A Look Back…and A Look Forward!

And finally, perhaps my all time favorite thing about 2008 was the gorgeous real weddings that we featured. Whether the events were sweet and sophisticated, like this stunning Lisa Vorce affair...

A Look Back and a Giveaway…

Okay, getting back to our look back on 2008! This next favorite is all about DIY (and make sure to read all the way down, as there is a little giveaway at the bottom). Although I kind of loved all of our featured DIY projects, this one by our new DIY editor, Kathleen, was perhaps my favorite from the year...

Definite favorite runner-ups included these fabulous DIY table numbers...

Wedding Invitations by Peculiar Pair Press…

We are taking a quick pause from our Look Back, to debut the last of Peculiar Pair Press's brand new invitation line! A fun little mid-day treat. For those of you that are joining SMP for the first time, you can see the first set of invitations here, here and here.

A Look Back, III…

This post was something that I vowed to do in 2008...and simply didn't. I have no excuses! The Look for Less is my SMP New Year's resolution for 2009.

Chewing the Cud is one of my all time favorite design firms...and in 2008, they launched their brand new wedding line that I obsessed over. Even more fun, the designer, Viola, shared a few of her invitation look...

A Look Back…

2008 was completely life changing for me. My husband and I packed it up and headed from San Francisco to Boston, a move that brought us closer to our families. We bought our first house in the cutest neighborhood in the world, we bought grown-up people furniture, we even got a Volvo. And of course, we had our best gift ever...our little girl Audrey.

Most surprisingly though was that my blog really took off and became something I never could have dreamed. Something that I am so...

Real Wedding: Lisa and Benjamin, V

Here is a last look at today's gorgeous wedding. The bride put her heart and soul into designing a wedding that reflected she and her fiance's unique personalities and style...and it shows. The end result was nothing short of lovely.

The really good stuff from the bride...

The programs took a while to complete. I bought all my paper from the Paper Source because they made it so easy with all the different paper/envelope choices. I printed out one of my favorite quotes...

More from the bride...

I really wanted to incorporate our mothers in the ceremony, but didn't really like the unity candle or rose idea since it's done all the time. My bridesmaid Shari Bare shoots a lot of weddings in Florida and she told me...

Real Wedding: Lisa and Benjamin

Today's featured wedding is so ridiculously gorgeous, it's hard to think of the appropriate introduction. First of all, it was shot by one of my all time favorite photographers, Tanja Lippert (you remember THIS wedding that Tanja photographed a while back). Secondly, the bride and her dress are...well, gorgeous. And lastly, the details are...

SMP Loves…RedBliss

Christine Traulich of RedBliss just might be the person to thank for my career in the wedding industry. I fell head over heals in love with her work years ago when I worked for a stationery store in San Francisco. I had never seen such luxurious, such creative work and to this day, I still think that she reigns as the queen of all things beautiful. Check out her gorgeous site when you need a...
