Hi there! I just got hip to the wedding blog world and boy did I find a site that " saves the day" I love PPP save the dates cards in particular because they are artistic and a bit rustic but look very elegant and not at all ostentatious. Simple beauty. Our wedding is in the rolling blue ridge mountains of Virginia where I grew up. My fiance and I live in California. So we inspire our wedding to be a blend of contemporary west coast flair mixed with a lot of Southern Charm. Our wedding colors are ivory and pale pink. Cheers!

I heart Peculiar Pair Press! We're a peculiar pair ourselves (he's 6'3" I'm 5'3", he's metro I'm retro, he's a Texas boy I'm an East Coast gal). We both love the look of letterpress but haven't found any invites to capture the vintage, classic, and pan-south asian feel of our wedding. My fiance is Buddhist Sri Lankan and I'm Hindu Indian so we've been looking for invites that are nondenominational, possibly have our elephant and lotus motifs, and are in burnt orange, purple, and chartreuse.

  3. kirsten says:

Gorgeous invites! Our wedding is a little bit vintage, a little bit eclectic, and just a wee bit country-comfortable. Our wedding colours are green and brown, so much fun!

  4. Kenzie says:

We're celebrating with a casual family-only ceremony at a sweeping, gorgeous botanical garden. Then, we'll get sassy with our Spanish-flair reception at a local tapas restaurant. We're expecting great music, a packed dance floor and free-flowing sangria as our friends and family bust a move. Our wedding colors are greens of all-kinds. We're hoping for a hugely enjoyable day that our guests look back upon wistfully.

  5. Absolutely gorgeous invites! My wedding vision is pretty simple - it is a rustic setting (an old wooden lodge) and our colors will be orange, deep red, and brown. Basically, we want a warm, comfy feel :)

  6. Hannah says:

Our wedding style is old world elegance with lush centerpieces of deep reds, purples, blues with a hint of gold, hundreds of candlesticks, cascading fruit, antique lace, wine, and a jazz band playing long into the late summer night.

  7. Youn says:

Our colors are plum, lilac, and eggplant. The theme is charming vintage garden, with lots of lace, painterly flowers everywhere, and details loaded with DIY charm. I want it to be intimate and romantic but decidedly unstuffy!

  8. Jennifer Dutton says:

Gorgeous! Our wedding is traditional/classic (catholic church ceremony) with a modern edge (reception at a contemporary museum). Our colors are apple green and white - perhaps with deep purple/plum thrown in to accent (still deciding if its too trendy). To be held July 2009 in Washington DC.

  9. The Yellow and Gray last one is awesome. I love it... the flowers are dogwood like, which i adore and want to use in my wedding, and Yellow is my color... and I was contemplating a gray hue to match with it... LOVE IT!

  10. Christina G says:

Love! Our wedding will be on the steps of a stately old plantation house in rural Virginia, and the reception on the grounds in the dining hall. We're going for clean and classic with a modern twist; think origami flower centerpieces and chic Grace Kelly-inspired glamour gowns. Colors are cream and bold shades of wine.

  11. Our wedding is at a winery with a very country feel - Our colors are green and pale yellow with red accents and we want it to have a very country garden feel w/ wine of course :)

  12. NaomiT says:

Our wedding is in a garden next to a beautiful historic mansion. It's a bit gothic but also beautiful and reminds me of the mansions in Newport. Our style is definitely vintage, garden, feminine and our colors are all shades of white/cream/ivory with accents of black, gold, and a bit of green. BTW...that save the date with the hot-air balloon...I die. It is amazing.

  13. Mireya says:

We're pretty laid back and are planning on incorporating that in to the wedding (i.e. no tuxes, bridesmaids wearing dresses they can wear long after the date, if I can convince my family, although far-fetched- a taco truck to cater!, outdoor games, etc.). The wedding will be at a family friend's 70+ acre property with a beautiful barn and our colors will include different shades of red with ivory accents. We'd like our day to be fun, relaxed, sustainable, homemade, and memorable!

  14. JLS says:

I love love love the one in the lower left. The criss-cross looks like netting. Le sigh. Our wedding is being held in a church that dates back to 1707. It looks like an old Shaker house. I love it! We're keeping everything simple there - no color other than shades of creams, ivory, and greys. Once we get to the reception, which is at an old gentleman's club, we're adding in some antique golds, peaches, coral, and apricot to warm everything up. We're serving meatloaf and mac and cheese! We want the entire day to be comfortable for our guests. My fav thing we're doing is having an ice cream truck come to scoop cones for everyone. Ice cream is my weakness!

  15. Lauren says:

So beautiful and elegant. We're going for contemporary, simple, and elegant; our colors are green, white, and black. The reception is at the top of a tall hotel-- all windows, with gorgeous views of the city.

  16. Lindsay says:

Wedding Style: Down home southern with lots of DIY details Colors: Anything autumnal Vision: Thanksgiving in October - rich fall colors, lots to be thankful for, family, friends, and food Look: The ceremony will be traditional, then the reception is in a restored barn. My look is chic - fitted dress, hair in a loose bun.

  17. Anne says:

My fiance and I are planning a late summer wedding in Charleston, SC. We are excited to have a "city" wedding in a beautiful, classic Southern town. Most of the guests are Yankees, so we'll be introducing them to low country cuisine, beautiful florals, southern hospitality and sentimentality. I'm wearing my mother's lace wedding dress and we will wed outside under moss-covered trees.

  18. Meghan says:

These save the dates would be perfect for our Sept 2009 outdoor wedding! I love the flowery pink save the date; the ironwork at our venue looks just like the design, it's uncanny! So lovely!

  19. Janelle says:

Hi! Alex and I are planning a family & friends-oriented wedding with lots of laughs and candy to be had. Our colors are Dark Chocolate Brown and Fuschia (yes, i actually got him to say "yes" to fuschia!). Our cake decorator helped us come up with an old-fashioned candy store/bake shoppe wedding theme, with stripes and tons of glass containers for candy (along with huge cupcake-shaped cakes!) as centerpieces and for our candy bar. We're even having a cupcake-shaped pinata for the girls, instead of the traditional bouquet toss!

  20. Nichole says:

We chose a Victorian Estate as our venue. Our wedding day vision: Old world charm, whimsical, and timeless!

  21. whiteforest says:

We are getting married in August. Our venue is everything we love about our hometown, where the woods, the farm fields and the lake all come together. We're going for a sort of country-chic vibe. Our colors are eggplant with ivory and charcoal accents. I've been scouring the internet for letterpress save the dates and invites that are within our budget. I've checked out Peculiar Pair Press before and the designs are gorgeous; we'd certainly love to be able to send these out!

  22. Stella says:

Informal, untraditional, fusion wedding on a budget. We'll be tying the knot on Labour Day weekend in a classical Chinese garden with him in a kilt, and me in a fusion chinese/western wedding dress. Homemade marshmallows are to be favours, orchids to be the flowers/centrepiece and a wedding cupcake tree. There are no colours picked yet but definitely not pastel pink or blue!

  23. Juana says:

Brian and I are getting married next August at a great garden venue surrounded by a winery. Looking for that rustic-chic vibe with shades of creme, eggplant, brown and green. You know when you look back on an event you attended in your life and you just can't help but smile...we hope we create that kind of day!Not just for us, but for our friends and family too.

  24. Janet says:

As the mother of the bride - who is also active-duty military - I have been doing much of the initial searching and wedding planning for her. As an officer, she knows what she wants and likes: glamor, fun, vintage styles and colors that reflect the beauty of spring. How can I go wrong with your "Save the Date" cards?

  25. EmilyF says:

These save the dates are so classic and fresh at the same time! Our wedding is taking place at one of George Washington's original farms on the Potomac River. Our theme is a Lily Pulitzer-esque garden party. We plan on playing croquet and a game of kickball, as that's how I met my fiance. Our colors are various shades of pink and green.

  26. Melissa says:

John and I are having a September wedding in Northern Virginia when the weather is still warm, but the leaves begin to pick up their autumn hues. Using this transitional time as inspiration, I am envisioning rich chocolate and raspberry colors, accented with citrusy orange and green throughout our wedding. Peculiar Pair Press expresses a modern romanticism in their designs that I could design my whole wedding around. Please pick me!

  27. Kelsey says:

I'm head over heels with these save the dates! Our wedding style is what I'm calling "Sweet Southern Summer"...Southern & romantic using ivory, blush pink and olive green. These save the dates would be perfect!

  28. Mary says:

These save the dates are irresistable!!! They're sophisticated yet oh so fun! We're planning a pink and gold late spring wedding for 2010! We want a vintage feeling with a modern vibe to it! I'll be graduating from nursing school two weeks before our wedding, so it's going to be a tad hectic, but it'll be fabulous! It's a hard choice, but if I have to choose I love the save the date with the blue on it, but the invite with the butterfly is stunning!

  29. Sarah S. says:

Hi. Our style is royal meets hip and contemporary and military. Quite a combo. Our colors are hunter green, white and maroon. A true cinderalla wedding on a budget.

  30. Karen M says:

Bliss! These invitations are gorgeous! My partner and I are saying our vows on the footbridge crossing the Delaware River between Jersey and PA in November. The reception will be centered on organic and local foods and culture--serving micro and craft brews and ciders--with deep hues of persimmon, crimson, and olive green. Copper and oxidized copper lanterns will also play a part. Our reception will take place at an old inn from the 1700s--complete with original wood planks weaving their way through the plaster ceiling.

  31. Kate says:

We are getting married in a restored chapel in Newport, Rhode Island. There is a beach theme. I'm also trying to go green, and use recycled paper. My color is turquoise blue. Thank you!

  32. ash says:

WOW, i have been waiting for this! i've been a huge fan of pp for the longest. our wedding: low-key rustic charm in wine country virginia. horses and fields a-plenty. good food, good friends, good wine, good celebration! we both l-o-v-e letterpress but sadly must conserve funds for proper invitation.

  33. Harmony says:

It would be a dream to have letterpress save-the-dates from a company as amazing as Peculiar Pair Press! Our wedding is in a 1920-era hotel's ballroom, the colors are whites/creams/golds with a few rose accents, and the focus is on gold, vintage, and candlelight!

  34. Alicia G says:

A semi-formal wedding in San Diego with ocean inspired blues and lots of white flowers and candles. A reception overlooking the Pacific ocean in La Jolla Cove, one of our favorite places, with a touch of Louisiana traditions and style (my home state). These Save the Dates would be a wonderful first impression of the fun that family and friends from Kansas and Louisiana will have at our wedding.

  35. Mary L says:

Rustic farm style wedding in a pecan grove. The wedding will be held next November in the evening. Oranges, greens and browns with an organic style & organic food grown right there on the farm we will be marrying on. I plan to use mason jars to hold tea lights and flowers and have rustic wooden signs leading the way. White lights throughout the pecan trees. Most will be DIY budget wedding. I am an Arizona bride but originally from Pennsylvania so trying to make this feel as much as home as I can with a natural country theme.
