Some of you might remember the teaser that I gave you from my dear friend Anne’s, gorgeous Southern wedding a few weeks ago…well, the pictures are in and they are beautiful!!!

The wedding was so lovely…traditional, but whimsical. Simple and sweet, but still so elegant. Anne chose a stunning, Victorian lace Vera Wang gown…a mermaid cut, with a thick ivory ribbon. Her bridesmaids wore perfect red JCrew dresses. Grooms in classic black tuxes with preppy pink bow ties. The colors were a blush pink and a bright red which made the whole wedding seem so happy and celebratory.
What I loved about this wedding in particular, was how fun and alive the whole evening felt. Although the ceremony was very simple and classic, the reception was an all out, no holds bar party. A great band, plenty of champagne and good Southern food made for a night that seemed both special and yet, completely relaxed.
I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did!
It is so beautiful! I can't believe this was a real world wedding and not a staged shoot. They must have great taste and excellent vendors
Wow, stunning! I love the polk a dot bow tie. It is really different. This wedding is so pretty...looks like it came out of a magazine! :)
I would LOVE to see her dress/ivory bow up close and personal, if you have more pics...I need to DIY my own sash and am now thinking about a bow like this one...Thanks Abby! Gorgeous!
Frequently, we think of the bride and groom as the focal point of the wedding day activities. They are, but it’s deeper than that. Superb photography reveals that central to that spotlight of attention, that “king and queen for the day” dynamic, is the relationship between the couple and their guests. A good photographer will capture those moments, small and large, in which those myriad relationships are expressed. As Cable noted, they are part of the wedding story, fairytale or not.

Abby,
I am in love with that cake. LOVE. It's simple, it's romantic, it's classy . . .it's perfect. I was wondering if maybe you could post some more images of it? I tried looking about on the photographers site but the events are password protected so no dice. Anything would be nice!
And those arrangements of baby's breath on the door are really sweet as well!
Thanks!

Hey there! What a gorgeous wedding. Was Anne's veil by Vera Wang too? Thanks.
Hi everyone, this is Anne.... thanks so much for all the sweet compliments on our wedding. To answer some of your questions.... the veil was actually my "borrowed" item, from a close friend and bridesmaid. She thinks it may have been a Saks signature design (purchased for her wedding 4 years ago, so memory is fuzzy :). It was very simple ivory with a thin satin band along the edge. With the cake, I was going for simple, classic, and chose a 4-tiered, smooth buttercream frosting with pearl dot borders (by Frosted Pumpkin in Atlanta). My florist added shades of pink ranunculous to complement my pink & red palette & finish off the cake design. I think you can definitely DIY your sash, as mine did not come with the dress, I added & bought it at Saks separately. Very good fabric/ribbon stores should have this type material for a good price. Also, a tip if you want to do JCrew bridesmaid dresses like I did (which I recommend! they may actually wear again!)... open up a J.Crew credit card & save your maids a little cash (and get a rewards card for the bride- good for honeymoon clothes!) Hope this helps! Happy to answer any more questions, I am filled with gobs of wedding knowledge that have been put on my newlywed shelf :)
