Wedding Details by Etsy

It’s official. The day is shot. I have spent a solid four hours pouring over one of my favorite sites, Etsy. What I love about this site is that not only can you find tons of handmade wares by indie designers, you can also find some pretty amazing collectors items that are absolutely perfect for your wedding decor. Take these “vases” for example…

Etsy

Top Row: Vintage Silver Trophy, Robin’s Egg Blue Creamer; Middle Row: Gold Pitcher, White Porcelain Pourers; Bottom Row: Vintage Milk Bottles, Handmade Ceramic Bowls

They could be used for a single, puffy peony or a small bouquet of fresh-from-the-garden flowers. You could place the bud of a cabbage rose in the rustic, golden bowls or a bundle of creamy white ranuculas in the vintage trophy. These images barely, just barely crack the surface of the great finds on Etsy. If you are struggling as to how to add a bit of personality and texture to your wedding, consider collecting vases like these rather than renting from your florist.

At my own wedding, we did this with old mint julep cups and cut crystal that we found on ebay. At the end of the evening, we encouraged guests to take them home them. Everyone was completely over the moon. Just last weekend (2 years after the actual wedding), I was having dinner with one of my cousins who brought up the monogrammed silver julep cup that she got at my wedding. She keeps crayons for her kids in it! I love that!
