We’re featuring a very memorable, Puerto Rican-inspired Rehearsal Dinner Party sent to us by the super wedding and event planning team at AK Event Design based in Dallas, Texas. The groom’s sister, Sarah, along with Angie & Kristin planned this party at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego,CA. These ladies LOVE creating unique and personal events and had a particularly great time with this one!

From Kristin: “For the favor at the end of the evening, we created a ‘garden of love’ with tropical cookie flowers. Within the wheatgrass we tucked hibiscus, orchid and plumeria-shaped cookies. Bags and stickers were provided that said ‘Buenos Noches’ !”

Kathy Wright and Company transformed the area into an absolutely lush tropical oasis!

The invitations, designed by Simply Personal in Dallas are just fantastic!

Part I of Kate & Jason’s Rehearsal Dinner can be viewed {here}. It looks like is was one fabulous party!
A huge thanks to Boucher Photography for the great images! And Kristin, Angie and Sarah … AK Event Design is awesome!

Wow, I adore these bright colors! And her dress is absolutely beautiful--love the ruffles at the neckline.
her dress is amazing!
I wish people in Australia did amazing rehearsal dinners the way the US do, we normally just go out to dinner at a restaurant or have a bbq in the park.

how pretty is that yellow cocktail dress!!!!! And the bright lovely sun, rainy Vancouver sure appreciates it. :)
Simply Stunning!!! I adore the colors!!!
Does anyone know where the dress is from?
OMG! Where did she get that dress?!??! I want it!
Is there any way to get more details on how they made their guest book? I love that idea.
I love that dress too - any ideas where it is from?? Its gorgeous!
Likewise! That dress is fantastic- anyone know where to buy? :)
Kate's dress is Nanette Lepore and was purchased at Neiman Marcus. I had such a fun time planning this fun event and especially because it was for my brother and sister-in-law. Thanks for all the wonderful comments!
that dress is to DIE for! & I just love the cookie garden idea.
This is a classy spin on a fun them. This look fun but is done in such a way that it can be pulled off for a modern wedding. How cool!
The guest book idea was something fun and differnt we came up with because the traditional guest book did not really fit our fun theme of the evening. I am fortunate to have a husband who owns a printing company, so he was able to create them for us using the same design as the belly band from the invitation. I wrote the copy and sent it to the art department for layout. It is absolutely a fun DIY project you can do at home. My only advice is make sure you print them on a heavier weight paper.
After the wedding my mom created a very cute scrap book for Kate and Jason with photos from the night and all the 'guest book' pages.
LOVE IT!
xoxo Marie
