Purple Color Palette

December 4th. 2007 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 5 comments

Wow…you guys made some great suggestions. I particularly love the idea of infusing the palette with a bit of raspberry. There is just something about the red/pink hues that suggests warmth and romance. I also really like the orange hues but for now, I thought I would stick with the colors that I am initially pulled towards…

I have to say…toot, toot…I think that this palette is absolutely gorgeous. I chose a golden yellow, rather than a canary yellow which seems to really compliment the purple. With that said, the gold/yellows should be used sparingly, accenting the foundation colors. Perhaps little bud vases of golden flowers on cocktail tables, or a cake decorated with golden ribbon, gold beaded chargers, you get the drift.

The raspberry, on the other hand, is a perfect mate for the purple/plum color…everything seems to sparkle with the addition of this deep pink hue.

I think the board is really getting there. It is still missing something, so I am going to keep at it. I will keep you posted if I come up with anything else today! What do you guys think?

Looks great! Perhaps you could try a hint of turquoise color? I think used sparingly it could add a lot. I was thinking of the wedding Lisa Vorce did at Saddlerock (betty and josh in - http://www.stylemepretty.com/2007/10/an-inspired-a-2.html )." rel="nofollow">http://www.stylemepretty.com/2007/10/an-inspired-a-2.html). > Good luck!

what about adding a pewter or gray to the palette - even in the linens, serving trays, or a clutch i think the coolness might hold the purples and make the golds pop...

Kristy you read my mind-I was going to suggest some gray! Its my color so I'm a little biased haha. I think it will make the purple a little richer - purple is such a beautiful color!
