Little Black Book photographer, James Christianson sent us a wedding that is so fresh, so spirited, so just down-right pretty, it will leave you with a deep feeling that all-is-good in this hectic world we live in!
How bright and alive are these colors?

Sarah and Joe were married at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This ranch (slash) resort has rustic “upscale” cabins, a lodge, spa, fine dining, all kinds of outdoor activities … talk about being able to fill the weekend with fun … it looks like the perfect spot for a long weekend wedding that will leave your guests grinning from ear to ear!

What about those log benches? And the hanging vases, so simple, but so striking (close-ups in the first photo set).
According to their website, Devil’s Thumb Ranch is 5000 acres of year-round Rocky Mountain bliss … 65 miles west of Denver.
Take a look at these brilliant wedding details James sent to us! (Sorry, I just have to show the hanging vases again.)

LOVE the overhead shot of the reception table!

Now, a few more real-life moments from James…

Thanks James … and Sarah & Joe for sharing this lovely day with us.
My husband and I spent a long weekend there in Feb 2007. It was FANTASTIC!!! These photos make me want to go back in a big way!
WOW that looks magical! Esp with the lilac wild flowers in the photos! I love the white cloths on the logs that everyone was sitting on... nice touch!
The colors are amazing!
I LOVE this wedding! I am getting married in Colorado in July and this is the color palette I am using! Thanks for sharing.
A great set of wedding photos. I especially like the row of ties as a detail shot and use of fisheye lens for the service. A fisheye can produce great effects when used well, as the example above :-)

I love how fresh this looks! I really like the contrast of bright colors in a rustic setting.
I booked Sarah and Joe's wedding here at Devil's Thumb Ranch. They are a fabulous couple and it was a thrill working with both of them (especially Sarah)! She was so wonderful and looked stunning on her wedding day (so did her mom and sister). It was truly an honor to host their wedding here at our beautiful property.
Sincerely,

How did you make the hanging vases without the ribbon slipping off? I am having an outdoor wedding and would like to use old fashioned mason jars filled with gerbera daisies and wildflowers and would like to hang them with ribbon.
We're doing the same colors for a wedding in May. Anyone know where the ties are from? They are the same color as our bridesmaid dresses and those would be a perfect match!

My sister is the beautiful bride above...
Brook-
The ties are from Banana Republic, although I am not sure that they sell them anymore, we had a hard time getting the three that we needed.

Our florist in Denver Lisa http://www.sweetpea-flowers.com/ made the hanging vases. She did an awesome job and was great to work with.
Katie - I hope to do these same colors but I'm having a hard time finding the right coral/salmon/watermelon color in dresses... could you tell me where your bridesmaid dresses are from?
These photos are from my wedding. I can't say enough about Devil's Thumb Ranch--it's the perfect spot to get married!
James Christianson is an incredible person and photographer. He is genuine, soulful and such a gifted artist. His work is amazing.
Lisa Anderson at Sweet Pea made all of our color dreams come true with her gorgeous arrangements.
The bridesmaid dresses are LulaKate and they came from Bella Bridesmaid in Denver http://www.bellabridesmaid.com/
Thanks Katie! I found some that might work at thetiebar.com (search for persimmon). Our bridesmaid dresses are from jcrew.com (search for deep persimmon-on clearance now!).
