It’s been so long since I featured wedding cakes on SMP! Probably because every time I do, I end up running out and buying a cupcake or a brownie or something really bad. But, I have to say, the wedding cake is one of my favorite parts of any wedding…it’s always the one element where you can see the bride and groom’s personality, no matter what the wedding style is.
Edith Meyer has been creating beautiful cakes for years, and aside from being one of the sweetest bakers you’ve ever met, she is also one of the most talented…
I love that chocolate cake in the top right corner…a twist on the traditional. Edith also has some pretty amazing grooms cakes on her site, as well as a blog that shows all of the behind the scenes action…like the new wispy feathers that she made for a gorgeous glittery cake. Definitely check them out when you have a minute! And stay tuned for more gorgeous cakes throughout t the day!

That sand castle cake is amazing! I’ve never seen anything like that before. It would be so fun to pretend like it was an actual castle, and then shock everyone by eating it

That sand castle cake is so amazing! I actually thought it was made out of sand at first!

They really are pieces of art. Beautiful.
We on the other hand will be foregoing the wedding cake all together and replacing it with a make your own sundae bar.
We’re more hot fudge sundae people than cake people.
Besides, I have yet to taste a good wedding cake at the weddings I’ve been to.

Those cakes are AMAZING!!! I have never had a tasty wedding cake, but I’m convinced that the bakery I’ve chosen will meet my expectations. This site made me want to quit being an art teacher and become a pastry chef!

the sand castle cake is so much fun, but i think my favorite is the blue with white shells. i am always surprised by the smoothness of fondant - i just wish it was tastier.

Edith will be doing the cake for our wedding in October. Her cakes are tasty, environmentally and social conscious, and beautiful. I was prepared to splurge a bit after meeting her (because I knew I couldn’t say no), but she is also reasonably priced.
I think I’m most excited about our cake!
