Bouvet Rose Champagne

Bouvet_rose_2 I found this fabulous find while perusing the Splendora blog the other day. For those of you that don’t know, Splendora is THE authority on everything fabulous. They profile the latest and greatest in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, always managing to find the best boutiques, newest trends and restaurants WAY before anyone else does. In a word, they are brilliant.

Anyway, I loved this particular find because to me…champagne is the epitome of luxury, of elegance, of celebration. A good champagne can turn a party into a chic affair, and yet a bad champagne can turn a a chic affair into a frat party. In all honesty though, how many people can afford to stock a bar with Dom Perignon? Not me, that’s for sure.

So I love that the girls over at Splendora found this beautiful and oh-so-affordable champagne, Bouvet Rose. At $12 a bottle and nearly as good as the pricier versions, ummm…hello?? How much better can you get!

Great to see you're back, Abby! Another great, inexpensive, bottle of bubbly (not technically champagne) is Westport Rivers Brut -- the vineyard is on the south shore, I think. It's delish!

  2. Indeed! Splendora is the authority on fabulous.

I am getting married next spring and was directed to this site by a friend... granted I am not the most girly girl out there and I make my living in the wine business, but I just can't imagine spending $3.25 on a cookie and only $12 on the sparkling wine. This is arguably the center point of the wedding that ties everyone together (toasts abound!) It's a let down that wine is often the last thought. You don't have to spend $100 a bottle, but the real thing - meaning actual Champagne - is ceratinly a nice way to start off married life. If Champagne doesn't work into the budget, I think Prosecco or Cremant d'Alsace are better choices than Bouvet. BUT everyone has their owns splurges!!

Quick note: Bouvet is produced in the Loire Valley, outside of the Champagne region in France, and is thus not Champagne. It is a sparkling wine. Just FYI. It is truly delicious!

  5. Personally, I love the celebration that comes from drinking champagne at a wedding. It really does MAKE a party. My tip is always to aim for something a bit sweeter, rather than dry, as the majority of your guests won't drink a lot of it (hence the toasting) but sweet seems to be more palatable to most.

I've seen some pretty upscale caterers pour some pretty cheap bubbly for the guests. For my money, Freixenet is a great value.

  7. In the festival time it will increase the celebration.

  8. Surely it will increase the celebration Style.
