Love, love, love. That is all there is to say about today’s featured wedding. The bride and groom are that cool couple that you always want to have at your dinner parties. The ones that bring a really great, artistic flair to the scene…with a style is relaxed chic, vintage inspired, undeniably great.

From Leah, the gorgeous bride…
After the wedding, we chose to have a seated dinner in a loft at the Canoe Brewpub, Restaurant and Marina. Right on the water, CANOE is located in a 1894 heritage landmark building that has a fantastic feel of a loft crossed with a warm log cabin– perfect for a winter’s evening. Right along with our food philosophy, Canoe showcases local farmers and a changing menu of seasonal organics, the finest cuts of meat and wild seafood. We chose to showcase British Columbia in our choice of wines and wild salmon. We gave a nod to New York and the USA with a New York Steak, and a red velvet wedding cake.
We then all walked up the street to the Lucky Bar for our first dance and all the frivolity to follow! The Lucky is a bar a friend of mine had opened, and with which I had helped out with the original decor and design. As such, it echoed with memories of countless evenings of good times. We are “lucky” enough to count many musicians and djs as friends, and so Gregg D of New York and Rusty Seger of Philadelphia spun “block-rockers from back in the day” for us to get down to.
So much more to come!
I'm curious - what types of songs make up "block-rockers from back in the day"? My fiance and I love music, but we're 10 years apart, making our "favorites" quite different. I'm wondering if there's an era of rock that we can agree on. :)
Hahaha! Well, check out our DIY wedding cd favour for some hints. We walked down the aisle to three songs from 1966: God Only knows, by the Beach Boys; If I were a Carpenter, Bobby Darrin; and Oh How Happy, by Shades of Blue (recessional song). Michael made a 4 hour play list on our ipod for the dinner part of the reception-- mostly 60s and 70s Philly soul, mustache rock, jazz, and all kinds of eclectic things-- he's a musician and a DJ, who firmly believe that very little good was recorded after 1971!Our DJ friends spun similar music at the party. And the good thing is, most of that stuff is great to dance to.
Now i want to know what mustache rock is! =)
Love the venue... dark, romantic. Very stylish couple too.

very stylish couple
OMG your husband's taste in music sounds like my Fiance's! Someone pinch me. I have seen a similar venue in my area, but they don't have chandeliers! :( I mean who refurbishes a place like this and adds modern lights?
I would love to find a venue like yours Leah, it's exactly what I am looking for. I love the warmth, it looks so inviting. By the way, green is my favorite color and I love how you have incorporated it.
Thank you! :)
