Love, love, love. Can’t tell you how much I love today’s real wedding that the fabulous Sara France sent us. It’s such a refreshing wedding…traditional, but not stuffy. Elegant but not over-the-top. Plus, it has all of these great personal touches that just bring it to that next level. LOVE.

The reception was held at Darlington House, a historical site in La Jolla a block away from the ocean.  The Spanish style estate went right along with our personal style and was built with in 5 years of the house we live in.  We both adore the old Spanish style architecture abundant in San Diego, and tied in many of the details of the house into the décor.

We used wrought iron centerpieces in both types of centerpieces to repeat the wrought iron used throughout the historic home.  Half centerpieces stood tall on large wrought iron candelabras dripping with strands of antique crystals and filled with garden style roses, hydrangeas, verbena, lizianthus, and a variety other amazing flowers.

Every other table held a collection of wrought iron candle sticks that I gathered from here and there during the year of our engagement.  The bases were surrounded with various cylinders with floating flowers and candles which were all surrounded by river rocks that all sat in handmade black trays made by Anthony’s grandfather. I also have a large collection of Depression Glass, pieces of which was scattered around the home itself holding flowers and candles.  I worked closely with our florist, who happens to be a close friend and mentor as well as a guest at our wedding, to design our centerpieces to be multidimensional and unique.

The eco friendly and organic food was so amazing that several people managed to consume multiple entrees, including myself!  Anthony and I made it a priority to spend time with guests during the cocktail hour, and to enjoy the food we so painstakingly picked out.  We made time to sit, eat, and enjoy ourselves as well as the company of our friends and family.

More to come!!
