I am heading to Dallas for a couple of days to shower my BFF, whose getting married in November, with wedding attention so I won’t be doing a new post today. But, since I didn’t want to leave you empty handed, I thought that I would post this adorable inspiration board that I received from one of our readers, Martha.
From Martha…
This one I call “Wedding Swirls”. I came across this photo of a spiral lawn and thought what a fun idea to use for a wedding. I took the spiral shape (or swirl) and used it as a theme for a wedding. In every picture there is a spiral…antique metal urns, the roses, a Dior dress that encircles the body, Valentino shoes ( look closely at the heel), stone garden ornament, insect pins on ferns, cake with icing swirled on the side, and the braid coiled into a bun for a bride.
Hi Abby,
your "non-post" is a fabulous one. See what you've started?
Martha,
love, love, love. Can you please tell me your source for the lawn photo? It's fantastic.
Thanks!
These inspiration boards are such fun! The source for the lawn photo was in a back issue of "Country Gardens" Fall 2001. Hope that helps.
Where oh where can I find that amazing green bridesmaid dress? I'm having a Spring wedding and would like to have butter yellow & green as my color theme. Not until I saw this picture did I believe there is a non-ugly green dress out there for my attendents to wear. Any info would be much appreciated!
Your wedding color theme sounds beautiful. The grass-green dress is by John Galliano for Dior. It's available at Dior boutiques. You can see the entire photo of the dress in Vogue magazine, July 2007. I hope these dresses will end your search.

Thanks so much for the follow-up information, Martha! And I love the term "grass-green." You know I'm going to start telling people that's my color theme now, right? "Butter yellow and grass green." Yup. Clearly I'm all about the adjectives. ;o)
This is stunning! I love the muted colors. Thanks for sharing Martha and Abby!
