Wedding Invitations by Black Pearl Press

Being in Elisabeth Warman’s insanely cool letterpress studio, Black Pearl Press, a few nights ago was perhaps the highlight of my week. Okay, my month. Maybe my year, but I don’t want to embarrass her. Elisabeth joined Moria and Megan, of MFlynn Jewelry, and myself for dinner this past week. But before we left, we spent some time poking around her studio, devouring all of the gorgeous designs she has been working on.

Let me tell you what I really love about Elisabeth’s work. Each piece…from the typeface up, is so well executed, so well thought out. Her designs are finished in such a way that you can truly see the pure and honest TLC that went into crafting each one. So much so, that you want to frame them, rather than mail them.

To date, most of Elisabeth’s work is completely couture…all done by hand (yes, by hand) on the three presses that are featured above. But, I was thrilled to hear that she is also working on a ready made collection, Pearl Papers, which is set to launch this Fall. The top left photo is a sneak peak from her new collection.

Honestly people, Elisabeth is the real deal. She is an artist in every sense of the word, and yet she approaches her designs with such restraint and sophistication, it’s hard not to fall in love with her work.

How amazingly beautiful! I mean seriously beautiful! It would have made my year as well! Nothing to be embarrsed by, it's a curse, being the president of the stationary (aka anything paper) cult and all. :)

I am in awe of you!
