Thank you so much to Leah and Michael for giving us a glimpse into their beautiful day. We love that you looked towards your own unique style and personality to dictate the tone and details of your wedding…it is inspiring to no end. And, to Stephanie Rae Hull of Centric Photography for sharing the gorgeous photographs with us. They are little works of art.

OH! And check out Michael’s band Whooping Crane…very cool!

where did you get your headpiece veil? I have been looking for something exactly like that. Thanks!
Glad you like it! http://kenleycollins.com/shop/
This was an unbelievably beautiful wedding, and your dress is the best part!
LOVE your blog!! Always so classy!
Wow! This is my favorite wedding I've seen profiled. I adore the favors and the personal touches throughout!! Is the dress JCrew? It looks very similar to the one I've been eyeing on their website but I am apprehensive buying it online without trying it on. Also, I am so impressed with the budget and how it didn't sacrifice any of the charm or elegance of the wedding. I was curious as to the final headcount. Also, what percentage of the budget was spent on the photography? I am struggling to find a photographer to fit my budget and your photos are gorgeous!
Katie, yes, it is the J Crew dress. It's gorgeous and well-made, I'd definitely recommend it. They have a great return policy, in fact I returned my first try-- it fits about one size larger than usual (so order a size down), and is also a little big on top-- I had it altered. The headcount on the reception was 55, with a 4 course, seated dinner, open bar cocktail hour and wine and beer over dinner and after. We then had a party at a nearby bar/ dance club that friends dj'd for us which had a cash bar and was open to everyone. We did our first dance there. Having the dancing at a separate venue allowed us invite all of our friends, which we otherwise could not have afforded. Our photography cost us about 20% of our budget.
Glorious, glorious wedding. Love the sweet details and that this fabulously chic looking event was a mere $8500! Small guest list definitely helped, no doubt.
Wishing I lived in a town that had historic, vintage buildings that didn't cost the moon!
Its very romantic and I love the dress... The photography was also great! Can't wait to have a wedding of my own...
Congrats! I am desperately trying to come up with budget friendly ideas and inspirations. Where can i see more photos of your special day? Thanks Leah.
Again, beautiful photographs. I used to visit Victoria quite and bit and the harbor around the Empress Hotel was always a beautiful place to hang out in the summer. There wedding photos bring back some good memories. Well done!
