Bridesmaid Dress Picks: Thread

February 10th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 24 comments

Although Thread has been around a while, I actually fell in love with them after seeing a story on the creative director, Beth Blake, in Domino Magazine. Her newest designs are so effortlessly beautiful. Chic without being stuffy or cliche. They are simply beautiful, no other way to put it!

This first set is from her FABULOUS party collection…fun, flirty and totally wearable!

Loving the vibrant color palette, the modern silhouettes, the everything really. There are so many Thread dresses that I absolutely love. Here are a few from their other lovely collections…

I think that my all time favorite Thread dress is that one in the bottom right corner, with the sleeves and the oh-so-chic velvet belt. It’s a cut that you just don’t see in bridesmaids dresses, but one that will certainly start a few trends!

How about a few posts featuring great Mother of the Bride dresses? So far all we can find are these really glitzy cheesy numbers, dresses fit for grandmothers, or strapless/revealing dresses fit more for young adults.

I LOVE THREAD and was really hoping you'd be including them. :)
I just contacted the ladies this week and they so graciously offered to send me swatches in the mail!
I'm pretty much sold on the idea of allowing my bridesmaids to pick their favorite dress from the Party Collection.
    So fun!

  3. Brandi says:

thank you, thank you, thank you for including these thread dresses!! i love the bright colors and range of styles...perfect for my sunny wedding here in Hawaii! =)

  4. Courtney says:

These are adorable. There are so many I would love to try on! I am particularly drawn to the one in the top right corner, the one shoulder number. So cute [& great colour]!

i second the mother of the bride idea! i have been casually looking and what's out there is SO bad!

  6. Wow, I love these dresses! They're so fresh.

  7. KegDesign says:

I LOVE pockets! They look so cute (especially for pictures) and are practical too - the girls can stash their lipgloss, phone and a few bucks in them! Thanks for sharing...

How much do these cost usually?

  9. Will says:

Wow - bridal party dresses have come a long way! We've all seen plenty of nightmarish gowns on brides maids and have quietly chuckled at their expense. These Thread gowns leave nothing to laugh at... Now wedding goers will have to wait until after cocktail hour for sardonic laughter!
