It’s no secret by now … we LOVE Daria and Andy Bishop’s photography!
We featured Amanda & Jeff’s gorgeous Shelburne Farms wedding just a couple of days ago along with some great reasons on the decision to have a “first look”. If you haven’t already seen it, take a peek!
And back in February 08 Abby featured another of Daria’s weddings … one that a loyal Style Me Pretty reader, Robyn, sent in. Robyn & Keith’s wedding took place at The Round Barn Farm in Waitsfield, Vermont. Robyn said that she had always considered herself fairly creative, but it wasn’t until planning her own wedding that she realized just how much she could do, herself! Here’s the first of the posts from that day. For lots of DIY ideas, be sure and read Part II and Part III. By the way, the color palette was rich! Apple green (chartreuse), deep purples, browns, and ivories. Rich.
So moving on to today’s featured wedding … when we saw Brandi and Marty’s Adirondack wedding on Daria’s blog, our list of photo requests was a mile long! (Andy actually said we were like kids in a candy store …) We have lots of delightful shots from this wedding, and there are tons more on Daria’s blog!
Doesn’t Brandi look like she’s just about to burst with excitement?

Such a doll! I’ll bet this little girl feels pretty important right about now.
Brandi and Marty were married at St. Agnes, an incredible Roman Catholic Church in Lake Placid, NY.

The photo of Brandi (above) won 2nd place in the “Bride Getting Ready” category of the Wedding Photojournalist Association’s quarterly contest! Way to go Daria!

I think Abby and I were having one of our same color karma days today! Her featured wedding (Julia & Brian) also showcases a yummy yellow color palette. Sunshine, joy, happiness … a perfect wedding color!
Now, a word about baby’s breath. Tons of people say they don’t care for it … but when it’s used like this … mmm … gorgeous.

What Daria and Andy can do with color …. !!

If you’ve been following our Little Black Book Blog for long, you know I love a great ring shot … (and precious “mini-maids”).

The reception was held at the Lake Placid Club Golf House (said to have the most beautiful view of the High Peaks in the Adirondacks, with an open-beamed ceiling, a massive stone fireplace & magnificent antler chandeliers).
So, what else can we say? Brandi and Marty, you guys had an awesome wedding. And Daria and Andy, you guys rock!
Beautiful! so charming and lovely! a classic...
I've always LOVED this wedding - so super pretty!
Thanks for the shout out :) I adore this wedding! Daria and Andy you did an amazing job.....the shot with Brandi holding the drink looks like it should be in a bridal magazine!
Gorgeous wedding! And a beautiful bride. Does anyone know where can I find drink stirs like those pictured above? Thanks!

Thanks for the feature! We were so fortunate to work with Daria and Andy!! Melissa, I actually made the cocktail flags. The yellow paper is from PaperSource, I printed them on my home printer, cut them and then used double-sided tape to affix them to bamboo skewers.
perfect! everything!
Daria... You did an amazing job photographing this wedding! Tell the florist she did a beautiful job as well! Can you move the Vineyard!? I told a bride from The Castle in July to take a peek... Hopefully you will book a wedding from it... If you aren't already booked. ...Lynda...
The photographs were awesome, and such a lovely wedding!
Daria and Andy! You captured this event so well! I feel like I was there. Such emotion and feeling! Loving the yellow. xx Tara
These are such beautiful photos! They really capture the excitement of everyone involved. My photographer asked me to give her an idea of what kind of pictures I like and I'm definitely going to show her these. Thanks for sharing them!
Aw, Brandi is an absolutely adorable bride!
the bridesmaid dresses are adorable! where can I find them??
i love how the color palette is unified between shots, selective sharpness and bokeh are divine! Please share with us: What glass were you using for these shots?
Thank you all sooo much for all of the wonderful comments!! Brandi and Marty were such a dream to work with and Andy and I really enjoyed capturing their joy!! To address the lens question... Andy and I use Canon camera equipment and believe in investing in the very best camera bodies and lenses available. I have several favorite lenses and change between them through the day. My getting ready lens is primarily the 50mm 1.2, but I like the 16-35mm 2.8 to get the whole scene. For the ceremony and the portraits I like the 70-200mm 2.8. Andy uses a 100mm macro for the rings. We like other lenses, but these are our very favs. Have a beautiful day everyone!! <3 <3 <3
I agree with Daria, thanks for the lovely comments! Trina, the bridesmaid dresses were ordered from a local (non-bridal) boutique. The brand was Molly B. - unfortunately I don't think the company has a website. They make party dresses and the like.
Every detail is so sweet. I love the escort cards, bouquets, baby's breath wreath.... I could go on and on! Oh, and the programs, too. The dresses are adorable! I'm going to try to find them to feature on my blog! www.blisslistkc.com
Gorgeous photos, and everyone should be as happy as Brandi and Marty. Wish warmest wishes, Peter http://craneinsider.blogspot.com
Your bracelet is GORGEOUS! Where is that from? And how about the wedding programs?
Hi Katherine, I was very lucky that the bracelet was my "something borrowed." One of my best friends and bridesmaids was married a few weeks before and lent it to me. It's by Regina B. I made the cover to the wedding programs myself. The eyelet design was featured in most of our paper items. You can't see the inside of the programs, but there were neat little bios of our wedding party with photos. I was in over my head there and got help from a terrific local designer - http://www.thats-inviting.com/.
Thank you for the info, Brandi. Your wedding and pictures were both gorgeous. Looks like it was a beautiful day. Congratulations!
This wedding is lovely. could you please share who did the cake and the flowers? I'm planning a wedding near Lake Placid and am having trouble finding great stuff like this!
Hi Brooke, The cake was by Lake Flour Bakery in Saranac Lake and the florist was Trillium from Tupper Lake. I highly recommend both! Kris at Trillium is just amazing and so artistic. I felt like she new exactly what we wanted and she overdelivered on the wedding day. You can see more info about our wedding here: http://ms-bliss.blogspot.com Good luck & happy planning!
Beautiful wedding! Could you please let me know where you got your dress? It's gorgeous!

Brandi, what a beautiful wedding! I knew as soon as I saw the antlers that we were having our reception at the same place! Any advice on where to get hair and makeup done near Lake Placid? Everything looks like it turned out perfectly for yours!
