And, what we love even more than the magazine, are the FAB events that they host in the Hamptons, New York, Vermont and the Cape Island. So, when they offered our readers free tickets to their upcoming Hamptons and Cape Cod events, well, we jumped at the chance to feature them! To enter, leave a comment letting us know what your own unique wedding style is…we’ll announce the four winners on Friday! Just make sure you’re in the area so that you can attend.
My friends have told me that my style is modern, feminine, chic. They know I love sparkle, bows, and wearing flowers in my hair just because, but they also know that I like the look to be clean , fashionable, fresh, and up to date/trendy. I am definately trying to incorporate all into my wedding. Our venue, the House of Sweden in Washington DC, is very modern and chic. With a ceiling that lights up and a roof deck overlooking the Potomac. Ofcourse, the feminity of the affair will happen through the flowers, dresses and decor. I see so many beautiful weddings on SMP, but still time and time again I am truly in love with the edgier ones. I hope to capture this at my wedding.
Like the previous poster, I would say my wedding style is feminine, but I would add to that rustic and elegant. I'm drawn to an afternoon garden wedding as often as I am a celebration in a barn lit with vintage chandeliers. I'm not sure how I'll ever pick when the time comes, but hopefully the Well Wed event will expose me to some new ideas and help me hone my style. What a lovely contest!
P.S. I can only attend the Cape Cod event. Thank you!
I'm not sure how unique it is... but I see my wedding style as fun young love! Our wedding is in June so I wanted fun bright colors (no dull bridesmaid dresses for my girls!) that pop, we're having cake centerpieces at each table, and an overflowing candy bar for favors- what's better to put a smile on everyone's faces than turning everyone into a kid-in-a-candy-store at the end of the night!
My style is modern, chic, with hints of traditional elegance. I also love things that sparkle. My wedding is in July at an Inn overlooking the Atlantic. My fiance and I are creating a modern lounge in the garden of the lounge. I am still hunting for chandeliers with some sparkle.
Hi! I just wanted to leave you a quick note because the MOST amazing photographer Joe Mikos is featured on the cover of the Well Wed Cape Cod magazine. I LOVE checking out both of your blogs daily to gather ideas for my upcoming May wedding. If you have never seen Joe's work you should really check out his blog http://www.mikosphotographers.net/ I am psyched to have him as our photographer. I think my style is unique by incorporating glamor, sparkle, girlie, and traditional all while having a small hometown feel. Did I mention the words fun, party or a blast as well? (I hope?!?!) I hope it translates to a fun wedding! Check out Joe's work. I would LOVE to see a blog on it. He is so passionate about his work and a romantic at heart.
Hello! I'm getting married in a few short months on Martha's Vineyard! I LOVE the Well Wed Magazine! Our wedding style is rustic chic with undeniable MV/New England charm! I'd love the opportunity to further familiarize myself with vendors in the MV area!
My fiance and I are not afraid to cross the boundaries of a traditional wedding. I love mixing romantic details with an edgy feel. It's important to me because I consider myself edgy while my fiance is a true romantic at heart and I love to see how our personalities will translate in the wedding details.
Hi there! I've been hooked on SMP... checking everyday for new postings and ideas for my wedding in June, and I'm glad I happened upon this Well Wed event!! I moved to New England a couple years ago, and I must say that my style has definitely evolved since living here. I would describe my wedding style as romantic, elegant, and traditional, yet still with a whimsical touch. We're having a traditional Catholic church ceremony, and I chose a Vera Wang lace gown which embodies romance and elegance. I incorporated a bit of whimsy with a cute hummingbird theme on my invitations. I'm still searching for the perfect ceremony and reception decor - and I hope to find that much-needed inspiration at the Well-Wed event!
I check SMP everyday, thank you so much for the daily inspiration. I am getting married in Chatham, Massachusetts in May and believe it or not, I'm still working on lots of details. Time really flew! I would describe our wedding style as New England sophistication with sentimental touches. My family and I are very close and everyone is playing a role in our ceremony, including my 82 year old grandmother. I really can't wait for the day.
I was so excited about this until I realized that the Hamptons event is...not in the Hamptons. Huntington...really? Oheka Castle is gorgeous, but it's not even in the same county. That's a hefty two-hour drive for a "Hamptons" showcase. I'm confused.
Hi! Just wanted to post a note because I looooove this blog and religiously check it everyday... and I love WellWed as well! They featured my little photo/video company (EVS Media) a couple of times in the Hamptons edition! (Check out Lisa and Rob's featured wedding, pp.58-63, and there are also a few pics from a wedding we shot in which the bride and groom rented beautiful vintage umbrellas, pp.40 and 187). We will be at the Oheka event... which I know is not in the Hamptons, and I was confused by that as well... but I think since the Hamptons is a destination wedding for many, they wanted some place beautiful right in between the Hamptons and NYC. Hope to see fans of this blog there!
My wedding style mimicks that of the movie Marie Antionette (Kirsten Dunst version). I want lavish dessert tables, layers of satin and lace, poofy pastel colored flowers, and little dogs running all over the place (ok, so manybe minus the small animal part). I want an over the top pastel colored cake with calligraphy, tiers, and the whole bit. I am very inspired by the French theme. =D
My fiancé and I live in Boston, but are having a backyard wedding at my parent's home on the North Shore of Massachusetts in August. The style of our day is going to be equal parts homespun, romantic and whimsical. I chose a color scheme that I think will be perfect for late summer: shades of blush, from pink, to apricot, to butter yellow, along with champagne, gold, pale green, and soft brown - these colors to me read summer love and happiness! From there we've just gone about incorporating all of the things we love into our big day (things like poetry and writing, mix tapes, delish Mediterranean food, my great big tree-filled backyard, our family and friends and two mischievous puppies) along with the necessity of doing a lot of great DIY projects to keep costs down (things like baking, sewing, quilting, and embroidery), and from there a distinct style has really been falling into place. To get a feel for the day, here are a few of the other things we have planned: Guests will be greeted by a clothesline full of seating cards, photos of our parents' and grandparents' weddings, photos of family members no longer with us, as well as our mothers' and grandmothers' old wedding gowns blowing the in breeze, homemade floral arrangements that incorporate some beautiful blooms but also lots of greenery from the trees and bushes in my yard along with fresh herbs from my mother's herb garden, mismatched china, a game or two of bocce on the lawn, our beloved dogs serving as the ringbearers (she in a floral collar, him in a dandy bow), and of course good food- antipasto, crusty bread, olives, and sangria to start off dinner, and then sorbet and gelato to mark the end of the reception bleeding over into the after-party. While we certainly have a lot of the lovely details in place already, more than anything we just want a fun and unfussy day to share with our loved ones. We cannot wait until August!
Fun and colorful beach-side August wedding on the Cape where I live. I was just flipping through Well Wed given to me by a photographer who's in magazine. WW definitely makes me look forward to the Ocean Edge event for more inspiration.
