My good friend Lisa, over at Demby + Solomon, recently emailed me about this couple that she worked with, who aside from having the most gorgeous wedding you’ve ever seen, has also been a true source of inspiration for her. When I saw the photos and started reading their blog, I knew that you guys would love to hear all about them.
First things first, the photos of their recent wedding, taken by the amazingly talented Heather Saunders, are so magazine-worthy, I almost want to print them out and frame them…
I love how they paired a really rustic, beachside spot with a purely elegant attire. The end result is so beautiful. And honestly, to hear a bit more about the couple, seems to make the whole event sparkle…
After the wedding, this lovely pair has decided to devote an entire year, their first year of marriage, traveling around the world, working with different volunteer organizations. The adventure began in Paris and has taken them thus far through Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and parts of China. They have seen and done things in a few months that most of us won’t have the chance to do in our lifetime. This pair is truly a beautiful inspiration for me, and lucky enough, they are chronicling the entire journey so that we can all learn a little something about this huge, waiting-to-be-explored world.

Oh how I wish I could pack my bags and get away for a year- their story does inspire me so… I only wish I knew how they were funding the whole thing and if it is somehow possible to actually do something so courageous!

I was speechless at how beautiful this was and then received a second shock when I realized this was my law school roommate’s wedding that I was unfortunately unable to attend!!! She and her new husband are having a wonderful time on their fantastic trip around the world. S&D - miss you and can’t wait til you return home to DC!
