Writing a blog is tough. It takes time and patience to create something that readers will enjoy day after day. There are often days when I don’t feel particularly inspired or creative…and there are days where I get so busy, it is incredibly difficult to find a couple of hours to devote to Style Me Pretty.
But then, I get a sweet email from a reader, or a “congratulations” from a great magazine editor, or simply a nod from another designer…and I am always reinvigorated and excited to start the next piece. Thus is the case with today’s post. One of our readers, Katherine, sent me such a touching note thanking me for giving her and her fiance inspiration to create a beautiful wedding. And, she was sweet enough to share all of the gorgeous details with us…
Thursday, I will have a few more beautiful pictures from Katherine’s wedding, as well as all of the creative touches that Katherine infused into the affair. Until then!
I love the converse sneaker shot. Your photographer is incredible. Did you supply the vases and linens, or did the venue gather them for you? Either way, this wedding is editorial worthy. What an affair!
Your photogapher was really able to capture the details you spent so much time creating. Beautiful.
Thanks for the comments! Yes, we were happy with the photographer - searched carefully before selecting him. As an art director I'm happiest behind the lens of the camera - not in front of it! We briefed a floral company, Lush, who sourced the vases and we supplied the linens ourself which we had screenprinted with our own designs.
Great website - I look at it often and dream. This is just beautiful. Keep them coming even when you are uninspired!
I love the mood of your photography and how you've put your board together, beautiful! Can I ask where you got your fabrics printed? I'd like to print my illustrations on my table runners for my wedding but haven't had much luck in finding (economical) fabric printers.
Hi Viola. Thank you for your kind comments. Unfortunately we are in Cape Town, South Africa so our suppliers won't be of much help to you... We found screenprinting the most economical - good luck with your sourcing.
