Honest-To-Goodness Real Wedding: Joelle and Chris

February 18th. 2009 by Eddye | Filed Under | 12 comments

Some days, (we hate to admit) we get in a bit of a rush and one very special wedding slips by, only to be re-discovered months later. Case in point … Chris and Joelle’s charming, charming wedding day, sent to us by our great Little Black Book member, Jessamyn Harris.

Joelle and Chris were married in Aptos, California, at the adorable Valencia Community Hall. Theirs was a hands-on, DIY affair that resulted in a true Style-Me-Pretty-Proud Day!

Real Wedding: Joelle & Chris From Jessamyn Harris Photography

I love to be greeted by a single stem in a special vase at each place setting. Always a warm and welcoming gesture.

Isn’t Joelle just radiant? And her dress soooo beautiful?  The brilliant flowers … LOVE ‘em!

Seriously cute pumpkins all-in-a-row. And I kind of want to know what’s in the adorable favor boxes.

Joelle and Chris make me smile.

What a perfect, perfect wedding. Seriously.

Congratulations Joelle & Chris. Your day was filled with true warmth, love and “specialness”!

Thank-you, Jessamyn for sharing your fabulous photos with us.

{One more update! Jessamyn Harris, today’s LBB featured photographer, is running an engagement photo session contest. She’s looking for unique ideas, original locations, and offbeat themes. All you have to do is email her [jessamyn@jessamynharris.com] to be entered into this giveaway! But here’s the best part … you don’t even have to be engaged – She’s just looking for a pair of people who love each other, and who want to get crazy and silly with over the top ideas, or a beautiful location that is new to her. Please read the details here on Jessamyn’s blog!}

  1. I just wanted to note that Joelle and Chris had a lot of DIY elements - they arranged their own flowers, silkscreened the vases, made and put up the decorations in the hall, and even silkscreened cute little favor bags for the kids that attended the wedding!
They also had a Dean Martin impersonator for an additional unique touch :)

  2. Lindsey says:

Where are the vases from? I love them!

  3. Joelle says:

The vases are from CB2. Chris and I designed the image and had a stamp made, then stamped our wedding date onto each one using "glass paint" that we found at the local craft store.

  4. Tobey Ritchie says:

I had the honor of attending Joelle and Chris's wedding-it was truly a magical day! The site, the venue and all of the spaces were amazing. Joelle has true passion for detail and her wedding so reflected her love for color, texture and art.
The day was so beautiful and romantic.
This was a great event and so fun to see it highlighted!

Where did you get stamps customized?

  7. Chris says:

We have used Simon Stamp for several custom stamps. We haven't had a problem yet with them, and they are pretty prompt on getting your order to you.
