Wedding Lighting by Yvonne Designs
Today’s guest blogger is Yvonne of Yvonne Designs Event Floral and Decor…she is kind of amazing, one of Hawaii’s premier floral designers, and we are so thrilled that she has offered to come share her tips on transforming a space from day to night…

From Yvonne…
What I love about this wedding reception is the transformation it took from elegant and sophisticated in the day, to fun and dramatic in the evening. Once the sun set, the guests get a first glance at what the evening had in store for them as they see the tent begin to turn color from classic white let’s say a bold green. The energy under the tent began to rise as the lights became more vivid and soon the dance floor was the place to be for this energetic crowd.
Here is the room during the day….

Though flowers are my one true passion, I’ve become obsessed with lighting lately! Not only does light enhance my floral designs, it also creates such a unique atmosphere.

The sheers are so striking and stunning! I am such a huge fan of draping combined with lighting and this is yet another variation of that type of feature. What a great way to take a fresh, clean white daytime event to a sultry reception venue. I’m keeping this idea in my back pocket, that’s for sure.

Abby - Yvonne did the florals at my wedding 3 years ago. She is the BEST of the BEST! Although we didn’t go lavish like the pictures she provided, her designs are amazing and she really sits down with you and finds what you envision and adds her own creativity. She was the one florist I knew I wanted when I got married. Since I do clay flowers I did the bouquets and corsages out of clay, but she did the rest and she did a phenomenal job. Great EYE CANDY! Chrissy Lambert is also a great photographer too, who I’ve had a chance to work with. Although I work out of San Jose, CA now, it’s great to see the exposure the Hawaii wedding professionals are getting!

Beautiful displays. As a wedding DJ on Kauai, and sometimes lighting designer, I can really appreciate your artistry here. Sweet, thank you. Feel free to hookup if you ever need a DJ for an event. Aloha!

Love the green lighting - ambient lighting makes all the difference and can really emphasize various elements of the day…spotlight please!

I really love this color theme: green and white. The lighting really worked well.
