So, so pretty! I know that the bright blue and the green are a really popular color palette, but I don’t always see it done as lovely as this. It’s fresh and happy, perfect for this cheerful outdoor wedding!

From Alana…

Music played a big role in our day. The bridesmaids walked down the aisle to “Love and Some Verses” by Iron and Wine; my father and I walked down the aisle to “How Deep is Your Love” by The Bird and the Bee; a good friend of ours performed two beautiful songs for us during the ceremony; and, for a little touch of fun, Alex and I walked back up the aisle to “All I Want Is You” by Barry Louis Polisar.

Alex arranged all of the music. Rather than hire a DJ/Band he created various playlists on iTunes that included only songs that we love. Everyone was raving about the music and we were able to personalise our event while avoiding the cost of a DJ or band.

More to come!

I also would like to know more about the bridesmaids' dresses. So chic!

  4. Alana says:

Hi everyone. I posted answers to a few questions in Part I but not about the bridesmaid dresses.

They were tea-length Organdy dresses from the Dessy line (After Six, Alfred Sung and Dessy are all part of this line). The colour was of course turquoise and each girls style number was as follows:

    styles D330, D320, 2514 (I no longer see my sister's dress online, her's was the halter...sorry)

    Thank you for your comments!

Wow- what a beautiful wedding! My fiance and I are also very much into choosing our own music and are compiling an iTunes playlist. How did you manage to play the music? Did you hire someone to push "play" or did you direct the DJ to play your songs? Also, it looks like an outdoor ceremony - did you rent speakers to play your songs outside? Thanks for any suggestions!

  7. Alana says:

    Hi Nancy. Thank you!

We had our MC pressing play on a laptop that had our press arranges playlist set up. We did rent speakers from a local music shop. At the reception we just let the music play from our playlist on random.

    Take care!

It all depends upon your priorities as to what you want your friends and family to experience, and from what you describe, I feel you had a wonderful time. Congrats.
