An Inspired Wedding, II

I wanted to share a few more images and details from today’s featured wedding…

From Kacie…

My husband Brandon and I were married on July 12,2008 in the garden of my parents’ beautiful wine country home, standing right where they stood during their wedding ceremony 27 years ago, surrounded by 100 of our dearest friends and family. We wanted to create an intimate, hand-made, elegant, free-flowing, graceful, and vintage-inspired wedding…kind of like a modern-day Gatsby garden party. My childhood home, which is full of family history since my dad actually purchased it from my grandparents when I was a little girl, was the perfect setting.

An Inspired Wedding

Without question, my favorite days on Style Me Pretty are those where readers send in Real Weddings based on inspiration boards that we’ve featured in the past. So, when Kacie sent me pictures of her own recent wedding and the board that started it all, I changed the direction of today’s post!!

Kacie designed an inspiration board for on of our contests a while back. Here it is…

And here is how her insanely gorgeous wedding turned out…

photographs are all taken by Kacie’s childhood friend, Dawn Heumann, and her sister in law Lisa Dick

Wedding Dress Trends by Anna Be

I am so excited that the girls from one of our favorite Little Black Book shops, Anna and Breanna of the beautiful bridal boutique Anne Be in Denver, is offering up her ideas and inspirations in wedding dress trends! Let’s get right to it!

From Anna and Breanna…

As owners of a bridal boutique in Denver, we are lucky enough to spend our days poring over magazines, meeting with designers, and attending fashion shows. The three trends that we are just loving in bridal gowns right now are texture, fabrics, and details. They are a modern way to infuse a little sophisticated style without going too trendy. After all, no one wants to look back on their pictures and have the equivalent of the 80’s pouf!

A Real Wedding, II

Stephanie Land, the photographer behind these beautiful photographs, is working on getting me some more images that haven’t already been published…but, in the meantime, I wanted to share a few more that I did have!

More details…

*Jelsen is a designer and designed our invites himself. My only request was that he would use the Kraft paper, because I love the organic look of it. Our RSVP cards where postcards that guests returned with messages written to us. It was great because every day we would receive postcards from around the world. (Norway, Germany, Italy, U.S etc). The envelopes where handmade by a stationer in Chicago, Amber Favorite.

A Real Wedding

Words can’t describe just how much I love this wedding. Sent to me by Stephanie Land, the whole day just seems so dreamy! The couple, Jelsen and Bahareh, have some seriously great taste…throwing a party that anyone would be lucky to attend in Fort Tryon Park in Manhattan…

Some Details From Bahareh

*The theme was cherries and honey and we tried to carry that over the entire wedding. (Jelsen proposed to me in the Cherry garden at Brooklyn Botanic Garden).

Wedding Jewelry by Sarah Perlis

I loooooove what Sarah Perlis is doing. Her jewelry is absolutely breathtaking. What I love even more though, is that she is now offering clients a chance to design their own custom wedding rings…

Couples can come into her studio and work with Sarah from concept on, to design a ring that is completely unique and one of a kind. How great is that! If you aren’t in the NY area, she also has an absolutely gorgeous array of jewelry on her website

Wedding Jewelry by Ornamental Things

One of our readers sent me the heads-up on this great jewelry designer out of Austin, Ornamental Things

I am a sucker for anything gold, and anything handmade so these little gems were a no brainer…especially because they pair vintage recycled jewelry with new closures and such. I think the lockets and the charm necklaces would make such beautiful bridesmaids gift. They would also be the perfect sentimental gift for your mother or grandmother.

Real Wedding by Holland Photo Arts, III

I have a few more amazing images and detail from today’s featured wedding, sent to me by Holland Photo Arts

From Holland Photo Arts

During cocktail hour in the adjacent garden, everyone lined up to enjoy some signature drinks the couple had helped create while browsing through the rows and rows of beautiful spring blooms while the sun began it’s late-afternoon descent. Later, they all walked across the road and into a nearby field to the tent where the evening’s festivities were to be held. We were so excited, too, that Pam Barefoot of A Trendy Wedding assisted by her longtime friend and associate Kate were on board for this fun wedding. She made sure, as usual, that everything went off that evening without a hitch and is one of the most creative planners we’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Real Wedding by Holland Photo Arts, II

I have so many more photos from today’s featured wedding to share with you, so let’s get right to it!

From Anne and Bill Holland of Holland Photo Arts

Marcie & Garrett, who enjoyed a gorgeous outdoor ceremony with close family and friends out at Tuckahoe Plantation, just west of Richmond. They had chosen this spot, in a rustic garden just east of the mansion and at the end of a long dirt road for its authenticity and beauty, and Mother Nature made sure they and their guests were able to take full advantage of it. After seeing each other privately for the first time that day in the grove adjacent to the garden, and after portraits with them and their families, everyone sat and relaxed for a short bit until the ceremony got started. Their guests were kept amused prior to the ceremony with programs describing how they knew members of the wedding party and various humorous characteristics of each, including a funny story of how they themselves met. They then said their vows under a massive old oak, the oldest tree in Virginia.
