A Palm Springs Wedding

I am so excited about today’s series. Lysa Goodman, over at Demby + Solomon, just sent me the most amazing pictures of a wedding that she just did, along with a collection of other brilliant designers, at Palm Springs’ now famous Parker (designed by Jonathan Adler). I first want to show you some of the amazing shots that were taken of the fashions and the pre-festivities…

Aside from the insanely gorgeous color at this wedding, the design elements really did go above and beyond your standard “fabulous wedding.” To start, the bride, Erika Gessin – who produces San Francisco Fashion week – actually had a runway show, instead of your traditional aisle processional. How cool is that? Each bridesmaid wore a couture gown by designer Colleen Quen, so they really looked every bit the part.

There are so many fun details that I can’t wait to tell you about. Check back later to see some additional photos and to find out who the amazing vendors were that helped to produce this incredible wedding!

what an insane wedding. there is nothing chic or inspiring about it. it would be great to see some "real" weddings on here; not ones that belong on the pages of InStyle magazine.

I'm not sure that is a fair comment. This wedding is completely inspiring to me, because they really took chances and used ideas that I honestly have never seen before. They use an unexpected color palette, they infuse really doable but fun elements like MacDonalds hamburgers, they designed a wedding that is completely their own.

We have featured many great, "real" weddings.

We have also created a nice handful of inspiration boards for budget concious brides that still want a really beautiful, intimate affair.

I hope you'll spend some time looking through the archives, as I really try to find really great wedding inspirations, some that are very practical, others that are simply ahh-worthy.

I think this wedding is "real". Just because the bride is breathtaking does not mean it isn't real!

  4. Jesse says:

It was def real. Erika hired us to videotape her wedding. The best part was the Precession was done like a Runway Show! A wedding that we'll never forget!
