I saw a gorgeous wedding that incorporated gold - the bridesmaids wore gold gowns with bouquets of burnt orange calla lilies and deep purple carnations! Gorgeous!

Gold is beautiful and can be used in many way. Be sure to pay attention to time of year! May is light and warm and wonderful. I would recommend making sure your wedding is the same! Tans, creams, ivory, pale peach will all look great with the gold. For a classy look try for almost monotone colors with only soft veriances. The glass atrium will let in colors from outside with some nice creative lighting out on your best foliage. This should look great! Hope this was helpful.

You really can't go wrong with gold, as was said. It has the perfect touch of elegance while mixing very well with other soft colors.

HA! You are probably right...I was designing the board late last night and didn't really get it right:) I do love the color palette though...warm creams and peaches, accented with golds, chocolates and natural greens. Mabye we can call it a color board, inspiring just the hues that would be pretty:)

Abby, I really like your board but it doesn't say Italian meets Gone With the Wind to me.

You cannot get enough gold. I had an evening wedding that was dressy and elegant, but not black tie. I used a lot of gold, but paired it with mustard and plumb and the men wore chocolate. Any color you could eat was good to go for me! It turned out too good to be true. It was posted on snippet & ink if you'd like to peek!

I agree with all the suggestions including shades of pink. While I think some of the other combinations can be beautiful (ivory, burgundy, etc), I think the pink will help to give that not-too-formal feel that you were discussing, especially with deeper or hotter pinks.
