Today’s featured Little Black Book Photographer is Amanda Kraft, an amazing talent in Pennsylvania. But as you all know, amazing photographers almost ALWAYS have the itch to travel … pretty much anywhere! Seriously, always keep that in the back of your mind. If you see a photographer’s work (or a cinematographer or pretty much any other wedding professional mentioned here on SMP and the LBBB), more than likely, they would LOVE to talk to you! That’s why we always encourage you to take a look at their websites and blogs, no matter where you are having your wedding. Sorry, off my soapbox … and back to today’s wedding!
A lonnnnng time ago, Amanda sent us one of her favorite weddings and as luck would have it, one of those pesky little SMP elves came around and buried the images deep within our overflowing SMP gallery. Eeeeeeee–gads! Should I even admit that? But all is well now at SMP, and Caitie and Mike’s wedding was re-discovered … it’s simply charming.
Caitie and Mike’s Appleford Estate Wedding in Villanova, Pennsylvania from Amanda Kraft Photography…

During the ceremony one of Caitie’s bridesmaids sang a song entitled “Favorite Day,” bringing tears to everyone’s eyes. Guests enjoyed cocktails on the grounds at Appleford, with a tented dinner and dancing following.

Fun Wedding Story From Caitie … “For the rehearsal dinner I had one of my bridesmaids alter my mothers floral polyester wedding dress to something halter and shorter. It looked great and my mother loved it! We had a picture of her in it next to the placecards. We didn’t realize it until later, but her dress was the exact colors I had already picked for my wedding! Spooky!”

Amanda asked Caitie, “If there is one thing that you want to express about your wedding day, what would it be?” Her reply, “It was the most fun I have ever had at a wedding! The energy was amazing, and I didn’t want the evening to end!”

How they met? Caitie and Mike first met while Caitie was waiting tables on a Sunday afternoon in December. Mike came in because it was cold out and she decided to give him whatever he wanted free, just to get him to stay. They’ve been together since Dec. 2001.

Caitie’s proposal story … “During a trip to Rome, Mike proposed. He ended up having to go with his “plan C” because plan A, the Spanish Steps, was a bust (drunk teenagers everwhere) and then I ruined plan B, the Opera. I had been up for 36 hours from the flight and was tired. He proposed in our cute little hotel room in the morning after a good night sleep, starting his proposal with “Do you wouloooooolike this room?”

A few more of the details from Caitie and Mike’s wedding …
Wedding Gown Designer and Description: Atelier Aimee. Strapless, empire waist, pearl beading on the top and silk charmeuse on the bottom.
Tux Designers: Demetrios, Destiny Sand, Two Button Notch Suit.
Something Blue, Something New, Something Borrowed? Blue was the garter from her mother, old & borrowed was her great grandmother’s handkerchief and something new was the dress.
Cake: Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Caitie opted for 5 flavors of cupcakes from Doughmain Baked Goods (cute name for a baker!).
Floral Design from Offshoots: The centerpieces were made of red & green grapes and green apples, roses, daisies, fiddle head ferns and hydrangeas.

where are the bridesmaids dresses from?
Love the centerpiece, they're really beautiful !
Hi Ladies!
I emailed Caitie and am trying to find out where the bridesmaid dresses are from. Caitie and Mike recently re-located so it might be a little while before we hear back. Hopefully, Caitie will stop by and answer any questions and I will keep you updated as well.
Amanda
yes, yes, details on the bridesmaid dresses, PLEASE!
Great concept with the green apples! (Stacked up in the cylinder vases, then incorporated in with the flowers the low centerpieces? Adorable!) Great color combination, very fresh and pretty...
Those centerpieces are so lovely.
Beautiful! Does anyone happen to know what kind of pink cocktail the guest is holding in the photo? I am looking to use a pink cocktail just like that one!
I agree with Jenn--something about the apples is so classic but makes you feel right at home. Beautiful.
Hey ladies! Thanks for the comments! The bridesmaid dresses are from Jcrew! All the girls were able to pick out the style (out of 10 different ones) they wanted in the one color, wine...unfortunately that color is no longer available, but they have a ton more and the quality is amazing! I have order two of their bridesmaid dresses just for myself and love them! Truely a dress you can wear again!
It was the best wedding I have ever been to. It was beautiful, classic, and elegant. The bride and groom are some of my favorite people.
Megan: It is called a pink martini which is vodka, Raspberry liqueur, Triple sec, Pineapple juice, splash cranberry juice
I absolutely love the color of the dresses!
I look at Style Me Pretty everyday, and I was so excited to see Mike and caitie's wedding posted! Not only do I know them, but it looks like it was a beautiful wedding!
Where did she get the china?! I would love to use chinaware like that, but can't find it anywhere.
What a pretty bride! I love all the details and the yummy purple bridesmaids dresses.
Beautiful Wedding!
1. Please share more info about the china!
2. More importantly, I'm sure we'd all LOVE to see a photo of the mother's dress that she wore to the reahearsal dinner! You bated us by telling us about it and now I need to see a picture.
Thank you!!!
I love the idea of the mismatched antique china! More details please!
We added in a personal photo of Caitie's rehearsal dinner dress. We're hoping Caitie will check back in on the question about the china. We really love the idea of mismatched antique pieces at just about any wedding, too!
Hello Ladies - I am thrilled that Caitie and Mike's wedding was featured. They were a lovely couple for my company's wedding consultant, Merissa Kilbrith, and me to work with. You asked about her china plates and I thought I would let you know that they were provided through the caterer. Sheryl Garman, President of Perfect Weddings, LLC
Hi Ladies!
The antique china plates were from Party Rental, LTD - they are called the Fleur Dinner Plates (4 different styles). What a beautiful wedding AND a perfect couple.
I will try and get my parents wedding picture scanned too, so you can see the transformation her dress had...plus it's a great 70's moment!
Hi again - I'm so embarrassed...my post above was typed in error! The china plates were from the rental company, not the caterer. Sheryl
LOVE LOVE LOVE this wedding! My fav yet on this site. Beautiful, classic, unique, personal and coherently designed without being over-styled or matchy-matchy. You really nailed it! Congrats.
Definitely one of the best wedding pictures! Love the photos, thanks for sharing.
I helped on the day of Mike and Caitie's wedding as an intern for Perfect Weddings. This wedding was everything these pictures make it seem! It was absolutley beautiful with a million personal and impeccable details not to mention the wonderful bride, groom, bridal party and family!
After extensive research, I found that the china is called Andrea by Sadek Sevres Porcelain. You can order it here (I did because I loved it so much in this post).

The bridesmaids' dress color is actually available again---it's called spiced wine---comes in different fabrics. Mine are wearing the Cotton Cady fabric, which has 4 or 5 different styles.
