More Wedding Dresses!

Last month I did a write-up on the Fall 2007 gowns...I really thought that I had found my favorites for the season. Well, as I was doing yesterday's inspiration board, I discovered so many more that I am madly in love with. I am particularly in awe of the beautiful detailing that seems to be mastered this season...from antique lace to delicate beading. Some a bit traditional and others more unique and...

Inspiratin Board: Sophisticated Glamour

I have had a few people write to me requesting an Inspiration Board that reflects an ultra-glamorous affair...complete, unabashed luxury. With a bit of bling. So today's board isn't really for anyone in particular, but rather for all of those girls reading this blog, that dream of a lavish wedding fit for a princess.

Summer Color Palette

I just got back from the Stationery Show in NY where inspiration is basically enveloping you...it's in every corner, on every wall and often, on the ceilings and floors. This year's talent was great and I applaud all of the designers who busted their tails to get there. Anyway, while I was working, I ran into celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss. She and her business partner, Janis, are so sweet and seeing them reminded me that I hadn't been to their...

The Best Wedding Books…

I remember when I was planning my own wedding, I had a MAJOR addiction to wedding books and magazines. And, together with my equally addicted mother, I managed to accumulate just about every good wedding book out there. Or so I thought. One of our readers, Jayme, clued me into the gorgeousness that is Southern Weddings. The pictures are drool worthy and the book really does have some great planning ideas.

Winner Announced

I am a little late today on the post...our movers arrived at 10PM last night and were here until midnight. Good thing my husband took the reigns on that, as I was so exhausted from the Stationery Show in NY, I was basically useless. Anyway, I wanted to go ahead and announce the winner of the Abby Jean/Fontaine Maury contest AND let you know that your ideas have been such a huge hit!

The winner for this contest is...Jenn! Here is her post:

At first glance, I definitely...

Ribbon Detail

Holly, over at Decor8, recently posted about this great ribbon company called The Ribbon Jar. It got me thinking about all of the little ways that you can incorporate a beautiful ribbon into your wedding decor. It is incredible how an inexpensive detail can add so much, if done with elegance and style. Here are some ways that I have seen ribbon incorporated beautifully...

HouseMartin and Ink & Peat

My best friend, Katie, is obsessed with the HouseMartin blog. She is always emailing me various arrangements and home decor ideas that the writer features...and sure enough, I too, have become completely hooked. Her work is so incredibly inspiring, filled with such beautiful colors and textures. Not to mention, brilliant ideas for wedding decor.

So, after hours of mindless blog reading...

Champagne and Dessert Fete

After a bit of an inspiration board hiatus, I have finally put together a board that I absolutely love. Probably because this palette just happens to be my absolute, hands down personal favorite. So much so, that my own wedding was inspired by these colors.

Today's inspiration board is for Samantha, who is having a champagne and dessert reception for her closest family and friends, after a private ceremony at a small chapel on the coast of California. Because Sam and her fiance are...

Wedding Invitations by Charming Gardener

Calligraphy by Tracy Joe

I found this beautiful calligraphy recently while doing some research for an upcoming inspiration board. Tracy Joe's work is classic and elegant, but also completely chic and modern. A very hard combination to pull off!

She offers a great variety of different styles and features nice samples on her site so that you can get a true feel for her work. She is often booked 2-3 months in advance, so definitely give her a call sooner rather...

Color Palette Ideas

Here are some palette ideas for those of you that are struggling to find your look...

The first was inspired by my own wedding...Chocolate & Cream. I brought in accents of blush pink and champagne, but sage green, coral or a deep pink would all look beautiful too. Actually, chocolate and cream are both great foundation colors that you can build on for any wedding.

1154 Lill Studio

A couple of my readers have asked for ideas on unique bridesmaid's gifts. It's so hard because you want to buy them something great and meaningful, but most people can't spend an arm and a leg on gifts.

With that said, I found these great bags by 1154 Lill Studio when I was looking at old Daily Candy articles the other day...

Here is how it works...

Inspiration Board: Southern Class

Today's inspiration board was actually created by one of my readers, Catie! She did a such a beautiful board that I wanted to post it for all of you to see.

A few little details that Catie could also do...

-Give your mom a handkerchief to walk down the aisle with...either made of scraps from your gown, or store bought.

-Give your bridesmaids...
