Real Wedding by Red Ribbon Studio
Today on Design*Sponge, I featured some a-a-a-mazing homes and creative spaces, one of them being the gorgeous studio of Maribeth at Red Ribbon Studio. Maribeth basically transformed a sad, little retail space into the most gorgeous studio you have ever seen. It just goes to show that creativity doesn’t stop with one craft…this girl is all talent!
Here is one of Maribeth’s weddings that I am completely in love with…
From Maribeth…Kaija and John got married in her grandpa’s backyard. Kaija wanted an upscale backyard barbeque, and that’s exactly what it was. Guests sipped on a signature drink called a Bootlegger and snacked on passed treats like Minnesota State Fair cheese curds. A perfect summer day for a backyard wedding with great laid-back but elegant style.

Comment by Kathryn on 28 May 2008:
I really love Shasta daisies at a wedding.
Comment by Donna on 28 May 2008:
It’s really beautiful. I love the crisp green and white and the way she stacked the cupcakes.
Comment by Marisa on 29 May 2008:
Love all the beautiful colors & details! And who designed her dress?! It’s gorgeous!
Comment by Vanessa on 29 May 2008:
This is A LOT like my wedding plan! It really looks like it came out quite elegant, but still laid back and fun. “upscale backyard barbeque” is exactly what I’m going for! I’m also looking for a khaki suit for my groom to wear. I’m curious to know what the bootlegger drink is. It looks similar to a mojito.

I have been looking for striped sox for the groomsmen! Where are those from?
Comment by TCB on 29 May 2008:
LOVE it. We did an upscale barbecue party for an event I hosted at work and called it a bubbleque - always thought that would be a fun name for a wedding. Champagne and BBQ.

I love her dress!! Any idea where it is from?
Comment by Heather on 29 May 2008:
Marisa, I’m on exactly the same page as you… FYI we just picked out a great khaki suit from Banana Republic. I have also been looking for men’s striped socks if anyone has a resource.
Comment by Heather on 29 May 2008:
sorry, I meant Vanessa!
Comment by Vanessa on 29 May 2008:
Thanks for the heads up Heather! I saw a decent khaki suit at j.crew but I still want to shop around and see whats out there. My groom is a skateboarder and not a fan of the suit and tie so I’m trying to find the least stuffy / more mod khaki suit as possible
Oh, and he has already stated that he WILL be wearing skate shoes. But thats ok, I wont be in the traditional white wedding dress either. The best part of planning the wedding is making it your own after all.

working on finding out the designer of the dress…will keep you guys posted!
Comment by Heather on 29 May 2008:
I totally understand- our groomsmen will be in the classic style slip-on Vans. We liked the J. Crew suit as well, and the prices are basically the same. Good luck!

Hii Abby
Did you ever find out who her dress designer was? It is so beautiful!
Comment by Chandra on 28 October 2008:
Also, I would love to know where to find those ties! They are the exact ties I want for my wedding. Please fill me in on where we can find them. Thanks.
Comment by JennyS on 17 November 2008:
I LOVE her dress. Keep us posted abby!
Comment by Leila on 1 January 2009:
Oh my! I’m looking for those ties! Can you tell me where I can find them or something close? The colors in my wedding are white, green, and pink and my girls are in light pink. The guys aren’t crazy about pink though so I’m looking for an alternative tie for them that still brings is the pink. These would be perfect!
