Bridesmaid Dress Picks: Watters

February 10th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 8 comments

It’s hard for me to talk about bridesmaids dresses because I feel like there are SO many places to look…many of which don’t include the standard bridesmaids lines. I love Nordstrom and Bluefly, Banana Republic and some of the smaller national stores. With that said, there is something incredibly easy about ordering from a collection that was tailored for bridesmaids. Take Watters for example…

The dresses are pretty affordable, they are available in a wide range of colors and styles (that you can mix and match which is great) and they work with brides to ensure that their order is produced and shipped in plenty of time to avoid stress and worry. So, needless to say, I was really happy that to see that Watters is also putting out some pretty great new designs to go with their seamless ordering process.

LOVE that top yellow dress…it’s pretty and feminine, while still being modern and chic. My advice when ordering from a bridesmaid collection like Watters is to spend some time in a store trying on the dresses. Some of the styles that aren’t so cute online, are actually really adorable in person. Plus, you get a real sense of what styles look good together, what colors compliment each other, things like that.

I love these dresses! They do look much better in person than online and were more flattering on all my girls than anything we found in the stores. The only downside is that you could only try on the sample so you have to imagine how it will fit in your own size. I chose Watters for my bridesmaids and had them choose out of the 3 brocade dresses in the line - my favorite was/is the v-neck one on the top right above (but in the brocade. Unfortunately, none of my BMs chose it. Oh well.

I LOVE the yellow dress! I thought it would be hard to find yellow dresses that would complement my fair-skinned bridesmaids, and so we were going to go with brown - but today is changing my tune!

Ooh Abby I wish you had posted this dress - hands down the cutest bridesmaids dress I saw in 2008! This picture doesn't even do the dress justice.

my girls wore watters and i LOOOVEd them. They fit perfect, and the fabric was amazing. We picked a dress with duponi silk in the midori color, and it was perfect for our may wedding!

About how much do these usually cost? I'm sure it varies with length and fabric, but just a ballpark would be great...

They are usually around $180-$300 (big spread, I know) depending on long/short and what type of fabric you choose. Hope that helps!

I actually wore a Watters bridesmaid ensemble for my wedding dress. I wanted something tea length and strapless for a Maui sunset beach wedding and Watters had the perfect set... a strapless bodice with an a-line skirt available in white silk dupioni. It was perfect! I'm a huge Watters fan!
