Wedding Cakes by Elegant Cheesecakes
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I have been drooling over these cake pictures by Elegant Cheesecakes in Half Moon Bay, California for the past three days and am so excited to finally share them with you (even if you hate me for making you want a piece of cake, rather than a bowl of oatmeal)…
How gorgeous are these cakes?? The second photo down with the lemons is my favorite…so chic, so elegant. Love, love, love it!
Whether your wedding cake is traditional or whimsical, it can really be such a fun and important part of your wedding style. My own wedding cake was a simple, three tiered round cake covered in sugar glitter…it sat right at the corner of the dance floor, adding such a pretty, glistening touch to the night. I’ve seen others that are more ornate, those that are fun and untraditional, those that are kind of a combination of styles…the cake is just one of those great places to really express your personalities.
So what kind of cake are you guys doing? Traditional? Modern? Cupcakes? No cake at all?

They are so beautiful that you don’t even want to eat them. Love that Juicy Couture purse… absolutely amazing!

No cake for us- just a dessert tray served to our guests at their tables. That lemon cake is GORGEOUS though. MMM….I love lemon.

I -love- the vintage coloring and detailing of one that looks like a pile of pillows. Beautiful.
We had a simple three-tiered cake with white-on-white frosting and a lovely apple blossom pattern piped all over it, with a strand of tiny white “pearls” around the base of each layer. We also had large trays of assorted Italian cookies serve as our table centerpieces. Guests liked them so much that several called the baker right from their tables and jokingly asked her to deliver more.

I LOVE the cake in the upper left corner, as well as the lemon cake. So simple and elegant. I went for flavor as well as appearance when selecting my wedding cake. I haven’t seen it yet, since my wedding is in a month, but it’s the thing I’m most excited about! Mine is a three layer, square cake. The layers are slightly seperated, to allow for green hydrangea blossoms to be placed on each tier. The cake is frosted in white buttercream, and will be very simple except silver ribbon trim, and our monogram. It’s like a cake on the Martha Stewart website, but is done with square instead of circular layers. Almond butter cake, raspberry buttercream filling.. .yum!!!

Buttercream cake buffet for me. I’m very excited about it!

These cakes are so fabulous! The cake in the upper right corner is by far my favorite! It’s so different but yet so elegant. The two purse cakes would be IDEAL for a shower cake! So precious!

We don’t have wedding cakes in France, except for choux-à-la-crème pièce montée (sorry, I can’t translate that). My fiance and I don’t like them, so we’ll just have a desert buffet.
Up until now, I used to think that our wedding tradition was ok the way it was, without any fancy cake included.
But now, all I can think about is “I wanna taste the lemon cake !” or “I want the one chocolate one for my own wedding !!’, and of course “do they ship cakes in France ?” (just a dream).
My God, those are gorgeous…

We’re having cheesecake also (my favorite)! My brother-in-law found a guy in NY that does them, but his are light and fluffy, so he doesn’t really decorate them. I’m having all different flavors — he even made one for my fiance’ who’s english — Banoffee flavor
so, without the decoration, i was going to wrap each one with ribbon to tie them together (theme-wise) and have them on tiered cake stands. the caterer is going to make sauces for them to add a bit of color to the plates when served.

I’m still gathering inspiration for our cake. I’ve been seeing a lot of cakes that mimic fabric, like an eyelet or lace-looking cake so I would love to go for that. I want each layer to be a different flavor. For the groom’s cake though we are doing something different. We are having an italian-themed feast so we are having a gelato cart brought in with flavors from our favorite place. It’s sord of a make your own sunday thing and they will be served in martini glasses, so yummy!

And the beauty of this baker is she is able to produce a cake that tastes as good as it looks! I had the joy of tasting three different flavors of a wedding cake from Elegant Cheesecakes at a wedding I assisted with back in May. Can I simply say “WOW”? I have tasted a lot of cake, but this one floored me. It was not an inexpensive investment for the Bride and Groom, but they felt it was worth every penny for the beauty, quality and the flavor of their cake was simply scrumptious!

Wow . . . those cakes are incredible. At my friend Aimee’s wedding, the cake was four tiers, 2 chocolate with raspberry mousse and 2 yellow cake with strawberry shortcake filling. I love the 2 cakes in one thing. And cheesecake is such a modern choice
