<description>What would you describe as your ideal wedding style?

Although I have been known to describe my wedding as the wedding version of the mullet (business in the front, party in the back!), I really want our wedding to be elegant, romantic and fun. I never really want what one would associate with the mullet at the wedding but I do want people to be struck by the beauty of the day and with the amazing amount of love that my fiance and I have for each other. I also want my friends to have an amazing time after my grandmother goes back to the hotel for the night.

What color palates are you loving right now?

Since we are getting married in October, it is very important to us that the color scheme reflect what is going on outside here in the Northeast. Also, as an African American, I am drawn to bright colors because they make my skin glow. So we are having a color palatte of garnet, tangerine and champagne to reflect the season.

What motifs or themes do you envision being a part of your wedding?

My fiance and I are both music lovers so our theme is modern and classic love songs. Our tables will be named after love songs and the lyrics to each song will be listed at each setting so that the guests can see why we were drawn to the song.

<description>What would you describe as your ideal wedding style?

I would describe my ideal wedding style as soft, warm, romantic elegance whimsical, vintage :)
A winter wedding in December. The dresses in organza, chiffon or tulle, maybe lace. Wrist corsages. Birdcage veil for me. Loose hair with fly aways, natural looking. LOTS of candles to make the night even warmer! I love the idea of fabric flowers made of felt and tweed. Don&#039;t forget the knots hanging from the bouquet. My style is &quot;help yourself&quot; with appetizers, hot chocolate and cakes on every table as the center piece. An ornament at christmas time as favors would be perfect. I love personal touches so the more the merrier.

What color palates are you loving right now?

Navy with anything! I&#039;ve seen Navy with pink, yellow, green, orange and currently I&#039;m in love with Navy and reds.

What motifs or themes do you envision being a part of your wedding?

Snowflakes and starbursts. Like Christmas lights glowing off of the snow. -K

<description>How would you describe your ideal wedding style?

My fiance and I met in Rhode Island and lived there for several years while we were both in law school. After being engaged for almost a year (that’s right, an entire year), and going back and forth on where to get married, we realized we kept coming back to the idea of getting married in RI for one reason - it just felt &quot;right.&quot;

Our vision is to have a classic New England seaside wedding with a twist. We are getting married in a beautiful church in Bristol, RI and our reception will be held in a tent on the lawn of a mansion nearby. We will serve a clambake dinner in keeping with the New England theme, but because our family traditions and backgrounds are very important to us, we will incorporate elements of both into the meal and of course the party! I was born and raised Irish-Catholic in Scranton, PA and as a salute to my hometown, we will serve Yuengling Lager and some other local favorites during cocktail hour, I will carry an upside down horseshoe in my bouquet and bagpipers will escort us into our reception. My fiance grew up in New Jersey in a large Italian-American family, and his family will be thrilled to see the small touches throughout the day (and also that we aren’t serving bangers and mash!). We are getting married on a Sunday, considered the luckiest day to get married by Italians. During cocktail hour we will have an enormous antipasto display and we will, of course, do the Tarantella dance. (if for no other reason than to draw the sting from the bagpipes…)

What color palettes are you loving right now?

When I first started thinking about colors, I thought that I needed to choose blues and pastels - anything that invoked a preppy &quot;New England&quot; look. I realized very quickly that those colors just weren&#039;t me. I was immediately drawn to warmer shades - deep purples and golds with accents of green and shades of white and ivory.

What motifs or themes do you envision being part of your wedding?

My fiance and I hail from very different hometowns, backgrounds and family traditions. We grew up no more than 3 hours away from each other, but it might as well have been worlds apart. Before I met him, I never heard of a rice ball or sopressata and I ate my salad first!!! He had never known the excitement that is the St. Patty’s Day parade in Scranton or that pizza can be made with something other than mozzarella cheese (and be so very very yummy!!). You see, we couldn’t possibly have any particular theme because there are so many elements that make us, “us.” More important than a theme or motif to us is our wedding being about the blending of our families, our friends, and most importantly, our lives.

Oh, and the party…did I forget to mention the party??

Pick us!

<description>How would you describe your ideal wedding style (modern, vintage, etc.)?
Submitting at the 11th hour because I just discovered this site! Better late than never eh? Getting married in April, so these save the dates will come in handy for all of my international guests…more on that later. So, what is my ideal wedding? Private jet to the Maldives, marry on an island, no friends, barefoot, dance all night, sleep in a tent…oh snap, I’m dreaming. Ok, back to reality (ahem, my budget): modern chic, casual elegance with a hint of ‘realism’ throughout. My fiancé is a true blue Aussie country boy (picture Russell Crowe) I am a NY city gal (flash to Sarah Jessica Parker). We are getting hitched in Mexico next April and we’re planning a modern chic, casual elegant with a slight hint of hominess (is that a word?). Picture this: a rustic, modern chic washed wedding in a beautiful private open air villa perched in the hills of Mismoloya, Mexico. Sunset ceremony, tons of candelabras and hundreds of candles – no harsh light please! Our guests are there to be our guests, no tradition in this gathering. Guests will dine on authentic Mexican food, drink guzzle Aussie beers and wine, lounges, views, mariachi, good food, fireworks. laugh. love. live.

What color palettes are you loving right now? I&#039;m using the natural surroundings to tell the story and right now I’m loving celery/moss green, slate, seafoam blue, eggshell, white, cream/sand stone. The ceremony will be cream, sandstone with moss green, very organic, natural, outdoor all lite by hundreds of candles. Reception will bring out the seafoam blue, slate, celery and tied throughout the space.

What motifs or themes do you envision being part of your wedding? Since our wedding is in a rural location we are embracing the natural elements by merging two different cultures and drawing from his Australian/Irish heritage and my African-American background. However, since its in a villa its keeping in line with the modern, casual elegance. A little rustic wrought iron fences, crosses. Since we were lucky in love the provide our guests with lottery tickets instead of purchasing favors. A map of Australia. The motif we would like to use is a sombrero. He’s obsessed with a sombrero, so may use that as a motif. Using the views and the white washed villa as a blank canvas to create an intimate, inviting atmosphere that transforms into Old Mexico.

Pick me!

<description>How would you describe your ideal wedding style (modern, vintage, etc.)?

My idea wedding style would be clean and classic with a hint of vintage flare! I love the idea of a classic look with a few off beat details to spice things up and give it my own unique twist.

What color palettes are you loving right now?

Greens! I&#039;m loving greens with antique gold and burnt orange accents.

What motifs or themes do you envision being part of your wedding?

I definitely want seasonal accents and am dreaming of fall! ... but not too cold of a fall since I&#039;d still like to be outside. I envision glass lanterns and warm colors.. fallen leaves and bare branches. I&#039;m also loving the idea of birds... love birds... on programs or invitations. so cute!

<description>How would you describe your ideal wedding style (modern, vintage, etc.)?

Intimate, simple, timeless elegance. I associate pearls, lace, and crystals with my wedding. I love the idea of a country club setting. The scene for the ceremony will be sunset, outside with nature, overlooking a body of water and underneath a beautiful huppah representative of the new house we will enter as husband and wife. Lavender satchels on each chair and lavender bouquets hanging in the aisles will produce an enchanting aroma. Immediately after we will enter a grand ballroom filled with candlelight and a feeling of old-world romance. Tables are adorned with low candlelight, hydrangeas, white roses, and bottles of wine. All of my guests will gather around and dance the traditional hora as the evening festivities begin. It will be the best day of my life.

What color palettes are you loving right now?

I love deep, rich purples with silver and white accenting

What motifs or themes do you envision being part of your wedding?

Old World Romance. I don’t want someone to look back at pictures and say oh this wedding took place in 2006-2010. Timeless. I love candles and hydrangeas and the tasteful use of our “new” monogram during the reception.

<description>How would you describe our ideal wedding style?
My wedding is old school meets modern. My finacee - refers to me as a &quot;modern old lady&quot; - since we like both modern style and vintage we are combining both for a different kind of feel.

Our colors?
We are having a fall wedding - so we are combining silver and brown (with a touch of fall leave colors throughout)
My other favorite colors are: Navy and turquoise.

Motifs or themes?
We are getting married at Foreign Cinema in San Francisco - it is a restaurant that has an outdoor movie show. So we are creating a vintage movie feel. Using old school font for our copy, showing a black and white movie, serving pimms cup drinks, and giving a movie poster and apples to guests when they depart. (just like at the famous Fillmore does in San Francisco) We are using themes like &quot;previews&quot;(for the welcome reception) &quot;main event&quot;(for the wedding) &quot;credits&quot;(for a day in wine country) &quot;all star cast&quot; (for our wedding party) &quot;advance tickets only&quot; (for the invites) etc.
Decor in our wedding will be live trees and branches without their leaves and we will be decorating them with ribbons, flowers and birds.

(just like at the famous Fillmore does in San Francisco) We are using themes like &#8220;previews&#8221;(for the welcome reception) &#8220;main event&#8221;(for the wedding) &#8220;credits&#8221;(for a day in wine country) &#8220;all star cast&#8221; (for our wedding party) &#8220;advance tickets only&#8221; (for the invites) etc.<br />
Decor in our wedding will be live trees and branches without their leaves and we will be decorating them with ribbons, flowers and birds.</p>

<description>How would you describe your ideal wedding style (modern, vintage, etc.)?

Vintage, with a 1930&#039;s/1940&#039;s Art Deco spin, old school luxe with a little noir thrown in (think Sinatra &amp; Jimmy Durante, supper clubs &amp; speakeasies, etc). I love classic patterns, and color pairings that are timeless. I have a picture of my grandmother and grandfather standing outside of their new home as newlyweds in the 1940s, him in his Army uniform and hat, and her in a fabulous pencil skirt suit, pumps, and a bobbed hat perched on soft curls. I&#039;d want them to fit in at my wedding, just as they&#039;re captured in that photo.

What color palettes are you loving right now?

Satiny yellow, with a black art deco patter overlay or piping. I love the color of a warm yellow satin, and how black can kick it up a notch.

What motifs or themes do you envision being part of your wedding?

Timelessness and romance. From the venue (art deco-era restored movie theatre), to the food (East meets West to represent our cultures: traditional Chinese duck &amp; dim sum stations, and classic American steakhouse stations with prime rib, crab cakes, mac &amp; cheese, creamed spinach &amp; steak fries), to the candle lamps with beading that will be our centerpieces, to the 5-piece jazz band that will set the tone for the evening. At the same time the atmosphere will be intimate and cozy since it&#039;s a small wedding, not black tie as we want our guests to be comfortable. It will just be a very wonderful, very private party for our friends and family to share in our celebration.

<description>my ideal wedding style would be intimate, elegant and chic. i would love to incorporate classic vintage elements with touches of creative modern design to form a timeless and fresh look.

i am currently loving mint green with shades of ivory and light touches of yellow.

i envision having a garden party theme with some earthy elements, lots of flowers and plants, wine, mojitos and fun folks.

<description>How would you describe your ideal wedding style (modern, vintage, etc.)?
I think my ideal style would be eclectic. I love the idea of a modern and sleek looking cake and dresses. At the same time incorporating some vintage pieces into flower arrangements and decorations that have meaning and history to the bride and groom.

What color palettes are you loving right now?
Wow, there are so many that it&#039;s hard to choose. I&#039;m leaning towards pewter colored bridesmaid dresses with begonia/coral colored flowers. The men would wear black. I&#039;m also loving shades of green for a spring wedding.

What motifs or themes do you envision being part of your wedding?
I&#039;m getting married on 5/2/09 which is the Kentucky Derby day. Since my soon to be husband is from Kentucky, I thought this might be fune to incorporate somehow.

<description>How would you describe your ideal wedding style (modern, vintage, etc.)? Our wedding style will be true to us: modern, whimsical and a little bit vintage. We are both in the news business, so we&#039;re trying to incorporate elements of that into our planning (we&#039;re hoping to incorporate old archived newspaper photos into table numbers, for example.) But the biggest issue for us, style aside, is to show our friends and family a wonderful time, to thank them for their love and support that got us there in the first place.

What color palettes are you loving right now?
We&#039;re doing slate gray with yellow and purple accents. (but muted yellow and purple. It&#039;s not like a Minnesota Vikings jersey or anything.)

What motifs or themes do you envision being part of your wedding?
Can all-out gratitude be a theme? We really want to make a point to thank everyone who traveled far to our wedding (it will be a trip for many, many people) and spent the money on hotel rooms, rental cars and gifts. It seems lately that weddings have become ridiculously expensive for guests, so we&#039;re trying to be thoughtful in our planning (everything&#039;s within walking distance; we&#039;ve arranged for airport shuttles, etc.) to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone. Because really, the day may be about us, but we wouldn&#039;t be up there were it not for the love and support of our friends.
