And one more comment . . . my mom got me that cute paper die-cut at Walmart. It is Martha Stewart's craft collection there. Oh, Martha. She can even spruce up Walmart.

To add to Taylor's comment . . . when my florist friend ordered them for me she called them billy buttons. They are cheap and so cute. And they are still surviving in my kitchen.

How fun that people liked my dress! I got my dress at a sample sale - it was plain and too big. Then, I found a fabulous seamstress to take the dress in and make a sweetheart neckline. I also purchased the lace from a Parisian shop on-line to have sewn around the natural waist. Then, I tried 100 different ribbon/brooch combinations and ordered almost every dupioni silk ribbon at m & j before finally having the bits of my dress that were left over from hemming into a sash. I liked it because it felt like mine in a way that the other's I tried on (which were definitely more lovely to begin with) I had to have faith in this sort of awful ill-fitting, plain dress which pretty fabric and a good overall shape. But hurrah! it worked out!

The flowers are Craspedia globosa, often referred to as the "drumstick flower." If I were going to have flowers in my own wedding, these would be it!
