I know that cupcakes, in lieu of wedding cakes, were so 2 years ago…but, I love them. I just can’t help it. There are such adorable creations out there these days, I am just wondering if cupcakes are here to stay? Has the mini-cake taken it’s place in the world of cake trends? What do you think…I would love to hear your comments! And, if you know of a particularly great vendor for any of type of cake, we are starting to build a vendor referral category.
Here are some of the most beautiful Kylie Lambert cupcakes…
Versus, the oh-so-adorable mini cakes…

Now, I’m hungry! For more eye candy, check out the GORGEOUS cakes at Miette in San Francisco. Their little specialty cakes are so pretty and would be the perfect detail for a quaint, charming wedding.

Oh so beautiful. I posted this link on my blog and linked back to you, hope you don't mind :)
Thanks for the eye candy
These make me want to talk my husband into marrying me all over again:-)
PS I clicked over from Michelle's (above)
Beautiful and inspiring as always. These little cupcakes and cakes would perfect for any wedding - they are exquisite. I bet they are here to stay!
These are great! Just this morning I was trying to sell my mother on either cupcakes (I so want a "frost/top-your-own" bar for cupcakes!!) or mini-cakes for my wedding, these pictures & links are great inspiration.
My far less savvy approach was two-fold:
1. I searched for "cupcake" as a tag on flickr & came up with photos from shindigs & bakers galore (http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=cupcake )" rel="nofollow">http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=cupcake) >
2. I searched for some of the cupcake blogs I knew I'd seen around (http://www.cupcakeblog.com/ ," rel="nofollow">http://www.cupcakeblog.com/, > http://cupcakestakethecake.blogspot.com/ ," rel="nofollow">http://cupcakestakethecake.blogspot.com/, > http://vegancupcakes.wordpress.com/ ," rel="nofollow">http://vegancupcakes.wordpress.com/, > etc.) & showed her those.
She was swayed, but not convinced. Now I have bona fide wedding porn arsenal for my attack against the tiered white fondant classic! Yay!
I haven't spoken to my baker yet, but I may actually be going with all three. My mom is going to make a wonderful wedding cheesecake that she did for my sister's wedding (from Martha Stewart's old "Weddings" book), I get a cake with my venue so I'm going to ask them to make cupcakes instead, possibly with a mini-cake in the same style on top, and I'm going to have a mini-cake of a groom's cake made as a surprise for my fiance. We're going to have a cake buffet, basically! I'm also going to have an assortment of cake toppers, from vintage bisque and plastic brides and grooms, to Superman and Wonder Woman action figures, to Kang and Kodos in a little bow tie and veil.
Please see my blog for a mention of this fabulous post
Are those wedding cake toppers from www.magicalday.com ? They look similar to ones I got from them a while back. Awsome theme by the way.
Hello!
Can you please tell me the name of the artist who created that green dove cage wedding topper. I have searched and searched. I appreciate your time!
One of my brides opted for a multi-layered cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. It looked great, the guests loved it and I think she saved a few bucks too!
please send me cake and chocolate news pictures everything you are doing thanks
An absolute honour to be on here thanks :)
And 2 years on cupcakes are stronger than ever so luckily for me they have stayed in fashion so far......thanks for putting me on here :)
