Over the past few years, I’ve watched the world of wedding blogs grow and grow. For a bride, the eye candy is seemingly never-ending, with real weddings, inspiration boards, color palettes and so much more around every corner. Even for me, it can be a little overwhelming.

So, I’ve asked some of my favorite bloggers to share with us their all-time, no holds bar favorite wedding with us. Whether it’s a rustic, chic affair planned with a stylish eye or an eclectic fete with modern touches, they are all spectacular.

The first wedding was sent to us by Ami and Rebekah of Elizabeth Anne Designs

Photographed by Michele M. Waite, it’s sweet, it’s totally romantic and it’s infused with a bright, vibrant color palette.  Here is what the girls at Elizabeth Anne said…”We love this wedding because of the vintage seaside theme, vibrant color scheme and attention to detail.  Nothing was left unfinished and the overall effect was so whimsical and unique! “

I love the bright red of the flowers. What kind are they?

using animals/fish as centerpieces has always bugged me. yes, i am a vegetarian, but it just strikes me odd--to watch a critter swim around while i eat.

and while these guys may/not have been given away to guests or whatnot, i imagine most poor critters end up in the toilet bowl at the end of the night.

i hope you encourage your readers to become more aware of their choices.

    thanks!

I actually loved the fish... Fish have always been one of my favorite animals, and mine last for YEARS and I become so attached to them. In college, the first and only argument I had with one of my best friends/roommates (who is now one of 3 of my bridesmaids) was over my fish. So, for my wedding, I really wanted to have huge hurricane vases with large, fancy tailed goldfish inside, but everyone has been saying that it's such a terrible idea.
I wouldn't send them home with guests--who knows where they'll end up. Not everyone knows how to take care of a fish. I also wouldn't FLUSH them. Don't you think either returning them to a reputable pet store or breeder would be safe?
Also, my reception is only hors d'oeuvres and cake. I also know how to properly care for fish, and they wouldn't be dying in the middle of the reception.
I'm really discouraged that everyone thinks they're such a bad idea. Can it be all that terrible?

I had the pleasure of working on this wedding while employed by Steven Moore Designs. To answer a few of the above questions, the red flowers mainly consisted of carnations, gerbera daisies, and poppies. Although it is probably true that most fish end up discarded at the end of the night, these fish were returned to the pond of a friend whom they were 'borrowed' from. We brought in someone who made sure the water was the right temperature for the fish and added chemicals to ensure a healthy environment for the fish...this was humane, but it also ensured that we didn't have dead fish as centerpieces.
