It is so hard for me to express what I am looking for or need. When I do find it I think it is the combination of personality with real-life do-ability. Being able to imagine something in a setting that is not the Jessica Simpson wedding but being perfect in its own way.

In just 4 days you have become part of my morning routine, I can’t wait to see the inspiration boards. Reading over the posts I found so many things I agreed with. I’ve loved looking at bridal magazines for years but now that I’m planning my own wedding I’ve discovered the only magazine I really find helpful is MS. The rest are as helpful as the gossip/tabloids magazines in the checkout line because they don’t really relate to me in any real way. I care about Tori Spellings centerpieces as much as I care about Elvis’s meal at In&Out last week. That said I’m usually overwhelmed at skills needed to accomplish her ideas. What really attracts me to MS is that each wedding seems so personal and unique.
I love the inspiration boards because they help me see how I can incorporate our personality and personal tastes into the overall look. I’d love advice on how to take an idea like say..a bird theme and really show how it can be incorporated into different elements of the wedding such as invitations, place settings, favors etc. with out being cheesy or breaking the bank. I’d also love to hear how couples budget their time, whether it’s balancing their DIY projects with work, managing to actually see all of your guests or even scheduling a honeymoon time. I’d also love to know where people are glad they spent their money, and where they wish they hadn’t bothered.

keep up the GREAT work! i think the industry has forgotten about us older brides. it seems the majority of the other wedding websites sites appeal to the 20 something bride that is more interested in cutting corners and saving money then hosting a joyful celebration of the sacrament of marriage. i’m not looking for “stuff” because i “need to have it”, i’m looking to create an atmosphere for my guests to share with me the happiest day of my life. your inspritation boards have become an essential resource for my planning, the day planner would be indispensible.

This is a great site! I found the link on weddingbee.com. I have found the most frustrating problem with other sites is the details and lack of follow-up on posts. So far you are scoring an A+. As I help my sister with her wedding planning, we will see a great dress or stationery, but no mention of where the item is from or who makes it. We are left running around with a picture asking for help. Please include credits. That is always helpful.

This is a lovely blog filled with wonderful information about planning the wedding of your dreams. My suggestion for making this blog even more special would be to include more information for ethnic brides. Asian, Latino, and African-American brides often have needs that go unnoticed in the wedding industry. For example, I’m an Indian bride-to-be and there is precious little information about integrating Indian and Asian customs into a ceremony and reception, how to balance those traditions with American ones, stylish Indian wedding outfits, real weddings, etc. I know that a lot of brides don’t need this information, but wouldn’t it be great if everyone knew a little about the traditions of other cultures? I think it’s fascinating and I’m sure other people would too– they may even find tidbits they want to include in their own wedding.

All in all, I would love if more wedding blogs, particularly one as stylish and tasteful as this one, would represent the needs of *all* brides.

I too am new to this wedding blog, and have found myself instantly a ‘regular’ vistor. What I found to be helpful – and what I think separates this blog from all the others – is all the wedding style elements. There are many familiar resources (i.e. The Knot, Wedding Channel etc) that give you tips on what you need to think about, provide links to area vendors (many of which I find awful). There are other blogs that provide a forum for brides-to-be to chat about hair, make up, shoes – blah blah blah. But what I really love about this site is that it helps me think about how I’m going to pull it all together. It’s style inspiration! The inspiration boards are awesome! And while I am on a budget (and can’t afford many of the vendors listed), what is posted here truly inspires me to think about the whole picture and helps me think about stylish – and affordable – ways for me to incorporate color, pull together elements of the wedding, as well as infuse our personalities into our wedding.

There are so many wedding websites out there but I guess I would hate to see this blog become cookie cutter. Pictures of real weddings are great, fun and inspiring (hate to use that word so much)! The Fabulous Finds are really helpful – as are your sources listed under the inspiration boards.

This is a beautifully designed and very well-written blog. Congratulations! Thank you for providing brides and wedding planners with such a wonderful resource of inspiration. I have it bookmarked and plan on visiting often.

The inspiration boards are a new and unique concept and I think you should continue to play up on those and use real weddings to showcase how the inspiration boards were translated into decisions and elements. We all want to see real weddings and as many of the details that go along with them, especially where budgetary issues are concerned. Tell us how much one bride splurged on letterpress invites but cut corners with out-of-town guest bags and bulk purchases from an online vendor.

Best of luck and I look forward to seeing how this blog develops!

Definitely high/low ideas. I’d love to see one of your inspiration boards done in both a premium and budget minded interpretation: one reader got it right in that most people don’t go premium all the way, or budget all the way — but how great to have the same theme interpretated high and low, and we can pick elements of both according to our concept of what’s ok to splurge on and where it’s best to budget.

Inspiration. I think that is what we all are looking for in wedding websites. That is what I love about your site. You seem so inspired by ordinary everyday objects. We want real ideas that will translate into many different weddings in many different locations. I want to see something truly unique and different that I can incorporate into my small town wedding and that a bride in NYC can incorporate also in her own way. I love your inspiration boards. You have already “inspired” me to create my own with pictures that I love. After doing this I finally felt a direction for my wedding. Thank you! Keep up what your doing.

Definitly a how-to would be helpful as you always see the before and after but never the steps to getting there. It would be great if someone could fill in those blanks so that we can recreate the look and tweak and change them to fit our styles. It would be even better if the blog was also mindful of the budget. There are a lot of really great ideas but they’re so extravagent and expensive that unless you have a crazy budget, the great ideas are useless and just become something to admire.

I love your blog and especially the Inspirational boards. Its great how you take questions and share your expertise. I also love how different each board is and shares a different style and approach. Most importantly, its great that you use images as well as words to explain what you have in mind. It really helps to create an overall picture of your ideas and get a sense of what you’re trying to convey.

Firstly let me say that I am LOVING your blog. It is amazing all the wedding ideas I have picked up since I stopped focusing on the regular websites (brides, the knot, etc..) and started reading personal advice. I think that what most of the other sites out there are missing is a real feeling of WHO these brides are. It often feels like there are 5 or 6 “categories” that a wedding needs to fit into… what I am looking for is something that breaks the mold. I don’t want anyone walking into my reception– an embodiment of who my fiance and I are– and thinking “oh this is just like Julie’s!”

What would I like to see when I visit? Unique ideas. A twist on the traditional without being wild and ultra modern. Wedding tips and ideas that center around the most important part of the day– a union of two into one. Also– pricing! So many times I will find something I LOVE and must have only to find out that it works better in a budget like Jessica Simpson than in mine! It would be great to see one concept done at a few different price levels.

I think it’d be interesting to see a section of problems/snafus that people have encountered during wedding planning or on the day of…and would like to know what they did to rectify the situation. I think that would help a lot!!

Good morning! I am just discovering your blog today but don’t know how i’ve been wedding planning without it! I believe the problem with many brides is two-fold, first it’s in seeing the big picture, we have all of these ideas and little things we would like incorporated and decisions are made so peace meal (from vendors to the look of the cake and that of the linens and lighting and so on) that it becomes really hard to know how it will all look and come together – hence something like your inspiration board and posting real weddings becomes so essential — you see how the colors and details and dresses and all of that interplays and creates an entire look as opposed to all of these smaller decisions in our heads!! the second problem / thing i know i am looking for is then the issue of execution, which is where how to’s are a wonderful help, once an inspiration board or wedding with great ideas for our color or scheme is seen, then how can we re-create that look, anything from who the dress hanging on the back of a door is by to how to make that table number at home or where to buy the supplies for making your own paper luminaries. for me these are the two main problems that i’m overwhelmed by, the overall look coming together and the execution of those individual elements — that’s why i LOVE the idea of the inspiration board and seeing real weddings and then a somewhat connected how-to on wedding details.

hopefully this made sense and maybe others feel the same way . what a great idea for a contest and for taking an interest in reader input. thank you so much for your wonderful blog, i plan to be a very loyal reader and love what i’ve seen so far!
