Real Wedding, II

I got married in Yorkshire on 13th September. I had always wanted to have my wedding reception at home so Tom and I got married in our local church, just up the hill from my parents house and then everyone was brought back down to the house in a vintage bus for a drinks reception on my parents lawn followed by the reception in a marquee we had put up in the farmers field behind our house!!

It had been the most awful summer here and had rained constantly. The marquee even had to go down a week early to try and dry out the field as it was so water logged. I was convinced that our wedding was going to be a very wet day and had even bought stacks of pink golf umbrellas because I was certain we would have rain along with pink wellington boots for me and the bridesmaids incase we had to walk through puddles, but amazingly the sun came out and we had a dry day!

   Have been looking through all the photos on the photographers site, gorgeous. Where did Fiona get those bridesmaids dresses? I am planning an english country wedding for June and I am looking for dresses.

   Look forward to reading more about the wedding.

   I got the dresses from a shop called coast. I am pretty sure that they had a website and they are always updating their stock so they may do a similar style of dress in the spring. Enjoy your planning!

   thanks Fiona, I know Coast! Haven't seen anything that I liked too much in there at the moment but perhaps I will next Spring. Am going to try the new Westfield shopping centre in London next week, hopefully something will turn up.

   love the pictures! how exciting i am totally amazed how many of us british brides have used the site. can i ask which company you used for the bus? only found one so far in Birmingham who will do it. We are getting married in Cheshire next May and i would love one x

   We used Yorkshire Heritage Bus Company - they are based in Halifax in West Yorkshire and are extremely reasonable. The bus was beautiful decked out in flowers to match our colour theme. They gave an excellent service and I can highly recommend them.
