Wedding Dresses by J Crew

December 12th. 2007 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 30 comments

I spent some time last night pouring through the Spring and Fall 2008 bridal runways on Brides.com…and I am officially blown away by that J Crew! I am just so impressed by the sweet sophistication of their wedding dresses…

And we all know, the bridesmaids dresses are just too cute for words… especially, the new plaid one!

I love that a classic, old brand is really trying to redefine themselves with their new bridal line. I know that last year, they literally sold out of stock on some of their gowns. Hopefully, this year, they will be a little more prepared…I have a feeling they are going to sell like hotcakes.

So all of this J Crew stuff got me inspired…who else is designing chic wedding dresses that are one part affordable and one part gorgeous? I am going to be playing detective today, so if you have any really good sources, do share!

The Jenny Yoo Wedding Alternative bridal dresses are really beautiful... and they look fantastic on and in person. I have always thought that the Nicole Miller bridal collection is beautiful. Both of these options are really quite affordable without skrimping on quality.

I love these JCrew dresses! But my only concern would be, how do you try them on? Do you just order several sizes and hope one fits, that would probably be a whole lot of shipping. I wish they had a bridal/special events section in their stores.

JCrew has been fantastic about keeping with the seasons and making things easy for brides and bridesmaids alike! Their shipping is affordable and returns are usually free- I am impressed as well! Good for you JCrew!

Several times a year J. Crew runs specials with free shipping or 20% off of the dresses which helps with keeping the costs down.

These are great - also if you are a student, jcrew automatically gives you 10% off. not sure if it applies to wedding dresses, but it would be worth trying.

melanie... My wedding dress is an alfred angelo bridesmaid dress and I spent less than $200 for it. I was looking for something very simple with clean lines. I love, love LOVE it! All their bridesmaid dresses come in white so it's a good alternative for someone looking for something simple on a budget.

You can actually order any J.Crew bridal gown and have it shipped to the store for free. Free! Try that sucker on and call it a day. No troubles whatsoever. If is doesn't fit, try again. I am waiting for their new colors to come in before I place an order but really, can they make it any easier? I adore J.Crew.

I got my Nicole Miller on Bluefly.com for under $500 - total score! I also got my Stuart Weitzman sandals to go with the dress on Bluefly. Like some PPs, I also am a huge fan of J. Crew and Jenny Yoo.

I just blogged about JCrew and Ann Taylor the other day. I love, love, love that two big brands and modernizing bridesmaids dresses. They are all great options that girls can actually get later use out of. Love them!

I like the Jcrew bridesmaids dresses, but am getting married in November and hear that the navy dresses wont be back until August (colors are white and navy). Any suggestions for other brands? My girls want something more wearable than bridesmaids dress companies like barijay, jordan, etc.

Also looking for fun, colorful, sweet jr maid and flower girl dress??

JCrew has wedding associates to help with organizing your ideas for bridesmaid dresses. They sent me the color palette for spring/summer '08 and it includes navy. The JCrew rep I emailed said navy will be available in mid-April.

I am looking for a very specific JCrew wedding dress from a year or two ago. I was spagetti strap, lightweight linen, crossover bodice, empire waist and had a gold silk sash at the waste that tied in the back. I have pictures of it if anyone needs. Thanks for the help

I am sad that the Emma silk faille dress is no longer available, because it's just what I want for my bridesmaids. I thought I saw somewhere that it was available in a coral-like color --> anyone know what the name of that color was?
