The Best Wedding Books…

May 24th. 2007 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 8 comments

I remember when I was planning my own wedding, I had a MAJOR addiction to wedding books and magazines. And, together with my equally addicted mother, I managed to accumulate just about every good wedding book out there. Or so I thought. One of our readers, Jayme, clued me into the gorgeousness that is Southern Weddings. The pictures are drool worthy and the book really does have some great planning ideas.

So my NEW favorite wedding books (well not new wedding books, just new favorites) are…

I added Southern Weddings to my favs, along with Simple Stunning Weddings, InStyle Weddings and of course…Vera Wang on Weddings. Each one offers inspiration…simple, gorgeous inspiration.

What are your favorite books? What are the must have books for this season?

Jo Gartin's Weddings-- I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful this book is. It has so many great, budget-friendly ideas for adding personal, unqiue touches to your wedding. I've already bought tons of wedding magazines and books, but this one is far and away my favorite.

The author of Southern Weddings has her own event planning business in Charelston. Some good pictures and ideas in their website gallery http://soireecharleston.com " rel="nofollow">http://soireecharleston.com >

A friend of mine gave me "The Best Friend's Guide to Planning a Wedding" by Lara Webb Carrigan. I read it from cover to cover and it was helpful in the 1st few weeks of being engaged - when I was REALLY excited and inspired but also overwhelmed wit the wedding planning process. There aren't any photos in the book, it's a paperback guide / reference.

someone gave me "what no one tells the bride" which isn't about designing a wedding, but creating and sustaining a wonderful marriage, starting with the engagement, and how women go through so many changes when they get engaged. it's a little self-help-y, but i found some things in there to be super helpful.

I love the Vera Wang book as well. Colin Cowie just came out with a new book that is completely drool worthy.

  6. The Southern Weddings book is Fabulous. I have been able to use it to help bride's create their entire design theme. I have found that the Real Simple magazine is a great source of inspiration also.

I love, love, love that Southern Weddings book. I snatched it up the second I saw it. I recognized the author's name from several magazine articles. I'll second Jo Gartin's book as well.
