In a nutshell, this is a blog about all things wedding. Well, not ALL things wedding per se…all things distinctively unique, all things particularly pretty, all things stylish that will make your wedding magazine worthy. I am an invitation and stationery designer, obsessed with good quality design and anything on paper. I design a wedding invitation line, called Abby Jean, with products in about 100 stores around the country. Although my work focus is on printing, design and fine finishing, like engraving and letterpress, my style obsessions are far less focused.
As an entrepreneur, I follow trends. I read design blogs feverishly, am a subscriber to a slew of bridal, design and trade publications, I scour the internet for the latest and greatest in fashions and am always harassing my friends and colleagues for their resources on anything and everything new. As a designer, I am forever in search of inspiration…great textiles, vintage inspired wallpapers, my grandfather’s sketches, my niece’s paintings. The perfect croissant, my favorite go-to bag, a pair of old jeans, a hand-painted vase or a little black dress. The list goes on and on. And yet as a girl, I am as simple and as old fashioned as they come. I love blush colored peonies, stealing peaks of my wedding gown long after the wedding has past and watching old reruns of Audrey Hepburn films.
So as a blogger…what could that possibly mean? Well, it means that I will blog about all things fresh and new, all things inspiring and of course, all things girly. In a word, your wedding. Each week, we will have a ton of good information and resources for you to translate that perfect picture in your head, into the real thing. I’ll talk about trends, about real life weddings, about those hard to find details. I’ll touch on etiquette, fashion, do-it-yourself touches, and much much more.
Simply put, I hope that through my own love affair with all things pretty, I can inspire you to transform your creative instincts into a spectacular affair.
