma destination invitation is the perfect detail to send to our guests as we invite them to join us to celebrate our wine country wedding this fall. We got engaged in Costa Rica and love to travel, so the destination collection strikes a chord with us! We live in SF now, so we're completely jazzed to see all the SF iconic glimpses. Gorgeous!

  34. Zachary says:

My fiance made me enter this contest- I think she really wants these invitations! She likes the Destination line. I can see why, they look pretty nice!

  35. Christianne says:

Its hard to pick, because they're all just lovely, but I think my favorite is the pure type style - just beautiful! I'm especially fond of the invite on page 3 - it's classic and traditional, yet the font has the barest hint of whimsy. Feels very "us"!

  36. Tracy says:

The destination suite is incredible! We're getting married in Sonoma at a winery, and our colors are burgundy and gold. I started drooling as soon as I saw your first picture, since these beautiful invitations would set the tone perfectly for our wedding.

  37. The destination design is fabulous. I love all of them though!

  38. JLH says:

I love the simplicity and cleanliness of the Icon...my wedding is an urban loft setting at night...and these would be just the fresh, hip intro to the event.

  39. Lindsey says:

Oh shucks, I'm torn. I just got engaged last week, so I'm currently deciding between a snowy Colorado mountain wedding (my hometown) or a harvest Napa wedding (where I live now). So, needless to say, I'd pick the adorable Frost invitations for a Colorado wedding or the Destination invitations for a Napa wedding. Sorry, they're too beautiful for me to pick just one! I promise I'd make up my mind though:)

  40. Sonnie says:

What a great giveaway; thank you!

They're all beautiful, but for my outdoor summer wedding, "sunshine" is absolutely perfect. To top it off, we plan to incorporate sunflowers as part of our decorations for the wedding, so the "sunshine" invitation really couldn't be more fitting!

  41. Stefanie says:

Hi - the DESTINATION style would be perfect for the bridal shower I'm hosting! My cousin is honeymooning in Sydney so that's the theme for the shower. Thanks!

  42. Liz says:

These are STUNNING - I love the colors in each and there uniqueness!

My fiance and I are getting married in Vail, CO and our guest list extends from East Coast to West Coast to the South - I would have to pick destination!! Our save-the-dates are vintage postcards from Vail and our tables will be themed with vintage postcards of special places we've visited together. The stamp would go beautifully with our wedding decor and tie it all together from beginning to end. I love them!

  43. Taylor says:

What a great collection! I will have to look for them here in SF....

  44. Alisha says:

Pure Type is purely amazing. As an artist, nothing is more appealing to me then a beautiful font on beautiful paper. Perhaps Pure wedding invitations will make up for some impure thoughts I've been having about my fiance...

  45. Ashley says:

Sunshine. We're having a Thanksgiving week wedding, but trying to avoid the typical fall leaves designs. Sunshine has such a great color, and such an organic feel. I love it!

  46. honeymyheart says:

the sea shell design would be perfect for my wedding location.

  47. Lillian says:

I would use the Foliage set. My fiance love everything leaves and trees.

  48. Juana says:

Love the destination designs! Brian and I are getting married in Kenwood which is right down the highway from Sonoma and the Sonoma design is glorious~ especially in the navy color shown on the site. 'Kenwood' in navy would be amazing!

  49. Sarah says:

What a great site to kick off our wedding planning! We have just secured our location & date...renting my old sleepaway camp(camphighlander.com/map) and are looking for personal and natural invitation to tie in our postcard save the dates (Hello, Mother...Hello Father.) Brown, ivory with a hint of red (for color war. Thanks for the inspiration.

  50. Celia says:

Vintage would be great for us! We're incorporating vintage pieces throughout the day, antique milk glass cake stands and candy dishes as well as a classic 1957 Bentley. We using hydrangeas as our color palette, using the bright white and subtle blues, so a slate blue would be great!

  51. Kerri M. says:

The Pure Type style would be perfect for our wedding!

  52. Amanda says:

Our reception has a modern peacock theme with jewel tones and I was looking for an invitation with a peacock feather, but none were simple enough for my style. I would love the icon invitations with a custom designed peacock feather. White with a grass font, or turquoise!

  53. Heidi says:

Love seeing the Santa Cruz Mountain invite!!!!!!!!

  54. Leika says:

The vintage or pure type styles would be perfect for us! We're going with a vintage-inspired wedding with a reception at a historic inn, so either design would be lovely -- our colors are charcoal and ivory, so the charcoal ink on the natural paper would match perfectly!!

  55. heather says:

I love the pure print. It is so modern and simplistic. Perfect for my wedding in Houston!

  56. Alli says:

It's a toss up between the vintage and the pure type; can I have both? :)

  57. Karen says:

I love, love, love the 'Destination' style. As we are getting married in the French Alps it would fit perfectly with the place and the vintage style is exactly what I had in mind.

I'm currently battling with my printer (which won't print anything I want it to!) so I would love to have someone else take care of this for me.

Competition aside - I think they are the most gorgeous invitations I've seen so far.

  58. Angela says:

I really love the Pure Type design, it is so simple and elegant, it's beautiful! I think it goes perfectly with our wedding, we're getting married in Newburyport, Massachusetts, in a small church that was built in 1801, the design is really reminiscent of the Old North Church in Boston, and our reception is in a ballroom that was redone in it's original "Federal Style". Our colors are black and plum and I am sure these colors incorporated into the design would look fabulous!

  59. Suzanne says:

DESTINATION! How creative and detailed. I especially love the Wedding Weekend Details card in the SMP picture, with icons next to each weekend activity. Our wedding is in San Diego and I would love to create a San Diego Invitation (I'm surprised there wasn't one already?). Most of our guest are out of town (NYC, London, Hong Kong, San Fran and more) so we're planning a destination to San Diego that will include a Beach House rehearsal BBQ and more including shuttle service to our wedding at Orfila Winery.
    What a great giveaway!

  60. Bindu says:

I would love the Vintage! We are having our wedding reception at a historic hotel in Atlanta and then a backyard reception in Nashville. This invitation captures the vibe I would like to have for both events!

  61. Kimberly says:

Vintage style number two is just perfect for my wedding. Classic and elegant but the horizontal layout gives it a quirky take that you didn't expect but very much enjoy!

  62. Kate says:

The destination designs are so unique! We are getting married in Montana, just outside of Yellowstone National Park. To me it is home but for my of our guests they consider it a stateside destination wedding. it would be so cool to see Old Faithful Geyser recreated for the "stamp"!

  63. KSW says:

Oh, how do I love these invitations!!! I adore the destination and icon invites. Especially, since we are throwing a San Francisco Wedding! Love them to pieces.

  64. Monica says:

I love the destination style... Tom and I are still playing around with a destination wedding and we have 2 locations in mind and the fact that the invitation can play the starting role is a bonus.

  65. Shan says:

I love both the sunshine and the pure type styles! We are having a farm wedding with sunflowers as the dominant flower - the sunshine invites remind me so much of these flowers!

  66. Amy L says:

Destination is my favorite! :) So classy!

  67. Bob says:

My favorite was the Pure type. Not necessarily the green color featured, but perhaps with a metallic. The text with a simple design kept it visually interesting and not just text. The vintage was also interesting, but better suited for those looking for less simple.

  68. Leah N says:

I love love love the Bloom invitation in eggplant ink. It would be so perfect for the wedding. It is so simple and elegant just like we want our wedding to be!

  69. Kate says:

Although ALL the styles are incredibly enchanting, Bloom snagged my eye! The design is striking yet simple which is very much the style of my backyard June weddding. I would love to see it on the lustre metalic paper in chocolate and charcoal ink!

  70. Dariana says:

I think the San Francisco Icon invitations are simply adorable. I love how they incorporate not just one, but several famous city landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Painted Ladies, Cable Car and Coit Tower. We are getting married in the fall in SF and have many guests traveling from all over the country and the world to attend. What better way to get them excited about coming to one of the world's best cities than with these gorgeous invitations!

  71. Taryn says:

Thank You for all the wonderful links! I especially look forward to all and any new invitation links, I check almost every night. I think the invitations have become an obsession, and perhaps I haven't finished them because I am afraid it all be over so soon (but its more likely that the ink from my printer just hasn't satisfied me at all). Its coming down to the wire, and your SUNSHINE is my absolute favorite for our green/pink and orange July wedding in Vermont! Way to go A Day in May!

  72. Leah says:

All of the invitations are lovely, but the vintage design, with kelly green ink, would match the simplicity and elegance of our wedding - a wine country backyard affair with good food, good wine and the people we love!

  73. Heather says:

I love the vintage. We're having a very intimate and simple wedding and this design fits quite well.

  74. Kate N. says:

I am quite fond of Sunshine as it suits our bright colour palette ... but the destination option might be neat for the Oregon coast!

  75. Sara says:

I have been in love with Foliage since I saw it a couple of weeks ago. I have been trying to forget about it, because it is way out of our price range... But it would so perfect for my fall wedding. We are getting married outside at the Audubon Naturalist Society in a grove of trees. Simply beautiful!

  76. Kris says:

Oh my gosh, they are all just so lovely! The destination series combines a fabulous classic look with a touch of whimsy. It would be perfect for any wedding, as well as my own!

  77. How fabulous! The "Vintage" Invites compliment our wedding perfectly. It's elegant, classy, but also has a glam element!
I LOVE them!! (PS- My fiance loves them too!)

    Thanks for the great contest!

  78. Emie Mullins says:

What a great contest! :) I couldn't wait to get home and find out who would be giving away invitations!
I LOVE the Destination suite. I'd have the ladies use an oak tree on the enclosure.
My fiancee and I found out a few weeks ago that our original venue was closing.
After many tears and lots of stress we now know it was a blessing in disguise.
We were lucky enough to book gorgeous Magnolia Plantation (even though the wedding has been moved to a Sunday) we ADORE our new location.
It's the epitome of the lowcountry charm and the oak trees are breathtaking!

  79. Tess Stelzer says:

My fiance and I are drawing family and friends from all around the country and world (some attendees will be arriving from Kigali Rwanda!) so we're making our wedding celebration a multi-day party highlighting iconic elements of our home, the Pacific Northwest. The wedding will held at our biggest NW icon: Mt. Rainier. Guests will stay in little woodland cabins and be fed salmon, local wines, and blackberry pie. Since we're aiming for iconic, of course, we would be elated to win the icon invites. We would definitely choose the the mountain image with trees as nothing could be more perfect. What an amazing giveaway!

  80. Michelle says:

"Vintage" blew me away! It works so well for our wedding because we are being married in the garden of a historic mansion from the 1700s. The mansion has all kinds of details just like the ones on the invitation. It is a lovely cream colored home that would match this invitation suite perfectly. It's as if the invitations were designed with our wedding site in mind!

  81. Claire says:

I love the Autumn design, it would work perfectly with our October wedding. Simple understated elegance, love, love it!!

  82. Meghan says:

I love, love, love these! I would likely choose the reeds if I HAD to pick. Or perhaps the desination. We are getting married in the mountains outside of Park City, Utah. Such a beautiful collection to mark the day!

  83. Dortresia J says:

I H.E.A.R.T. the "pure" style with eggplant ink.The calligraphy is soo elegant and formal which would describe my wedding to a "t".Oh eggplant is one of my colors.

  84. sarah says:

I LOVE how simple and elegant the pure set is. It's a perfect reflection of what we like - plenty of great style, without the fuss!! Our colors are dark brown, fuchsia and taupe. These invitations would look great with brown lettering and maybe a splash of pink in there somewhere! My deadline for ordering invitations actually falls on March 20th, so this would be perfect timing and a perfect invitation set!

  85. Amy says:

I literally got light-headed when I saw this gorgeous feature! I grew up in Sonoma and we are hosting a real home-town wedding there this fall, at a local family-owned winery, and these invitations would fit perfectly with the feel of our wedding. The textures and beautiful illustrations truly give me that warm-and-fuzzy feeling! Great work, A Day in May.

  86. Nancy says:

Oh, I love the Puretype line. I think it looks modern and traditional at the same time, and I love how clean it looks.

  87. Briana says:

Autumn is perfect. I wanted an autumn wedding so badly that I was willing to have a long engagement. It's been hard to wait so long, but I think it'll be perfect. All of the fall colors are worked into my palette. Deeps reds, burnt orange, brown and hints of pale green. And that simple falling leaf on the Autumn design matches the rubber stamp I've used to decorate the save the dates.

  88. m2d says:

I love the Mexico icon from the Destination series. It would fit because we're asking 20 of our closest friends and family to join us for a weekend fiesta that just happens to include a wedding. Flowers will be warm-colored and bright, in shades of yellow, red, and orange, with deep blue table runners. I would choose blue ink with an orange card holder - to remind our guests of the ocean and the beautiful sunset they'll enjoy.

  89. LC says:

I love the ICON collection. The font is fabulous - fun yet chic and formal. The icons are adorable and I'd have my own designed of the Statue of Liberty for my wedding.

  90. Krista says:

    Wow, what beautiful invitations!

I absolutely love the destination designs! Although our wedding is in SF where we live, 90% of our guests are from outside of California! We're trying to make a whole weekend of touristy activities for our guests since they are all visiting from around the country (or even from another country!).

  91. Patti says:

The vintage style would look wonderful with what we are doing. They are all beautiful! Thanks for offering the contest!

  92. A-Team says:

We would be so lucky to use sunshine for our wedding. We want a our wedding to be a cheerful celebration and the sunflower motif would be a perfect complement to the beautiful sunflowers from my mother's garden we plan to use in the bouquets and centerpieces.

  93. Sarah says:

I really love the vintage style!! Our colors are spring green, black, and white- and we have a very modern reception hall so I think the vintage would be such a great balance and subtle elegance to where we're headed!

  94. Amber says:

I LOVE the destination style! We're getting married in Charleston this fall in a small ceremony. I'm from New York and the Groom is from Texas, so we're meeting in the middle for a destination wedding. The destination invites, especially with the stamp sticker detail, would really get our guests excited about what we think is a mini-vacation for all.

  95. Dee says:

    The AUTUMN collection matches perfectly!

The Maid of Honor and I are wearing oak leaf earrings: whimsical earrings made from dipping real leaves into copper and other metals.

The etsy seller also crafts oak leaf pins, perfect for our Mothers! A modern and autumnal twist on traditional corsages. We also are using gilded oak and maple leaf place card holders.

We're hoping to incorporate the motif of "falling leaves" into our classic aesthetic. These crisp, modern, and balanced invitations are the most perfect fit!

  96. Kandace says:

I love the sunshine collection, Orange is one of my colors.it would go prefectly. And they are just so pretty.thanks for doing this give away

  97. Kandace says:

I love the Sunshine collection, it would go prefectly and it's what I was looking for. Thank you for doing this

  98. Ally says:

My fiance and I are planning a very simple, very intimate wedding with about 10 folks, but will be celebrating with our friends and extended family with a large reception.

The simplicity and classic style of Pure Type is perfect for us.

  99. Alexandra says:

I love the destination design! I'm planning to get married in New Orleans which will be a destination wedding for us and our guests. The destination design would be perfect!

  100. Alicia says:

I love them all, but the pure type is GORGEOUS.

  101. Heather says:

I absolutely LOVE the Sunshine design! My fiance and I are both students and have been planning on a budget to say the least. I am a die-hard yogi and my fiance is an avid philosopher, we escape to our happy places when school gets overwhelming and stressful. We are incorporating sunflowers into our wedding since they are bold, bright, happy, and beautiful! Something about sunflowers just make me smile, and that is exactly what I want surrounding me on the day I marry my dream man. When I first saw the Sunshine design I instantly fell in love because not only is it elegantly simple, but it grasps the theme of our wedding from so many different angles: sunflowers, bright colors, simple, with a yogi twist. I absolutely love this line, love the design, what great work A Day in May Design does.

  102. Lindsay says:

I love the Reeds style! It's the exact zen-green style that we're going for and would be perfect for the feeling of our wedding. We're getting married in downtown Ann Arbor, MI and love that during the summer its such an outdoor-town, which we're totally embracing for the event.

  103. Lauren says:

I really like the clean, sophisticated look of the Pure Type! This style would look great with a combination of the #2 and #18 fonts. The overall look would give my guests the impression of a fun but elegant wedding, which is exactly the mood that I am going for! As for colors, I would choose the natural felt paper with chocolate ink. To tie my palette together, I'd like to add a glossy, orange belly band, preferably in a shade that is in between the tangerine and pumpkin. I think that such a rich palette would be really suitable for a wedding in late summer, which is what we are planning towards. But regardless of the style choice, this is a truly gorgeous collection! I think it would be impossible to choose poorly!

  104. Catherine says:

What beautiful stationary! I was torn between the 'Vintage' and the 'Foliage' designs, but I think 'Foliage' is more suitable for our spring garden wedding

  105. peachberry says:

I simply adore the Bloom series! It would totally match my vision for a late summer wedding with a clean, simple palette with muted tones. Just love it!

  106. Andrea says:

Wow, I am really loving on the vintage style. My whole idea for the big day is all about vintage charm mixed with some quirky, fun details. We are college students who are coming back to our hometown in st. louis to celebrate the big day and these invites would go great with the charming feel and look that I would love to achieve at my wedding. What a great opportunity to win such an amazing prize!

  107. Nicole Burns says:

I love the "Vintage" collection. Our wedding theme is a bit of old Hollywood mixed with modern chicness. I love with oldies and he's into the 2000's so this works well with our theme right down to the symbols on the invitation. To put it simply--it's Motown meets Hip-Hop.

  108. Victoria J says:

I love the sonoma destination suite. so pretty!!

  109. Kathryn says:

Wow!! What beautiful classic invitations! I am getting married this July, 4th in Germany and would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have the destination suite in Navy (or what ever you give me, your choice) to send literally all over the world to the guests!! I love letterpress, and the large selection of paper and fonts that you offer! I would love to have this invitation because it is so elegant and full of European style. I have had such a hard time finding something to mix my American style with the elegance of Europe.

  110. annie says:

the bloom design is absolutely amazing!!! it would be so perfect for our st. helena wedding in october- particularly the color since our colors are plum and tangerine!

  111. Megs says:

OOOOH! I love the Bloom invites- total must have for my wedding.
They are simple, yet stunning- colorful and bright but the design speaks for itself. Please pick me, I would love to mail these out to my guests- what a great way to set the tone for my June backyard wedding!

  112. sarah says:

it was a close tie between vintage and pure type for me, but in the end i think pure type would fit the best for my casual elegance june wedding!

  113. Meghan Eilbeck says:

I am in love with the Destination suite. The Napa stamp with a farmhouse structure in the back would be perfect for our Los Olivos, CA wedding. This suite incorporates everything I've been looking for- an elegant and classic design with the added touches of personalization to make it fun for our out-of-town guests. I love A Day in May Design!!!

    (ps- pick me!)

  114. Hello- Thanks for the great offer of free invitations. I love the clean simple style. I'm a wedding photographer myself and am now finally engaged. I'm having an outdoor wedding at an old adobe with orange as the main color, so the "sunshine" style would fit our wedding's style perfectly. (fingers crossed)

    Thanks.

  115. Patty says:

What a generous giveaway! Letterpress is so refined. I am digging the "vintage" design; it has an understated romantic and glamorous feel to it. Thanks!

  116. Connie says:

All of the invitations were so beautiful. The invitation that would go well with our wedding theme would be the Destination design. We're having our wedding in Peru (since all of my family is there), and it would just fit so perfectly!

  117. Mary says:

I love the destination ones! We are getting Married in Chautauqua and it has a beautiful iconic belltower that would be perfect!

  118. Anna M says:

The destination suite is beautiful! It would be perfect for our Trinidad wedding and would complement our save the date email, which I designed on my mac using the airmail theme. It would really evoke the "travel to a faraway place" theme I'm hoping for!

  119. Tasha says:

What beautiful invitations! I like the foliage one, it would really fit my September wedding taking place at a venue nestled in the woods.

  120. Meghan says:

The icon design is perfect! I am having a Philadelphia wedding in August which is a destination for more than half our guests. I have been searching for an invitation where I can use the "LOVE" design from Love park in Philly - the icon design is exactly what I ahve been looking for!!

  121. Dawn says:

A Day in May Designs invitations are beautiful! I love the Sunshine collection! The colors I have chosen for my June 2010 wedding are tangerine and aqua! I was an art major in college and love color! I wanted two strong contrasting colors and thought they were fabulous combinations for our June nuptials. I would love to be chosen for this giveaway!!

  122. Heather says:

I am sold on the Sunshine invitation! My fiance and I are having our wedding at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh in May of 2010, which is a huge conservatory and botanical garden. I am planning on having green as my main color with pops of orange/tangerine/apricot everywhere to punch up the color. These invitations would tie in the location and the bright colors I want to highlight perfectly. What a wonderful giveaway you're doing! I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

  123. Stefanie says:

"Frost" would be perfect for our New Year's Eve Winter Wonderland wedding celebration! I hope for something a bit whimsical but still refined and these invites fit the bill! I love the simple, elegant design combined with the fun belly band and envelope designs! Gorgeous!

  124. Erica says:

All the invitations were absolutely beautiful but the one that I love the most and that fits the look we are going for is the destination suite. We are getting married in Charleston, SC and most of our guest have never been there. I would choose the natural felt paper with the eggplant ink. I love the fact that they are simple and elegant but full of personality, which is how we are planning our day.

  125. Krysta says:

    Hello
I loved the Destination design with the mountain and the tree in front of it. We are having a small intimate ceremony at my parents home in Montana. Most of our guest have never been to Montana so this is a destination wedding for them and we really wanted something to set the tone for the weekend events. This is exactly what my fiance and I wanted but we were unable to find something on line that we both loved. Your designs are lovely.

  126. Valerie B. says:

I'm having a hard time choosing between Vintage and Foliage. Both designs are absolutely beautiful!!! But I would have to pick Foliage since it's not only beautiful, but it fits our wedding perfectly. My fiance and I are having a fall New England wedding. Our reception is taking place in a barn. The Foliage design is perfect for us!!!

  127. Lisa Liang says:

It's a tough choice but the Bloom style would be a great fit. It's simply stated but very classy. My colors are plum and turquoise so it'd have a nice pop with the colors and textures.

  128. Leslie C. says:

What gorgeous invitations! We are getting married Labor Day weekend at an old summer camp in the Vermont hills overlooking a lake. Since we're using sunflowers and dahlias in mason jars for our centerpieces and we'll have sunflowers and dahlias on our huppah (Jewish wedding canopy), the Sunshine design would be perfect-- bright, cheery, fun, and no fuss (but still elegant), just like our wedding. Think Vermont Farmer's market in late summer. I love the ink shades of raspberry, tangerine, and garnet, and I particularly like fonts 4 and 5. Thank you for this generous giveaway.

  129. Amanda D. says:

I love the Pure Type design. The green and whimsical font fit in perfectly with the our green outdoor wedding!

    Thanks for this giveaway!

  130. Abby B. says:

I really love the simplicity of the Pure Type invitations. They're decidedly elegant, and perfect for our wedding.

  131. Anna says:

I absolutely love the Vintage design! It would go beautifully and add an interesting pattern to our classic black, white, charcoal wedding. My fiance and I are on a very tight budget, but I find myself swooning over letterpress invitations that I know we can't afford. These invitations are a work of art and would make a wonderful statement!

  132. Allie says:

WOW -- these are gorgeous -- but I would definitely go for the Icon Design, and probably have them design me something special... being a graphic designer, this set of invitations grabbed my attention right away... My wedding is set in a very elegant Massachusetts mansion, and I am doing all decorations & themes in a modern, chic, cocktail style to offset the elegance of the place - this invite would fit in perfectly!!

Thanks so much for this great giveaway!!! Good luck to all the brides out there :)

  133. Michelle says:

NYC for me all the way!! My fiance' and I reside in Brooklyn and would have loved to have a New York wedding, but our budget got in the way, and am now tying the knot in small town PA. This invite would do a great job of conveying the "big city" feeling we are trying to accomplish at the reception.

  134. Leslie says:

I love the vintage and the destination designs. We're planning a destination wedding to New Orleans, so somehow mixing the two designs would go perfectly with our event!

  135. Laurel says:

oooh, I LOVE the 'reed' design. I've always found so much beauty in grasses - they're textural, graceful, and signify bounty (to me, at least). So wonderful. I'd love to win this.

  136. anat says:

These are very beautiful. I'm partial to the "pure type" because its so classic and elegant - it really fits with the simple elegance of our wedding plans. I also really like the "destination" invites. We aren't having a destination wedding, but we are going to have a second reception in Tel Aviv, where my extended family live and it would be really nice to incorporate my overseas ties in the invitations.

  137. Melanie says:

The Icon design is perfect! We are having a classic red, white, and black theme, but we are having a penguin at our reception. How cute would it be to incorporate a custom penguin icon into our invitations?! A perfect mix of class and fun - just like our wedding!

  138. Anne says:

It's so hard to choose. We're getting married in Upstate New York in October so Autumn seems like the way to go. It would perfectly match the feel of our wedding.

  139. Colleen says:

The "Pure" design is exactly what I was looking for. Simple, beautiful, I would choose Copper ink and type #18, with our names in calligraphy.

  140. harmony says:

Amazing designs! I fell head-over-heels for the Vintage style--our reception is in a ballroom built in 1902 and it's classic vintage beauty has become the theme for our wedding. Our colors are creams/golds with tiny hints of rose sprinkled about, so the gold of the Vintage invite would be perfect! This would be an amazing help to us right now--a friend of ours is attempting to design invites for us to ease our wedding budget, and it isn't working out so well. Thanks for all the great giveaway offers you have on SMP!

  141. Becky S says:

The REEDS design would be fantastic with my wedding style and palette. We're going rustic and earthy with browns, greens, grasses, twigs, you name it - there is something so simple, refreshing and yet dramatic about these elements of nature. I would have loved an outdoor wedding but it wasn't working out so I'm bringing the outdoors in.

  142. Nicole-Lynn says:

I adore the Seashell and Destination designs, if I had to choose, I would go with the Seashell Design! I think they are very classy and have such a beachy, elegant feel to them. I think they would portray the right feel and message for my guests for a semi-destination wedding at a seaside location.

  143. Beth says:

As gorgeous as the destination invites are, I'd probably have to go with Icon. And I'd probably want a customized icon (either a ferris wheel or carousel... we're going vintage amusement park/carnival themed), and a turquoise/aqua ink.

  144. Marcie says:

I am a lifelong fan of the color orange. There aren't many of us who have truly stayed dedicated throughout the years. For my wedding I am using a palette with turquoise with orange, and the Sunshine invitations would be absolutely beautiful. My fiance and I have been dating since we were freshmen in high school, so we want our wedding to reflect the happiness and optimism we have in our marriage. The Sunshine invitations really embody that feeling of optimism and the beautiful expectations that we have for our life together.

    Thanks for doing this give-away!

  145. Meghan says:

So beautiful! I love both the Pure Type and the Icon styles. We're working on an understated Gatsby design for our wedding, and I could envision either of these invitations really pulling the wedding together. They are so lovely - great work!

  146. There is something so magical about the seashells. Growing up on a tiny island off the coast of Washington has instilled a life defined by the tides. When Jake proposed to me, I knew we needed to celebrate near the water. Jake, being from the mid-west never understood my constant longing to be on the water, but he has learned to appreciate my passion. The seashell design is dreamy, and a bit magical so much like my childhood. I am so glad that someone took the time to capture that in a design, it truly brings me joy, as I know it would bring my guests.

  147. Carrie says:

I love the Autumn collection - it would be perfect for our Colorado wedding in September. The leaves start slowly changing then and it would match our theme.

  148. lisa says:

Love the bloom, vintage and pure type. All are beautiful. Although I'm not a new bride, my husband and are are going to be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary in style. Vintage old Hollywood cocktail party at one of the swanky hotels here in town. We are the something old, our daughter is the something new and our something blue is the beautiful summer blue sky! We are grateful to have each other! Love their work.

  149. Sarah says:

I would choose the Destination design. There is something very elegant and yet fun about it. It would definitely signal to our guests that the wedding will be an event to remember.

  150. Victory B. says:

Stunning work. I love the focus on the Place with the Destination series! Being new in our city, I want both of our families to love it as much as we do:)

  151. Heather says:

Oh, this is a tough call. I think the autumn set would be the best fit for us. We're getting married in September of '10. I'm thinking maybe plums and browns would be nice. A little different from the oranges and yellows of a typical autumn invites.

  152. Ashley says:

I LOVE the bloom design. My fiance and I met while studying abroad and I think it represents our eclectic style while being elegant enough for a wedding. The colors I would choose are tangerine and garnet. I think our guest would be excited for the wedding the minute they got these invites.

  153. Sarah H. says:

I love the destination suite- we haven't nailed down our location yet, but it would be so fun to think about, and a great way to get your guests excited about coming! I also love the Frost suite- beautiful for a winter wedding!

  154. Courtney says:

I love the vintage collection - timeless and elegant it's perfect for our New York City wedding (which could also be a destination wedding, since many of our guests are coming in from out of town). Great designs, thanks for featuring them!

  155. Alison says:

The foliage and autumn designs are perfect my Woodstock, Vermont wedding in October. They are the most elegent of all the seasonal offerings I've seen--I just love them!

  156. Hillary B. says:

I would adore the icon or destination cards in black and white and maybe gray! We want our wedding to share the great things about our city (Austin)...so this would be perfect!!

  157. kelly says:

Well, since I'm having a "destination" wedding, I cannot resist the destination line.

We're getting married at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto -- it's a beautiful building that I think would make a fantastic "icon."

Obviously, our unique (some say "odd") venue is a huge part of our wedding, so I'm trying to incorporate it as much as possible into our designs -- this stationery would do that perfectly!

  158. Lizz says:

I love the bloom cards! That's exactly our wedding colors so it gives our guests a little something something before the big day!

  159. Rob says:

Hi! My fiance is obsessed with this site (I see her on it and smiling all day long). Finally the day has come where she is begging me to check it out and enter this giveaway. We love the bloom cards - it's just very us. I must say this is also an amazing site - thanks for making my fiance smile!

  160. Mary says:

It's such a great collection, but I really like the destination invitations! We're getting married in a barn still close to home, but they would still be super cute! They're classy and fun and could really work for any wedding! All you have to do is design a new stamp!

  161. Liz M. says:

My fiance and I are getting married on Halloween - a fun coincidence, but something we are trying to downplay when possible (I have come to terms with the fact that someone in my wacky family will likely come in costume!). The beautiful Foliage design would be a perfect nod to the fall season but avoids sticking a jack-o-lantern on the invitation. We both love the classic elegance of letterpress, but for our DIY event, it does not fit in the budget. Thanks for giving couples like us a chance to win!

  162. Jules says:

Do you think Pittsburgh qualifies as a "destination" wedding? If so, then I love those! The stamp idea is so charming, and most of our guests will be from out of town... But icon and bloom are also gorgeous! How does anybody make a decision?

  163. Emily E says:

I love the vintage and bloom cards! We are having a very traditional garden wedding with a lot of out of town guests! Thanks!

  164. Audrey K says:

They are all so gorgeous! I would love the destination package in Navy, and have them custom make a stamp for our location or the Vintage suite, beautiful!

  165. Kristan says:

Love the destination designs! Jason and I live in San Diego and love the beautiful beaches and sun so we contemplated doing a beach wedding here. Our minds were quickly changed when his parents offered their charming old farm house in Calistoga (Napa). It did not take much convincing once we pictured celebrating our big day with our close friends and family with lots of wine and a Labor Day barbeque. We're trying to keep it fun, not formal. The destination designs would be the perfect touch to our wedding.

  166. SBH says:

What a great giveaway SMP!! I'm absolutely crushing on the Destination suite. We're getting married in Jackson Hole and I was absolutely thrilled to see that A Day In May had our beloved destination location as one of their options! They really captured the beauty of the Tetons in their design. And I'm madly in love with the itineray/event card in the suite - how perfect for a destination wedding weekend full of activities!

  167. SNH says:

The destination design stamps are adorable - my wedding is in Seattle in October and the 'orange felt' color would be perfect for our tab folder. I also loved the "Wedding Weekend" insert shown in the post; the accompanying icons are a great compliment.

  168. Stephanie says:

We met in Los Angeles. We reconnected in San Francisco. We fell in love somewhere between Lake Tahoe, the Basque Country and Mexico City. Our entire relationship has been punctuated by destinations. We plan to get married at Lake Tahoe in June 2010, before setting off to our next destination, the World Cup in South Africa. (Truth be told, we are actually planning the wedding around our trip to the World Cup!)

Your Destination design is clean, simple, elegant, and embodies our personal style and our passion for travel. Your design is literally a perfect invitation to our family and friends to join us on the journey to the ultimate destination...a lifetime of love and happiness. Thank you!!

  169. Melissa says:

I am hopelessly in love with the icon collection. My fiance and I are having an evening wedding ceremony and reception at the close of summer (Labor Day Weekend) on a farm. The Icon collection would be perfect with the farm icon under tab 10. The field actually resembles the field where our evening reception will be held. I would chose the green color for the type. It would fit in the the natural type of theme that we want for our wedding. I would do a plain invitation and have the invitation belly band in green with the Icon. There is nothing better than classic simplicity and your wedding Signature collection is simply beautiful!!!!

  170. Katya says:

these invitations are beautiful! The foliage design would be perfect for my fall wedding in the Colorado mountains! I also love the destination themed designs.

  171. Adrienne says:

Autumn!! So gorgeous, and it's exactly what I'm going for -- I'm getting married on a farm in late September :)

  172. Lauren says:

The Vintage and Blossom collections are just gorgeous! I how fun and sophisticated they are at the same time.

  173. Loren says:

Love the sunshine style. So cheery and bright and inviting. =)

  174. Lorraine says:

The destination (Chicago) style would be perfect for us as 95% of our guests will be out of towners.

  175. Lindsay says:

My Fiance and I met when we were 15, we have spent 7 of the last 10 years living in different cities only to find ourselves living a few miles apart, on opposite ends of a bridge spanning Tampa Bay. We have spent nearly every day of the last two years together trying to make up for lost time. We will be married in December at a small inn in Hilton Head, SC. Our friends & family will be traveling from across the country to attend our destination wedding and I am in love with the look of the destination invitations. The lighthouse on the Montauk stamp looks just like the Harbour Town Lighthouse on Hilton Head! We are trying to pay for everything ourselves and winning these gorgeous invitations would be AMAZING! Thanks for considering us!

  176. Andrea says:

The Bloom style would be a fit for my 2010 spring garden wedding! I'm looking for something simple yet bright and cheery. These invitations are just perfect!

  177. Robin R says:

LOVE the destination style for our wine country wedding!!

  178. Heather says:

I am in love with the "Vintage" style. Our wedding is set in San Diego and the overall look of the wedding is bringing in the vintage and Spanish style of our venues. This invitation looks like it was created just for us it is so perfect. Invitations are the one thing I can't live without and with the budget getting tighter and tigher with the economy right now it would be so amazing to have such a fabulous invitation! Your whole line is beautiful and any bride who wins this prize is definitely going to be blessed with a gorgeous start to a memorable day. :)

  179. emilou says:

All of the designs are so beautiful- it was very hard to pick. Autumn is so simple and beautiful plus it would be perfect for our October wedding in the Berkshires. Then again Foliage would be lovely as well- since our wedding will be at peak leaf season- so hard to pick, really both are perfect!

  180. Emily says:

I've been looking for the perfect fall invitation for so long. I'm getting married at a Mountain Inn in the Hudson Valley in October. I love the Autumn invitation, it's simple but yet represents all the feelings/beauty that comes with the Fall season. My color pallete is browns, reds, and burnt oranges but I want to keep it simple not to distract from scenic beauty. We're both very excited for the wedding and the invitation is perfect for what our wedding will be, rustic and cozy.

  181. Margo says:

Foliage would be perfect for my October wedding next year! We're doing fall colours with some bright jewel tones mixed in. We've been looking for simple, classic and elegant invitations and these would be awesome! Especially since there will actually be foliage on the ground during this time.

  182. Alice says:

I'm torn between the autumn and destination designs. We're getting married at Nestldown in the Los Gatos Moutains late September so both would work PERFECTLY!!

  183. Morgan says:

Vintage - A tab-folder printed with a romantic, vintage pattern, encloses your invitation and additional cards within. The pattern is printed with the barest hint of neutral color - leaving behind a beautiful texture and impression.

    AHHHMMAAZZING!

  184. Wil says:

Vintage for sure! What an elegant and stylish collection. It would fit with our theme perfectly as we're going for an Art Deco feel. Great work!

  185. Ashley says:

The "Pure Type" is so classic and elegant, the perfect invitation for our fall wedding that is not traditional in the least bit, but still elegant and simple. I would choose cream paper with chocolate brown typing, perfect for our chocolate, cream, and bright granny smith apple green colour palette.

  186. Rachel says:

I love the Destination invites. They would be perfect for our destination wedding in Sonoma!

  187. Nadia says:

We had them design the invitations for our destination Costa Rica wedding and the invites were a fun mix to celebrate the levity and spirit of the occasion.

  188. Jan says:

I think the destination style is super cool and reminds me for some reason of the Leonardo Dicaprio movie, the Aviator?

Anyway, the location of our wedding is a destination for most of our guests (on a mountaintop in PA) and we would be so thrilled to have such beautiful invitations :)

  189. I fell in love with the Pure Type design. The simple elegance of the layout allows the beauty of the calligraphy to shine through. Andy and I both love simplicity combined with tradition and are trying to incorporate this throughout our wedding. Pure Type would set that exact tone with it's clean lines and focus on the centuries old tradition of type face.

Andy and I have been dating for the past 5 years, 2 of which we were separated from one another. He was working as a campus minister in New Jersey and I had moved to southern France in Avignon to teach in their middle schools. For one of those years we were only able to see each other one time. This experience has instilled in us a deep understanding of what it means to truly love one another irregardless of distance. Now, as we have been recently reunited, we are eagerly anticipating our wedding in July of 2010.

  190. Julia says:

I looove the Pure type design. They'd be perfect for our traditional wedding in Chicago. Classy and elegant...I'd love to think of my guests opening these beautiful invites!

  191. Katie says:

Either the Vintage or Destination would be perfect as we are having a destination wedding in a vintage hotel on Orcas Island!

  192. Megan says:

I love these. I love the Destination. I have seen similar designs, but these ones are perfect!

  193. Corley says:

I love the Bloom collection....Not too flowery as the name may suggest. The collection has such a beautiful, simply design.

  194. Nicole says:

I am probably the unluckiest person when it comes to lotteries, raffles, contests and giveaways like this, but I've been the luckiest when it comes to love. I met my amazing fiance when I was 17 and we have spent the past 6 1/2 years growing up together. We got engaged overseas in Italy last August...and now I am SOO excited to be planning our Montauk wedding on July 17, 2010. There is no doubt in my mind that the "destination" wedding invitation design will ABSOLUTELY set the tone for our wedding. Not to mention they will go flawlessly with our Montauk postcard save-the-dates!! The stamps on the outside with the Montauk lighthouse are adorable and the setting overall gives off that simple, creative, playful and chic vibe that I hope will land my own wedding on SMP! :)

  195. Marita says:

Sunshine! I love this one, and it seems to fit perfectly with our casual, chic, outdoor garden affair. And although I was thinking I would use the eggplant color, that orange is just so cheerful and happy, I may have to rethink the color scheme...good thing we don't have bridesmaids dresses yet!

  196. Kim says:

We live and are getting married in Santa Cruz near Natural Bridges State Beach- I love the icon with the wave inside the circle. It's simple and is perfect for our setting and theme.

  197. girlrobot says:

foliage would definitely be the best for us since we are getting married in a garden! :)

  198. Jen says:

I love the Icon set with the little bridge icon! We live in the Quad Cities which is a community spanning the eastern Iowa and western Illinois border. I am from Iowa, and my fiance is from Illinois, so it would be fun to include the bridge icon as our symbol of our wedding day. We are even toying around with having two smaller cakes with a bridge connecting them! Beautiful work!

  199. Julie says:

The Pure Type is classic and perfect for the my fall/formal wedding.

  200. Abby says:

Gorgeous! Letterpress is otherwise out of my budget reach, but I would love to be able to invite our guests to join us in Puerto Rico with the simply lovely Destination invites.

  201. Daisy says:

i can't even begin to describe how excited i was when i saw the image of the sonoma stamp on SMP (yes, it's true... my heart beat a little faster!)!!! i am in the process of planning our destination wedding at a vineyard in sonoma + have been searching everywhere (and i mean, literally EVERYWHERE!) for an invitation design that highlights the Place (with a capital P!)! This perfectly plays up the sonoma/wine country theme while also staying true to our love for simplicity. thank you, a day in may, for this classic design, and thank you, abby, for posting this!!

  202. Laura says:

The destination invitiation would be perfect for our wedding in Chicago (a destination for the majority of our guests). The wedding will be held in an old library and the invite reminds me of a book, which would work perfectly with our theme! Love them!

  203. chrysanna says:

I absolutely love the Destination Collection! We are getting married in the mts. This will be perfect.

  204. Caitlin says:

About seventy-five percent of our wedding guests are flying to our wedding. The destination "Napa" invitation would be perfect for our wedding. We're been in love with the creativity that "A Day In May" has because each of their invitations looks like a piece of art work.

  205. I have been looking for something exactly like this for months! Literally - I'm an elementary art teacher and in between preparing lesson plans, I take little "mental health wedding breaks" and have been looking for a Hawaii themed invitation for our destination wedding in Hawaii. I'm embarrassed to admit how many hours I've spent looking for the perfect invitation so I almost fell out of my chair when I saw these (good thing there weren't any students around - I would have gotten some funny giggles). These are beautiful and would be perfect for our destination wedding in Hawaii. We're getting married outside at night surrounded by tons of candles and our closest friends/family. Since I'm a teacher, our budget is pretty tight so these are something we probably wouldn't be able to afford otherwise. Plus I adore adore adore the event card. Since we're having a small wedding (only about 50 guests) we're planning fun activities from kayaking to high tea, snorkeling and more. I haven't been able to find anyone who makes an event card so these are just perfect! These invites would help make the most exciting and wonderful day of my life that more wonderful. Thank you.

I love the Pure Type style. It will complement our simple, elegant, fall wedding perfectly.

  207. Karen says:

I love the destination styles. It would be lovely for our Newport, RI wedding, where all of our friends and family would be coming in to enjoy a lovely long weekend affair.

  208. Ashley says:

I've never entered a giveaway before, but couldn't resist this time because A Day in May's invitations are so pretty. The entire line is gorgeous, but our personal favorite is the icon with the row of trees, which reminds me of the Santa Cruz redwoods where we're getting married. This is a clean, signature invitation that would set the mood for the entire event. Thanks for offering this opportunity to SMP readers

  209. Kathryn says:

Oh my goodnesss, I love the look of Frost, which would be so perfectly lovely for our December New England (hopefully snowy) wedding, yet the stamps on the destination folders are almost irresistable.

I have loved A Day In May's design for years -long before I even met my future husband. I wanted to hire ADIM for our wedding, but it didn't fit our budget -now even moreso that I just got laid off. This would be a lovely twist of fate if I somehow won (all fingers crossed).

Since my luck isn't this good, I'll just say congrats to whomever the lucky winner turns out to be!

  210. Cris says:

We are getting married at a Vineyard in Los Olivos with only our closest family members and friends - 20 guests! I love the destination invitation line and the vineyard stamp would be just perfect for our wedding! I have always admired A Day In May's designs, but unfortunately they were out of our price range. Because we have such a small group it has been very difficult to find affordable letterpress invitations - please make our dream of letterpress invites come true :)

  211. Emily Bacon says:

VINTAGE WAS MY IMMEDIATE FAVORITE. We're throwing a Valentine's 2010 "Vintage Valentine's Soiree" wedding... and these would be just gorgeous. Love your products! p.s. Pure Type is a close 2nd... beautiful!

  212. Kimberly says:

Despite living in Alexandria, Virginia, we are planning our 5/9/09 Georgetown nuptials as a 'destination' wedding for our family and friends, many of whom have never met before. He's Jamacian by way of Connecticut, and I'm Swedish by way of Iowa, so after an engagement on top of the world map at DC's Navy Memorial, we are planning a wedding at the House of Sweden embassy in Georgetown on the waterfront. The thing our guests need now is a map to guide them from the hotel on the brick streets of Washington down to our waterfront ceremony and reception site. For our "Day in May," A Day in May's custom maps would be the ultimate chic, elegant guide to our family and friends as they navigate the city before our ceremony.

  213. Nicole Story says:

I really love the destination wedding invitation style. It fits us perfectly because we are getting married on top of a mountain overlooking other local North Carolina mountains. Our location is perfect and we are truly blessed to have found it and with such a wonderful woman because we are trying to do our whole wedding under 3,000. I know I am marrying the right man because everything just seems to be falling in place and what hasn't, just becomes unimportant!

  214. Caroline says:

The "pure type" invitation is beautiful! We are having an outdoor wedding --- in an open field with a large oak tree. We love simple and elegant - and the invitations would reflect that! Ivory paper with navy lettering - I can see it already!

  215. Vivian says:

The Pure Type invitation is classic and timeless. It can be easily modified to any wedding! I love the simple look with the intricate font.

  216. sharon says:

I am in love with the destination style! My wedding will be in our hometown in Michigan, but a good portion of our guests will be coming from all over the country as well as India where my fiance's family is originally from. This would be a wonderful way to bring the out-of-towners to our home!

  217. Elaine says:

The vintage style is incredible. My fiance and I love the design. It would be a perfect component for our wedding.
    Thanks!

  218. Catherine says:

I love that all the designs in the gallery are simple and timeless. My favorites are Vintage and Autumn - they both have such lovely, delicate details! Truly elegant. Either would be perfect for our wedding - a fall evening at a vintage opera house in my hometown.

  219. KC says:

i love the simplicity of the pure type!

  220. charles says:

The Destination invitations-Maui component, will introduce our guests to the Spirit of Aloha! The Chocolate and Orange Felt paper colors are our favorites! We've never seen these "stamp-like stickers," and it will only add to our vintage Hawaii postage stamps when we mail them out. Thanks for the opportunity.

  221. Jill says:

I really like "Frost"--perfect for a winter wedding, and so neat that there are different snowflakes!

  222. Holy moley!! What a great giveaway!!!! It's sooo hard to choose, but I'm drawn to the "Vintage" design - I love the pattern. Thanks so much for the chance!

  223. Sarah says:

The Destination style with a navy folder, navy ink and white felt paper would coordinate perfectly with our destination wedding this summer on the coast of Maine. The scene on the Nantucket stamp would translate well for our Boothbay Harbor location, but it would also be cool to create a new Maine stamp with a lobster image, or to use our own original navy and white lobster buoy wedding logo. Thank you for the opportunity...

  224. Georgina Priest says:

The destination wedding invites would be perfect for our wedding next January in Auckland, New Zealand. Guests will be coming from around the world, and these invites will help add a real 'destination' flavour. The cornflower blue and white will go perfectly with our colour scheme. They are the most gorgeous invites I have ever seen! Thanks for the chance to enter :-)

  225. Jonna S. says:

I visit this website often to gather real wedding inspiration, ideas, and SMP finds. I saw these invitations and reiterate the sentiment of all of the brides-to-be when saying these invitations are so elegantly crafted. My fiancé and I are being married at a winery in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in October. I loved the SMP find, the destination collection, but I am not certain if our destination is comparable to Maui, Aspen, Napa/Sonoma Valley, Sydney and the other destinations featured?!? After visiting A Day in May Design's website, the chocolate and taupe foliage collection would fit perfectly with our vision of the rustic vineyard theme. My husband-to-be has generously agreed to pay for most of the wedding and so I am trying to stay within reason for the invitations. This would be an amazing gift for him, so I simply had to enter. Thanks to SMP and A Day in May Design for the chance to enter this giveaway. As a side note, I loved reading everyone's story. Good luck to all!

  226. Brianne B. says:

I love the icon one! I would definitely pick one of the flowers, but I would have to ponder thoroughly for which one! :)

  227. Chandra says:

The pure type is perfect for my wedding. It is feminine, chic, and beautiful. LOVE it!

  228. john says:

The destination invitation design is just what we want and need. My fiance and I are planning an aesthetic and hopefully eternally memorable-- for ourselves and our guests-- wedding in Montauk for next year, and this invitation would be the key that opens the door to the wedding of our dreams. We've been searching for an invitation that not only speaks to us and our vision for our wedding day, but is also beautiful enough to be saved as a keepsake and a memory for our family and friends. We have found what we are looking for. As a young couple without unlimited resources, this invitation givaway would be an extraordinary gift for us both.

  229. Kristi says:

Tough choice! They are all beautiful and inspired. Although I was first drawn to the Sunshine (we are getting married this summer in a garden outside in Cape Cod), I eventually was won over by the Icon design. We are planning on using all wildflowers from a local garden (with sunflowers as the accent), and would therefore love to include either the sunflower or wildflower icon. Perfect! It also must be said that the Destination stamps are ingenious. In my ideal world I would be able to include that aspect as well, as this will be a destination wedding for most. Thanks for sharing these great ideas!

  230. brie morgan says:

I absolutely LOVE the "Icon Signature Collection"! It has the possibility to be both simply yet intricate with its design and appearance. I have always envisioned my wedding guests opening up an invitation that truly excites them about "the big day". Choosing the Charcoal and Grass selections from the ink palette would complement the classic southern outdoor charm that I am trying to create. Using one of the whimsical floral icon options would be ideal to blend all elements and color schemes into my chic outdoor wedding celebration!

  231. Junage says:

I love bloom! This perfectly ties in with our outdoor ceremony and daytime reception by the water. While we're taking advantage of the waterside location, we still plan on having an elegant reception. Plus the purple in the sample matches our purple and yellow color scheme perfectly.

  232. Lindsay says:

The entire collection of invites are stunning! A Day in May really sets the bar high when it comes to invites! Since the engagement, I must admit...I've been overwhelmed by this entire process but these invites get me excited and inspired. I particularly adore the ICON invites -- they're gorgeous in red and the simple heart icon really says it all.

  233. Meghan says:

Oh my....Beautiful,classic,stunning!! The destination theme in pink and cream would be a dream!!

  234. Lauren says:

The FROST design is exactly what I'm looking for for my snowflake-themed December wedding!

  235. Jessie says:

Matt & I are being married the day after Christmas. We are both of different faiths and have tried to theme the wedding to winter and the frost (snowflake) design is our favorite.

  236. Ida says:

What a gorgeous set of invitations! I'd love the autumn suite printed in gold for our fall harvest-themed wedding.

  237. Marci Hulbert says:

I love love the either the DESTINATION or the REEDS, we are planning a Fall-Harvest wedding in September but are getting married in one of our favorite little towns in Idaho, so either would be perfect. What a beautiful collection...absolutely gorgeous! My sister and i think the details are amazing.

  238. Colleen says:

I absolutely love the third one in the vintage section. It reminds me of a small diamonds and it's just so classy.

  239. Amanda says:

I almost fell over when I saw this giveaway! I love all of their designs, but "Pure Type" really speaks to me and would carry the style of our wedding. Awesome giveaway!

  240. RTW says:

What jaw-droppingly beautiful invitations! I am floored by this giveaway-- thanks so much! My favorite is the seashell; it'd be perfect for our casually elegant socal beach wedding!

  241. Meghan says:

All of your invitations are so beautiful it was tough to decide!

I think my favorite is the "Destination" set. My fiance and I have an August, Boston Wedding and everyone attending from out of town. Three of the six years of our relationship have been long distance so letters have great meaning to both of us :) We love the stamp!

The wedding will be in the city though we want people to have a real New England experience. My palate is navy blue and fuchsia. Thanks for the opportunity to enter for the giveaway.

  242. Payal says:

    They are all beautiful!

I love the Puretype.. it looks very modern, but romantic at the same time. We are getting married in a beautiful mansion in October..our wedding will be a mix of two different cultures, with a modern, but fun themed ceremony, and modern but romantic reception. I think this invitation will highlight our day beautifully.

  243. Shannon says:

The Signature Collection for A Day in May Design is so simple and perfect! I like the clean look of the invitations. I adore that you can add custom touches.

My favorite is the Vintage. My wedding will be in an old house with gardens. There will be different vintage and antique silver vases on each table. The colors are platinum, lipgloss pink, and burgandy. The detail on the Vintage would go perfectly with the inspiration for my vintage wedding--my mother's antique sterling bowl with an etched design.

  244. Elizabeth says:

The Signature Collection is fantastic! I love that A Day in May said themselves that the "Destination" invitation was meant for non-destination weddings. That is my favorite, and I think it's perfect for my non-destination wedding. The wedding is in Florida, and it would be nice to highlight the location. Many guests will likely consider the weekend a nice getaway from their much colder cities. The "Destination" will entice our guests to make a trip south for winter!

  245. DL says:

We are jonesing pretty badly for A Day in May's "Destination" invitation set. Our upcoming September wedding will be in Memphis, and with our families traveling from CA, NY, China, and Canada, we're pretty set on giving a proper introduction to the birthplace of blues and BBQ.

The whole ordeal is going to be a casual, kick-back and dance sort of thing that is focused on celebrating friends and family. We don't really have wedding colors, but I imagine we'll work with red and a netural (beige, white, etc), and keep everything very minimal and simplistic.

Thanks for the opp and keep up the great work!

  246. Berta says:

The "Vintage" design in the Sisntaure Collection is just great. Our wedding will be pale pinks, metallics, and turquoise. The damask we plan to use as a backdrop cloth for our "photo booth" would go perfectly with this design. A Day in May Design really must have thought out which designs they would include in their Signature Collection--there really is something for everyone!

  247. kate says:

I am completely torn between the Frost and the Pure Type designs. They are both so beautiful and romantic. We are getting married in January, and I love the idea that our guests could open one of these and get an instant feeling for the wedding we are planning. What a generous giveaway!

  248. Craig says:

Wow... I kind of wish we decided to have the wedding in Sonoma instead of the honeymoon. The DESTINATION design is great. Our wedding will be pink and black. There will be lots of crystal vases on the tables. The PURE TYPE seems to suit our style best though. It's elegant and simple.

  249. Hapah says:

I can't decide which one is my favorite... if I had to, I guess it would come down to the Pure Type vs the Destination. I love the gorgeous textures of the invitations!

  250. Holly says:

I love the Pure Type. It is exactly what I have in mind. We are getting married at a historic building, and this style is perfect.

  251. Lauren says:

So hard to choose! Beautiful invitations! The vintage was the first that caught my eye, the pure type fits our simple tastes, and although ours isn't a destination wedding and not in San Fran I fell in love with the trolley stamp- it could be used to usher our guests back in time to our wedding location- a victorian renovated trolley barn that sits in our city- how perfect! Any of these would be an amazing gift!

  252. Justin says:

Not style obsessed, not a bride, but when Sarah showed me these invites, I was impressed. Loved the destination line for our wedding. We are inviting our South Florida friends and family to spend the weekend in the mountains of NC. Haven't picked colors yet, but pretty sure green will be one of them.

  253. Pearl says:

oh, the destination invitations are my favorite! Even though we're having the wedding in our hometown of Santa Barbara, it's somewhat of a destination for our out of town guests.

  254. sgg says:

Definitely very difficult to choose! The classic style cannot be beat and would work perfectly with our classic san francisco wedding. But you also cannot go wrong with the icon, and although a personalized icon would be great, we really couldn't design anything better than the golden gate bridge as the icon for our wedding. Given the opportunity, we would love the to use these beautiful invitations!

  255. Laura says:

I absolutely LOVE these invites. They are so unique and creative; a fresh breath from the "standard" invites (Thank goodness!). We are having a mountain wedding and any "outdoor" design would work perfectly; sunshine, foliage, autumn, frost, bloom, destination, any of it! The sunshine collection and the destination collection are my ABSOLUTE favorites though. Our wedding will be a destination wedding for many of our guests, although we have the great honor of calling it home; beautiful Steamboat Springs, CO. I think these invites are a great way to get people excited about the wedding and dress up the invitation in a fun way. It really personalizes the invitation They are elegant, classy, and modern. They are fabulous; they are a beautiful form of art! I could only wish to send something this beautiful for our invitations!

  256. Jillian says:

I love the Vintage...it would be perfect for our Napa wedding. All of the designs are fantastic!

  257. Megan says:

My relationship with my husband-to-be began in letters. It started with quirky blurbs and sketches and evolved into much more as we spent a year on opposite coastlines. I know the anticipation for the mailman. I know the delight of opening the box and finding a deliciously long, white, heavy envelope waiting for me. We have them all still--boxes brimming with thoughts, dreams, and plans that are culminating in a few short months. The Destinations design caught my eye immediately with the stamp detail. What a lovely way to share part of our love story with our friends and family.

  258. Damia says:

The first present my fiance gave to me was a beautiful watercolor of a fall vineyard scene. It's hanging in our living room now, and our wedding colors are based on that special piece of art. The Foliage invitation would complement our wedding theme perfectly!

  259. heather says:

look no further! please delight me with "Pure Type" for my wedding invitations!

all of the designs are superb, but this speaks to me and fits into my wedding BEE-YOO-TIFULLY. it's classic, simple, elegant. which is precisely what i am striving for for our day in July in Santa Barbara. we're having an intimate family ceremony - keeping the focus on good friends, family & love. (and food and drink)

i'm a girl in love with paper. and in love with letterpress. and in love with my fiance.
but too bad for me I have no budget for anything remotely like this...so a win would knock my socks off!

    thanks so much

  260. caedmon says:

On another day in july...my partner and I are celebrating our marriage in the Olympic National Park. Not exactly Aspen, but I think the destination design (with a slight tweak in the name) would do the trick (trees, mountain...), beautifully. Its a big trek for many of our guests and I want them to feel that their trip out to the pacific northwest rainforest is a special destination.

Your designs are all stunning. Good luck girls in your latest invitation line, and good luck to me in this great giveaway!

  261. Caitlin says:

oooh...how fun! I'm totally letter (im)pressed. My roommate is getting married next year and I am helping to plan the event. These invites would make a great gift (especially with limited my budget!) Destination with a mountain theme in burnt orange...Cait

  262. Elizabeth says:

I have spent HOURS in the stores pouring over invitations and haven't seen anything as adorable as these. I LOVE letterpress and these would be perfect for our June wedding on the coast of Maine!

  263. mtt10 says:

Stunning. I love the understated elegance of these invitations, and who can resist the luxe texture of letterpress? My favorite is the Icon invitation with the Kauai icon, we're planning our DW for the north shore. It's one of our favorite places on earth, and I know our guests would be so excited to get these beautiful invites in the mail to tell them about our wedding plans.

  264. MEG says:

Your invitations are hands-down perfection. I would love to use 'Sunshine' for my own wedding this summer. It works perfectly with my color scheme and would be a great prelude to the fun day we aim to create. It is so fresh and not too cutsy or overdone. I love it!

BUT I am actually submitting this comment in hopes that I might win for one of my best girlfriends. Shhhhhhhh don't tell her! She is having a small, DIY summer wedding (she and her adorable fiance are footing the bill) and I know she wants letterpress invites from the bottom of her heart, but they just don't fit into her budget. I don't know which one she would choose...maybe Icon--in a muted color--because it is chic and has an understated style--just like her!

  265. Mary Kate Raffetto says:

I think the Vintage design is simply exquisite! They're all so pretty though, it's hard to decide. We're going with an old world theme, so this might be the perfect thing.

  266. Mary Kate Raffetto says:

Lookiung at them again though, the Pure Type ones are simply beautiful. There's something so elegant about a beautiful type face with very few other design elements. I love it!

  267. Sarah Regensdorf says:

Our "Day in May" wedding is set for 5.15.10. Hard to select a favorite...toss up between Sunshine in the pumpkin or a put our spin on a Destination in the copper.

  268. Ruby says:

Sigh... what beautiful work! I'm a bridesmaid in my cousin's very small wedding, family only. Since I'm still in school and can't help out financially, I've been trying to do as much DIY stuff for her as I can, but I know these letterpress invites would completely blow her away. Plus, our grandmother would be so happy to have one of these as a keepsake to put away in her old cedar memory chest! I think her favorite would be the pure type, simple and elegant.

  269. Caitlin Hicks says:

I swoon over letterpress, but there is no way we could ever afford them for our wedding. Our wedding will have a classic yet slightly rustic look, which I think letterpress embodies wonderfully. Our wedding will be held at a barn in Vermont on January 17, 2010. It is a destination wedding for most of our guests, and I love the clean, chic, simplicity of the destination invitations. I would use the chocolate paper for the exterior and eggplant as the ink for the stamp as olive, purple, and brown are our colors. I love the snowflake design of the boulder stamp. It says "winter" without being over-the-top and reminds me of a quilt pattern. Textiles will feature strongly in our wedding as my mother is knitting scarves and shawls for the wedding party and sewing us a quilt that we will use as our guest book. Winning this giveaway would be a great gift--my birthday is March twentieth!

  270. How delighted I was to see that lovely San Miguel de Allende was one of the destination options for the Day in May Designs. My fiance and I first fell in love with the quaint artist colony in 2004 on our first trip down to see his parents. Five years and multiple visits later, there is no where else in the world we'd rather celebrate our marriage than in San Miguel. For most of our guests, this will be their first time in San Miguel and the 'Day in May-Destination' invitation would be the perfect way to welcome them to one of our favorite spots in the world. Choosing colors for the wedding has been a fun challenge--how is one to find colors that will both complement and be distinct from the San Miguel palate? A deep red is a must for this color scheme; cherry red to be exact. And print No. 1, option C--I am a sucker for clean lines and lowercase type. Thank you for this giveaway Day in May Designs! We are on our way to San Miguel tomorrow and writing about our wedding and love for San Miguel was such a great way to start the weekend.

  271. Zachary Calhoun says:

I know my fiance really loves the Destination line. It's our anniversary next week, and I would love to be able to surprise her with this! We're both college students, so our budget is limited. Winning this would be a fantastic help for us. She was on the blog looking at this post and I made a note to come back and enter. So please help me surprise her!
