Wedding Color Palette Ideas and Advice

Again, from the Martha Stewart Weddings Winter 2005 issue, I found these great color palette ideas…

Lush Purples with Chartreuse Accents…

Sweet Pink Pinks with Patterned Accents…

A Modern Mix of Greens and Blues…

Here are some tips when finding your color palette:

-When choosing a palette for your wedding, keep in mind the colors already in place at the site where the ceremony or reception will be held, and build around them.

-If there’s one color you especially love, make it resonate by mixing it’s various shades, both soft and strong.

-Using one or two colors with a  neutral shade as white, taupe, or brown is nearly always effective. If you pick three or four colors, consider using one or two of them sparingly; intense hues make particularly striking accents. Combining more than four color families, however, can look haphazard.

Isn't Chartreuse a shade of green? (not yellow/gold like you mentioned below the first picture?) Just wondering!? nice post.

  2. Love the blue/green combo. One of the great things about Martha Stewart is that her designs and color combos are timeless!

I absolutely LOVE the purple/chartruse combo. Really this combo can be used in spring, summer or even into fall. Beautiful post. (I used this color scheme in my daughter's room!)

You are right, Chartreuse is a shade of green...the color in the actual photo is a bit more "chartreuse" than the shade that uploaded. Either color would look beautiful with the purple hues though!

Love those first set of pics. Very fresh. I like it better with the yellow. :)

Im getting married in march..what are the colors for that month?

I love the mix of blues and greens. I'm getting married next June and I'm doing cream colored bridesmaid dresses with a mix of blues and greens in the bouquets as well as decorations!
